I remember even early in the '09 season, the Ferrari's and McLaren's were really underperforming, and yet most of the time, HE was the one leading the drivers who were expected to be at the front of the grid. He outperformed his team mate and Hamilton, the William's etc. It really was the crash that completely changed him, which is the biggest shame.
This is proof that the blown diffuser in 2011 has to go. Vettel, in Monaco this season, has similar tyres to the tyres here. Completely battered. But thanks to his blown diffuser giving him traction like TC, on shitty tyres, he kept two far more talented drivers of Button & Alonso to win, where as here, without the diffuser, an okay Rosberg in a Williams & A off-pace Massa in bad Ferrari, get passed him in two corners. FFS.
@SebbyHaughtonf1 actually it was the red flag that allowed vettel to win in monaco 2011. he was able to change his tyres at the red flag, and so for the last few laps he could easily hold off button and alonso
@thfFromRussia Massa in his good days back in 07/08 could race with the best of them... he showed that getting 6 poles and doubling his wins in 2008 .
@MetaKnightsKirby No 2008 was his best year I agree a little though but I don't know about that since his... accident happened in 2009 it's hard to forget what happened to him you know. I think his success in 2008 and confidence carried over into 2009 and he was able to scored points in a bad chassis. It's just hard for me to say anything was great about his 2009 season though since it was cut short and we can only think what could have been, I know what you're saying though.
IMO since Massa took the spring off his he is to cautious now. What does everone think?

2009 was the year that changed Felipe. in a bad way.
Ferrari123planb 7 months ago
He pushes more than hard. Just that everyone dismisses him after 2009.
I noticed, when Felipe overtakes, someone always has an excuse, making it look like "its easy".
I hope Kubica can recover too, but like Felipe, we don't know how much the crash affected him.

Wow i noticed last time that Massa is very accurate driver. He maybe doesn't push 110% of his car but drives just nice. Like to see him driving.

@jraybay People always forget 2009, which I think was his best showing. Grabbing strong points in a bad car consistently.
