  • Great piece. I memorized it and now play it often in a piano solo version. Wouldn't it be great for Piano Duet?.

  • Good music is good music. I have no concern about the religion/faith of the composer.

  • Best not to reply and thereby even accidentally add any value to the semi-insane when they write you re. "christians" and "jews"--and a tip seems to be that such dolts cannot use language, e.g., capitalizing.

I enjoyed the march and tympani. The organ is the most majestic of instruments, and I regret that mere mortals cannot play the thing. I've tried. Starting at age 2 or 3 seems a requirement.

  • Thank you so much for these great videos. This is one of my favorites. You have such great control over organ.

  • Thanks for viewing and your kind comments.

  • Wonderful, I´m sawing all move. Very Nice. Gob bless you?

  • Fine job! Steere made good sounding instruments, I play an 1896 Steere tracker (and do a sad job of it)

  • Thanks for viewing and your comments. Glad that you enjoy your Steere.

  • The more I hear this, the more I love it. I can't thank you enough for enriching my musical experience as I had never heard this majestic march until I saw this video. If there are more great pieces like this out there I hope you find them and play them. Your videos are a real treat. Thanks so much.

  • You're most welcome. Thanks for your comments and for viewing.

  • Amazing! Earthshaking! I'm almost teary-eyed!!! Thank you and may the divine Meyerbeer bless you from the Heaven, because of this wonderful musical performance!

  • Thank you for viewing and your kind comments.

  • An amazing experience!

  • wonderful...the sonortiy of both instruments is aparent. Very nice..they blend very well

  • Wow, I've never seen this particular combination of instruments before!

  • How rare and wonderful!!!! A piece from my favorite all time opera by my all time favorite composer!Thank you for pubicly performing him! Long live Meyerbeer!

  • The congregation really enjoys this and we have a lot of fun too. Thank you for your comments!

  • Rock and roll!

  • omg, awesome, outstanding, brilliant, your music made my evening.

  • Thank you for your kind comments!

  • I have Piace Della Mensa, but cannot find a CD or MP3 containing this piece. Can you help? Thanks.

  • Any CD of the whole opera will have the original music. This is someone's arrangement of the music in the first act of "Les Huguenots" at the banquet of the Noblemen.

  • Outstanding! I'll bet that got the congregation's attention! I'll bet that they also all stayed for the entire postlude, which is a rare phenomenon at church services in general, unfortunately. We often use organ and brass with timpani, but I never would have dreamed that just organ and timpani alone would sound so good. Thanks for posting this wonderful video!

  • You're welcome. I've got a good group of folks who often stay for the postlude, but this week we certainly got the congregants attention and most stayed for the entire postlude. Glad that you enjoyed it.

  • Haha! My own church has a 3/33 Peragallo. It pales in comparison to this beautiful instrument. Thanks much for the specification. I especially like the Echo, as I happen to be a fan of the Vox Humana.

  • Lovely piece. I greatly enjoy the combination of organ and timpani, I would have never thought of it. How many ranks does the organ have? Great video~!

  • 48/49 ranks. The specification was too long to put here, but I added it to the right under video description.

  • Very enjoyable, I've never heard the music or a Steere organ. I play the organ also ...... where did you get the music ???? I looked via Google and so far nothing. You seemed to play plenty of notes without a page turn, even though there were repeats.

    Thanks !!!

  • Found it as a piano piece in a very old collection at a Flea Market - this is what I play from. The piano music is someone's arrangement of the music in the first act of "Les Huguenots" at the banquet of the Noblemen. Once we got our own timpani at Redeemer, I wrote out a part for them. The timpanist and I enjoy playing it - glad that you enjoy it too.

  • I have been trying to find a CD of this w/full orchestration. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Any CD of the opera "Les Huguenots" will have full orchestration. This is someone's arrangement of the music in the 1st Act at the banquet of the Noblemen.
