My dad guarded New York harbor on 9/11. He got the USDOT ribbon for his efforts.

Why did we have to wait ten years to know that not only the US Coast Guard was involved in the rescue of people off the island, but there were ferry lines and personal boats that came to the aide of so many. These people that put their boats, crews, and themselves in harms way should given honorable mention also. Way to go - to All the ones that thought less of themselves and more of the brothers and sisters in need. God Bless!
