I think you're quite correct in your description of what we can hear in this, possibly the best studio effort from Brian; and definitely one of the best vocals of all time from Fred. @scottscale1 Good question! I think it's just a show time Brian wanted for himself. Brighton Rock is not that famous unfortunately and Queen only played their famous songs live, unfortunately. This is considered the best guitar solo by Brian so, I think he wanted to sort of recreate it live and all that...
