  • the first few minutes remind me so much of the start to Sgt. Pepper's

  • 13 people can go and take a flying f**k to themselves!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Monsterous!

  • great early Queen ,got this classic album in 1974 on cassette still sounds so fresh today an absolute classic album from that year along with Sparks Kimono My House

  • I do not want to have a comment only quoting the song, but ‎"Oh rock of ages do not crumble, Love is breathing still" is one of my favourites lines, like ever.

  • 70's !! QUEEN,PURPLE,SABBATH,ZEPPELIN,RAINBOW,UFO,PRIEST,SCORPIONS,BUDGIE,ELPmtv and 80's sucks !!

  • this is pure class loved early Queen

  • This song is the reason i started playing guitar. The whole song is killer and the guitar work from Brian May was revolutionary for that time, years before Van Halen came up. After hearing this licks at 1:53 and 2:00 i knew i wanna be able to do this too.

  • Ha Ha freddie's laugh at 4:48

  • BRING THEM BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when queen were a rock band . cool

  • Holy crap, Freddie can sing higher and lower than anybody I know. Amazing vocal range. The guitar, bass, and drums in this are all godly, too.

  • now ....this has one of rocks best guitar riffs of all time!!!

  • It's a great song to start the 'Sheer Heart Attack' album! I wonder why it's called 'Brighton Rock'?

  • @MFlego81 After the Graham Greene novel of the same name :)

  • @Oscar301 Oh alright, thanks!

  • @MFlego81 It could also be because of the sweet you can get in Brighton, called Brighton rock. And I'm pretty sure this song is set in Brighton. :)

  • OK, I checked ALL 900 or so posts[whew!] and nobody mentioned the fact that the calliope playing during the boardwalk opening, is Brian on guitar.....Yes it's him creating that through many manipulations and studio wizardry. And nobody knew it? Amazing creativity.

  • The 70's God Bless em.

  • I wish I was old enought to see this band with Freddie in it. RIP Freddie Mercury, the greatest singer and frontman of all time.

  • Roger Taylor is one of the best drummers in the world, (in my opinion).

  • @cesarspain10 Its not an opinion... Its a fact along with Brian May, Freddie Mercury and John R Deacon.

  • Holy shit! Bian May is one of the best guitar players ever!

  • What a kind of voice!

  • nobody- not one soul on the face of this earth- could ever, ever, ever say "its so good to know there's still a little magic in the air"(0:44- 0:50 ish) as perfect as the one and only freddie mercury said it. how- how...just HOW do you change your voice like that? so graciously, so perfect, so spine chilling-ly?? he was a GOD. i worship him every day.

  • @icantstopchewinggum

I think you're quite correct in your description of what we can hear in this, possibly the best studio effort from Brian; and definitely one of the best vocals of all time from Fred. I think this track is hugely under-rated by humanity in general - but what do they know? I hope they know where they can stick it! Ignorant sods. (fan or what).

  • @icantstopchewinggum I'll tell you how to change your voice that way: Be Freddie Mercury :P

  • @icantstopchewinggum Brilliant! Someone else who looks deeper into their songs for special and unique little gems!! I do it to EVERY Queen song. Break it down and pick out some awesome deep-rooted parts that other listeners might not pick up! This,to me, gives away just how much of a genius they all were!

  • @wehatemagz ya i totally agree- i do the same thing :)

  • @icantstopchewinggum Love it! Love your comment so much....how true it is! Freddie will always be the very Best ever!!!

  • Brian May was one of the first highly technical guitarists of heavy metal

  • you don't have to say much

that's just a fucking good band

  • Brighton Born and Bred.

  • this one really brought tears to my eyes.. what have i been doing all these years not listening to this masterpiece?!

  • RIP Freddie ...was 13 when I first heard this album ..and it's still my all time favourite album after nearly 38 years..miss your greatness , charisma and showmanship

  • RIP Freddie- will never forget the day I got a vinyl copy and heard this song for the first time- I was blown away by the brilliance of this band

  • queen day on fb 4 me. just 1 queen track after the other. greatest band ever r.i.p freddie 20yrs n ur still the greatest.

  • This was fucking metal for those times!!

  • IT never fucking mattered if Freddie was gay, cause it's the music that makes the man!

  • Im exhausted just listening to Roger's drumming!

  • G-E-N-I-A-L-N-E !

  • I wonder who's Freddie singing with?

