You've just answered a life long question for me. A neighbour gave me one of those when I was little and I always wondered why it had the holes in its mouth and teet... The cow was used and it was missing its accessories. So, I didn't know what it was used for. I assumed it something like that, but I wasn't sure either.

I wonder if mine still works now that I know what to do with it.

Yes, I remember. Actually, when I was very young, my next door neighbor was one of the kids that died. How tragic it was. If you Google "Milky Toy Deaths" you will see some documented cases, including his.

They were not so worried about the kids drinking the 'pretend milk'.. the major concern, and what eventually would happen, is some kid would inevitably use real milk once the tablets ran out (about 30 minutes after they get the toy) and a wekk later mom would be cleaning their room, wondering where that evil stench was coming from..

i loved this stupidass thing when i was 3. then again mom sent me to live on top of signal mountain with grandpa who had a farm. the mean bastard never let me see the animals other than the time he put me on the back of a cow, slapped its ass real hard & made it run across a field with me clinging on for dear life. Milky must have been my way of feeling like i could hang out with a nice animal & not get hurt. Dont mock her, she saved my 3 yr old sanity up on that hell hole mountain that summer.
