Guess her mom didn't want to care for her hair, Chinese people think of long hair as trouble, I had short boy hair cut from birth til my grandmother stopped caring for me when I was about 6.
i am sure that the purpose for cutting this child's hair was to sell her hair to westerners for their hair extentsion. the hairdresser was to careful not to let any cut hair fall. but the overall result looked good.
if i get a daughter later in my life, i let her have her her as long as she wants!!! For me It doesn't matter if it takes much time to wash and dry the hair. I have long hair and im scared about haircutting, so i diddn't cut my daughters hair without ask her about she wants cut it short!

She is a very cute little girl and her hair looked lovely. I love the way she just stood there as her long tresses were snipped off. It's a great haircut and more girls should do this.

My daughter can have her hair as long as she wants... as soon as she's big enough to take care of it. In the meantime, as long as I'm the one combing it, picking gum out of it, and struggling to keep it out of her face/food/etc, I will determine how she wears it: short.