  • @mistrzteleportacji - oh, you mean the female vocal going along with Freddie's male one? He's doing both parts. Unbelievable, I know, but it's true. I would have guessed Roger, but I did research and it turns out Freddie did both!

  • In Vinyl terms, side 1 of Sheer Heart Attack is possibly the best sequence of rock music ever made.

  • 02:41 Brian May has invented thrash metal !

  • fucking love it

  • I'm having unwilling sexual intercourse with the replay button!

  • This song shows the true genius of Brian May. Also the unbelievable vocal range of Freddie Mercury.

  • What a powerful Song ,,,,,,,, Freddie , Brian , Roger and John ...... i love u and thanks for making the Best music EVER .......

  • @spacecowboy7580 wow really? i was making a point to the guy who said "im 13 and i like queen" by saying i was 15 and i dont post it on all music vids and i dont feel i have the right to rub it in everyones face, and u wasnt i was addressing this guy....i might not fool you but you fooled yourself

  • I love Freddy's multiple voices. What a fucking great range.

  • 0:54 => smells like teen spirit?

  • @MrSeventhElement pff ni se te ocurra decirlo nada que ver.... no hay nada ahi xDDD no se parece el sonido

  • @joshep901 Kerel, wat doet jouw denken dat ik Spaans versta?

  • @joshep901 bent Nederlands of iets xD?

  • i forgot all about sheer heart attack... sheesh, you gotta dig deep to get the good songs!... thanks to the poster...

  • Jesus christ what a great fucking band.

  • I LOVE the sound of Roger's kit in the 70's,the last time I really liked it was on Innuendo

  • When Brian May tried to be Hendrix. :)

  • @l2udolph why hendrix?

  • @l2udolph, Personally, I like Brian May's playing much more than Hendrix'. I hear nothing here that suggests Brian was trying to be Jimi.

  • @l2udolph He tried, and he could be! Brian is Great man!!!

  • hello 11 and proud, my daughter age 11 is trying to figure out if she likes the beatles or queen the best (or Lady Gaga...) keep listening to the music that wil live forever !! Hey Beantownbig3....Boston Rhapsody is available out here (a show recorded Jan 76 at what was the Wang Center) really good stuff, hard to find anywhere else, though !!

  • I proudly own all the Queen on Cassette! I am probably the only dedicated cassetteman left in the world. I AM OLD SCHOOL AND LOVE QUEEN. Truly will miss Freddie Mercury, probably the best vocalist in rock. So versatile. Great fucking group. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

  • @sabbathfreak1 My dad gave me his collection of over 300 cassettes. Every week I pick out 6 to listen to while I drive around in my 1991 Ford Escort with a cassette player of course. Because as eveyone knows.... RADIO SUCKS !!!

  • Groovy!

  • wow! I'm glad i listened to this song, I learned how to play some of the solo, it was very unique and difficult, yet beautiful. I would love to be a great guitarist like Brian May someday (i'm only 13 :p).

  • de donde sale la melodia de feria comienzo brighton rock queen?yo la escuche en una pelicula... pero no la recuerdo!! Saludos espero respuesta

  • mi album y cancion favorita

  • Freddie, Brian, Roger and John. Undisputed musical Kings!

  • this is bull shit guys like you come here put dum shit in comments and it going stright to the top comments wtf

  • @Queenrock990 i hate people who say "im 11/12 and i like this" , so what? who cares? im 15 i dont rub it in peoples face. not having a go at you for liking queen im just saying it doesnt matter how old you are and being in your early teens doesnt mean you should think other people need to know about it

  • @saintprawn Amen.

  • @saintprawn I totally agree... o.0 Kids these days just like to rub it in so much like it's some big accomplishment when they do. It's retarded. They should just shut up and listen to the music!

  • @saintprawn

Well done...you actually managed to tell us you're 15 while pretending not to tell us...but we see through your sneakiness...you don't fool Queen fans easily.

  • Queen are the kings of rock since they had begun!

  • queens rocks!

  • proper rock ok

  • proper rock

  • proper rock

  • Does anybody know why Brian played only guitar parts of this song?

only as a solo, as we know.

Cause I, and i think many other like entire song...including Freddie.

  • @scottscale1 Good question! I think it's just a show time Brian wanted for himself. Brighton Rock is not that famous unfortunately and Queen only played their famous songs live, unfortunately. This is considered the best guitar solo by Brian so, I think he wanted to sort of recreate it live and all that...

  • in the top 100 greatest guitar solos of all time

  • This album cover...OMG. Really. Too hot.

