Yea I visited hillsong with my sister too and i thought the very same thing...but when i did receive Jesus back into my life again in a small humble church, only then did i realise how much Jesus REALLY IS ALIVE, but i know what you mean when u say HYPE and i do believe that 'yes' there are some just enjoying the hype, but we shouldn't judge them AND we shouldn't judge YOU either!.
