My good friend Dobkeratops decides to drop in and be a boss again, and he brought along a chest bursting friend! :D

Love R-Type Delta, finally picked it up on PSN for my PS 3, saves me from having to hunt down the PSX version for just awhile longer (it's not getting any cheaper).

Its like the designers cant make up their mind if the Bydo are supposed to be organic or technological in nature.

Nonetheless, its nice to see Dobkeratops again. Of course how is he able to come back when you clearly killed him in the first game?

Rtype Command explained alot without saying much, as well as Final. There were 4 Dobkeratops in Command, 1 the Humans even made as a lab pet.

Bydo fuse with anything, organic and inorganic. They take everything and convert it into weapons.

Doesn't matter whether it's organic stuff or mechanical stuff, it's just evil thing.

BTW, the fighter that appears just before Dobkeratops is R-9 Arrowhead(Stage 4 boss) and R-11B Peace maker.

This R-9 is ruled by Bydo and, in a word, ally's base has entered such a state because of the cell of Bydo transmitted by R-9.

If you get unlimited continues on delta, you can probably beat it if you're determined enough. it just requires testing a lot of strategies

No, you get 5 until you break 3 hours, then you get 9, I got up to level 6 on easy mode before game over ;-;

Yup. Stage select is a pain though. you gotta use the delta weapon 10,000 times. good luck on that.

Regardless, with the unlimited continues you can just keep trying different methods of getting past each segment till you find sure fire ways.

This game is so great. This is the most scary R-Type ever. R-Type Delta by Irem and Zanac X Zanac obviously are the best PSX shooters.

Dobukeratops, best R-Type boss of all time. Without Dobukeratops, there is no R-Type. He's the best because he resembles Ridley Scotts Alien designs from the movies. Im sure that was the intial concept for Dobukeratops.

Hes like a cross between Ridley Scotts Alien, and a duranged seahorse. My favorite boss.

well when it gets to r type delta and final yeah they can be gory but the master system version and other versions wouldnt be scary and gory

Just what I was about to say. So far there's two issues I have to agree with this (though I still like the series)

This one: It has the most Blood effects I've seen compared to other games in it's series yet. Though that changes nothing much.

The one I own (R-Type Final): there's a disturbing background in Stage F-A (Final Stage - Path 1) hard to see it, but it has a boy and girl doing....?! (and it's rated E?)

I always had to turn on the invincibility code to get past this boss. Those cells he spits out were always impossible to dodge... :(

I never could get past that boss. I always had to use the invincibility code. It was too hard to dodge those sperm looking objects he spits out of his mouth. On Easy mode, I could beat any other part of the game (after losing a few lives and using a few continues), but not that boss. :(

i like R-13 too, but i never played R-type final. for my old style so i want to watch R-13 fight in R-type final : ) (you are a player of R-13 but not stage 3.5 one hehe)

You must use RX-12 to get into stage 3.5 , like using Bydo System Alpha to play F-B . Otherwise , it is meaningless.
