My major study right now is Germany from 1919 - 1939, and i can safely say that it was NOT the nazis that primarily saved Germany economically. The early years of the Weimar republic, were terribly unstable. There were military coups, and an extreme lack of support for the democracy. Thanks to Gustav Stresemann, the foreign minister, Germany pulled out of economic and social turmoil and experienced stability from 1924-1929

The people, naturally, during a depression, blame the government. (Even though it was not the governments fault, it was due to lack of foreign loans and investor confidence due to the depression) so they turned to the extremist parties with their radical ideals in a desperate hope for a change

My best friend is an Army Ranger...not a terrorist. We are not talking here about US citizens. At least 15 % of those detained at Gitmo, and released, have returned to terrorist activities.
