Savage Worlds (EE) is a fast-paced system that uses single die rolls to determine resolutions to the Player Character's actions. Normally a 4, sometimes higher, is the number needed to succeed in such determinations. Unless you have an experienced Game Master it would be best to buy, borrow or steal a Campaign Setting (book) that uses the Savage Worlds system.
The settings are endless if you use your imagination to create them, however the various-themed tomes already at hand are venerable cornucopia of gaming experiences. Savage Worlds also has a site dedicated to answering Game Master and Player questions alike, hedged into their seemingly endless drove of bloggers.
Haha! Awesome! I played GURPS with my brother's friends and it was pretty awesome. Just wish we had more original storylines, though. It always came to be that we were some type of hired mercenaries, and I'd always try to make a character that was awesome and funny. Last time I played, we were in a steampunk type of setting and I was Antonio Banderas from Desperado. That was my character's actual name... I made the DM say it in its entirety everytime he had to call on me to do something.
I tried an RPG once back in the 80's with my cousin and his friends. The Dungeon Master kept screaming "SAY IT IN YOUR CHARACTER'S VOICE"!!! He finally got so frustrated he left in tears. I was scared straight from the whole scene for life.
i got the explorers edition and Fantasy companion for 30 dollars. Great deal.

I love how enthusiastic Andrew sounds when he says, "A game of your IMAGINATION!".
