If Roger Moore wasn't cast, and they never found him etc, they really should have cast William Gaunt from 'The Champions' tv show. He would have made a great English Bond, when I first saw him, I kinda saw Roger Moore in him straight away XD :L
@wincipoet Just FYI Ian Flemming was absolutely horrified when he found out Connery had been cast as Bond. He considered him a goon. Moore was in fact almost exactly as Bond was written by Flemming. Sophisticated gentleman and very British. I like Moore very much but only up to Moonraker. I think LALD, MWTGG, And SWLM. Were all classics.
Roger Moore may have his critics -as indeed he does.... But if Burt Reynolds was the alternative..... In the words of Amy Winehouse .... No, No, No....!
The classic Bond died after 1969 and enter a new phase.... a shit phase. Call him Banana Bond. His name is roger moore, he played Bond the most and ironically became the weakest.
@amarsbarr Yes, on 'Banana Bond' The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker and For Your Eyes Only represent a symbolic trilogy in which Roger Moore is seen in a yellow jump-suit.
@randomdave30 Sorry I didn't mean to be offensive to him, he's super cool and I've read his autobiography, and come to know a lot about Moore, but I almost hate his Bond. Meh I respect his thoughts and ideas on his bond image.
@randomdave30 I have to disagree with you about For Your Eyes Only. It was practically the only one where Moore's Bond was a more serious and dramatic Bond. It's the reason why it's probably my favorite of his. I do agree with you on Moonraker. Ironically, I'd say it was also Moore's most boring 007 movie.
I agree that Bond should always be British, or at least have a British-type accent. I've never understood why actors like Burt Reynolds and James Brolin were considered.
I saw this again last year and was astonished how bad Live and Let Die was, a totally inept film. Interesting documentary though, thanks for posting it!
jane seymore is still hot to this day

I couldn't imagine sean in this movie, Roger is a better choice. Sean was so tired of Bond in DAF, he would have dragged LALD down

Sean Connery is the greatest Bond...Roger Moore was such a wrong choice for the role ...just my opinion...

I was hoping to find this. Live and Let Die is one of the few films I have without the "inside" documentary.
