The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is just really if you look at it is just Music Hall of Fame because not only are people like Metallica (I like Metallica) are in it, there are various artists, so i don't know why they call it Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, it should be the Music Hall Of Fame instead, because jazz, pop, and other types of music are in it, so it shouldn't just be rock and roll...

I just got back from the Hall of Fame 3 days ago. I must say it really bothered me by the lack of metal bands represented in the Hall. Metal has been a solid Genre now for over 25 years and it is more than clear that these idiots do not recognize it as a true Genre worthy of being noticed! Only a band like Metallica, which argueably was the biggest band in the World in the Early 90's manages to creep in the door. Just like many other things in the music world..you writers are full of crap!!

You may not like them as artist which is uderstandable because we all have our taste, but you can't deny the influence of RUN DMC in the Music world. I mean before there were Linkin Parks, Limp Bizjit, Kid Rocks, and many, many, many of the other bands out there today..there was RUN DMC. It's kind of like a metal head not giving proper dues to bands like Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin even because they are not metal. They paved the way! That make any sense?

hey jayhoy, I agree with what your saying but rap and disco for the most part have no connection to the rock. There can be an argument for run DMC but for the others forget it. Rock is from country and R&B, Blues, Classical etc. Especially after bands like KISS, Moody Blues and on and on cannot get in. Its just window dressing and for it to be relivent todays music. How can these acts get into the hall before real rock music makes it??? My suggestion is to call it the music hall of fame.

Hip hop music is a part of rock and roll. It comes from the same roots as rock. if you refuse hip hop/rap in the hall why not reject heavy metal, R&B, Rockabilly, Blues and Doo-wop too? Then nobody would have been inducted this year. Run DMC were one of the most ground breaking and influential groups of the 80s, they belong there. Besides, when Alan freed coined the term Rock and roll, he was putting all black music in that category, why would black music no longer be considered rock and roll?
