The iPhone is a complex machine, restarting is like taking a nap for it and help keep in line.

no its because that it has solid state ram

so if you start up safari or any app that came with your iphone it stores it in the ram until you re open it then it deletes it from the ram.

long time use (ie. a day)

can leave you with only 5mb of ram left

restarting leaves you with 50mb of ram

when you have low amounts of ram a application either crashes to home screen or slows it down by loading each individual frame.

(ram= random access memory)
