Great danes used to be used to hunt wild boar and other larger game. Their ears were "cropped" to reduce the risk of snags and other injuries when hunting, and going through heavy brush. I read that a while back...not sure if thats true though

Own a great dane myself, used to own two but had to get the other one put down, lost the use of his back legs in his old age due to spine problems. I love the breed, so cute and loving, only downside is their short life span, i wish they lived as long as smaller breeds, ie. 14-20 years.
I liked the video up to the point where he got his ears cropped. He was super cute until that point. Cropping Ears is just like declawing cats, unnessesary and cruel.

I have a few questions for you, but first let me say that is an awesome dog. I think the date is wrong when the video comes on so, how old was she? Second it had perfect ears so, did you get them cropped and how long did you keep them posted up before you removed the tape? I have had mine posted nearly a month now and they look great, but start to fold in the middle after a few days. I have a blue merle one and love it dearly so, you can check out my video if you like. It lived only 10 months. It died during the treatment of leishmaniosis. We cut the ears with 4 months of age. It was with the dressing per two weeks. The surgeon uses one technique of implantation of cartilage.

Own a great dane myself, used to own two but had to get the other one put down, lost the use of his back legs in his old age due to spine problems. I love the breed, so cute and loving, only downside is their short life span, i wish they lived as long as smaller breeds, ie. 14-20 years.

I liked the video up to the point where he got his ears cropped. He was super cute until that point. Cropping Ears is just like declawing cats, unnessesary and cruel.

Gorgeous Blue, but if you loved him so much why did you mutilate his ears? It serves no functional purpose to clip them. The flap serves to protect the ear, you've just exposed it. You are some sick people. How would you like if your mum clipped the tops of your ears? You people kill me with this loving video but you slice your dog.

I feel really sorry for you. I lost both my blue great danes. I lost my girl while she died in my arms going through her final seizure. My boy died because he was very old. He was 12.

Thanks for its commentary. It knows that the cut of the ears did not have nothing with the death of our dog. It died during the treatment (illegal in Brazil) of leishmaniose. Here the death of the sick dog is recommended. This is a stupid thing. I love my dogs and make what I can for them. Probably they are happyer than the ones that live with you. Worried about your life and leaves mine in peace. Fuck you.

First of all let me say that i can tell that you love your dog very much. The fact that you took the time in the after care of the cropping of the ears proves your dedication and love for her. Secondly, i looked up what you said your dog died of and it was from insects/parasites and had nothing to do with ear cropping, so do your fucking research Baybeh Becky08!!. .

im so srry i no wat its lik to lose a dog i lost my best friend in may i had him since forever since i was 2 and he was 12 1/2 wen he had to b put down but now i have a great dane my dog that died was not one but i have a great dane now but hes a pain in the ass haha urs is so kute she looks lik she went blind in the last picture

I have a few questions for you, but first let me say that is an awesome dog. I think the date is wrong when the video comes on so, how old was she? Second it had perfect ears so, did you get them cropped and how long did you keep them posted up before you removed the tape? I have had mine posted nearly a month now and they look great, but start to fold in the middle after a few days. I have a blue merle one and love it dearly so, you can check out my video if you like. It lived only 10 months. It died during the treatment of leishmaniosis. We cut the ears with 4 months of age. It was with the dressing per two weeks. The surgeon uses one technique of implantation of cartilage.

if you ever get another please don't think about doing such a painful and cruel thing to it. That cruelty has been banned in Europe for the past 30 years. I'm sorry for you though, I've just lost mine after 17 years. My whole life.

hi ik i lost my dog too and cropping the ears r in human so its wrong and thats y w/ my great dane that i jst got we r not doing that my old dog was not a great dane but he was awsum plus... he lived a gd life and was and still is my best friend he was my life and ive only known him fo rmy life but now idk wat im doing nemore i jst dnt remmebr ne of it
