Everything you vote into law in terms of new/reformed government programs requires people to actually implement and run these programs which means someone has to get paid. Which means taxes. You do realize that your taxes tend to get raised up in cents for these kinds of things? Don't let them scare you out of doing the right thing by tugging on your wallet strings.

Republicans are scared shitless that Dems will get meaningful healthcare reform, including a public option. This is why they concoct and endlessly regurgitate this crap. They remember that when Lyndon Johnson initiated Medicare (a government-run program) it became so popular that for years the Democrats have held it up as the milestone it is. Most Americans should know they are being short-changed on healthcare compared to every other industrialized nation. Our system is a sad joke.