  • Absolutely QUEEN ' N ' ROLL.

  • QUEENはの音楽は何年たっても新鮮でかっこいい!!

  • mm mm

    #

  • Brian May rocks on guitar on this track!!! Long Live Queen!!!

  • @pakleglia I'm going to have to find some old tapes of Sagen and Tyson. Seems almost like a given for me, lol. But thanks, nonetheless.

  • @pakleglia (yawn) Trolls be trollin'

  • @pakleglia I'm going down roughly the same path as Brian (except putting the astrophysics before music, lol). Much more stable career path, haha. But when I found out that he went back to school to get his PhD in astrophysics, no less, I went crazy. It only made me idolize him even more. Not to mention his insanely unique tone and the fact that he built his own guitar as I am doing O_O All of those things combined to form the weirdest coincidence I've ever come across xD

  • @Joshuaovfitzy indeed!

  • ええ疾走感や

  • @xoxobieberrfannxoxo why listen then? Don't waste the precious brain cells you have left on stupid comments

  • Whilst Freddie may be dead his passion and soul will live on in all his songs and more

  • I love Brian May because...

    1. He is a great guitarist (probably one of the best ever).

    2. He fought off hepatitis. (what a trooper)

    3. His guitar solos live are unique.

    4. His hair is awesome (i know i'm a guy but his hair is still beast).

    5. He played in Queen. :)

  • @beantownbig3 And he has a PHD in Astrophysics! XD

  • @DailyDipper It's not fair, huh? What a freakin' geek-stud!

  • @beantownbig3 I also love Brian for all the fights which he leads to save the wild fauna!

Big guitarist and big heart !!!!

  • @queenchristel not to mention he wrote the queen songs "jesus" and "the prophets song"

  • @queenchristel Queen at there best!

  • @mikex62 Oh yes! They are the princes of the univers!

    No one can beat them!

  • @beantownbig3

u said too much. brian may is too great for words to carry on.

  • @pakleglia Tom Scoltz of Boston has a Master's degree in electrical engineering from MIT.

  • I was born about 5 years to late to see Queen in their prime. And what were they thinking choosing Paul Rogers as a replacement? Gary Cherone would have been better.....bought The Crown Jewels box set years ago with their first 10 albums....waiting for another set with their last albums.....Hot Space was great.

  • @TheProudWhite

I'd put Chris Cornell in Queen.

  • @MassesVclasses yeah he could bring them tea and biscuits

  • @MassesVclasses no you won't

  • @TheProudWhite I was born not even four months before Freddie's passing. :(

  • Only 11 and proud to say, Queen will live on forever, Unlike the crappy stuff today. In 50 years time, i bet loads of people will listen to queen and music from the good old days. Not Bieber or Ki$ha.

  • @Queenrock990

You go kid, you must have had a very good upbringing :)

  • @Sengleaboy Sort of, I sorta Got into Queen on my own! I love the Beatles and ABBA too!

  • @Queenrock990 You're 11 and you're swearing!!! You should have your mouth washed out.

  • @fattymattyweasel If you don't like seeing swear words, don't bother going on this site or the internet for that matter.

  • @remotefreak147 Ahhh sorry. I should have explained my motive a bit better.

Er, I was being humorous (joking)

Ya see alot of people post those I'm only X years but I like this music comments.

And so I decided hmmmm I would respond in a joking manor also referring to the fact that he is only 11 years old.

  • @fattymattyweasel Oh, never mind then. Sorry about that man.

  • @Queenrock990 So "Crappy" Is a swear word now...Oh come on, can I can't put it any differently! I know people years younger than me that use way worse language!

  • A little moonlight magic,if you will

  • God, I love Queen.

  • The best duo ever: F. Mercury & R. Special xD

  • this is pure and utter magic.

  • glorious, colorful, fabulous memories of those days. No other guitarist cold touch this.

  • @pakleglia Apparently, he had a job lined up at the Jodrell bank radio telescope with some astronomer that had 'Sir' in front of his name! But yes, what a gamble - Queen were really strapped for cash in the first few years.

  • @pakleglia Doctorate, actually. One of only 6,000 btw - Brian May is a phenomenon.

  • saw them play this...was...of course

unbelievable...they did great king rat too...omg

  • This song and Stone Cold Crazy could be the true predecessor to thrash

  • pure

  • Queens earlier stuff is much better than their later stuff. the exception being Bohemian Rhapsody
