That building collapsing from the demolition shows that explosives were not used on 9/11. While that may sound odd, conspiracy theorists base their claim on the video of the towers collapsing, and visible mini explosion underneath. All that is is the pressure from the top, collapsing onto itself. When the superstructure was compromised by being hit, it was only a matter of time before the fire weakened the rest of it to the point that it collapsed in on itself, and then pancaked all the way down. Just like buckling in columns, the bahaviour is the same, and once those ties are removed the columns buckle, which is exactly what happened, floors collapsed, columns became more succeptible to buckling. But really once a floor falls its all over.

Have you considered the condition of the spray-on fireproof material that the exposed steel was coated with? or the lack of it, the doco I saw highlighted the problems they were having maintaining the coating as the original stuff wasn't staying put. I believe that it was asbestos, but that may be untrue. If it was designed for the jet fuel, it wouldn't have fallen down IMO.

Thing is though, jet fuel (aka refined kerosene) sitting in puddles (like it would have been at the towers) only hits about 500F. It can hit as high as 1800F, but that would only occur if pure oxygen is directed into the fire, which would have been impossible to achieve under those conditions. 500F does nothing to steel.

steel doesnt have to reach its upper critical temperature to change phase from BCC to FCC, and with phase changes comes changes in properties, steel baking at 500C is essentially an annealing process, and any unprotected steel would have become softer as time went on, however structural steel is low carbon content so it i softer by nature, but the heat still weakens it.

also consider the steel trusses that the floors were made from, as they heated up and began to yield it started tearing away the mounting points to the outer skin, which was a major load bearing system in the buildings, given time and heat all it took was one floor to drop, hammering the floor below, and pulling the outer skin inwards inducing a buckling failure in the outer skin.

Still, aluminum impacting cold steel beams wouldn't do enough damage to make them fail after they would heat up a bit. The aluminum was ripped to shreds just from impacting the outer shell of the building, not to mention the concrete it had to go to before hitting the steel. No office fire of any kind has ever caused a steel structured building to fail like that, and we both know that kerosene didn't reach anywhere near its maximum temperature.

Judging from that reply i dont think you really understand the science behind phase transformation of steel, if the insulation of the steel was not present, as much of it would have been blown off upon impact, and their was any fire present at all, whether office supplies or jet fuel of which their was both, the steel will weaken over time. You do realise that the WTC had more open uninterupted floor space than most buildings of comparable size, that was because of the style of construction they used. Normal buildings dont have load bearing facades, the WTC did. Knocking out 1/4 of the facade is the same as removing 1/4 of the columns from a regular building, and that happened prior to the fire.
