  • My grandma/mom makes this all the time. I'm so lucky to be Russian. I get this food all I want! ;D

  • @linkaqt1 Very time consuming to prepare ... but I can eat a million of em!

  • It looks so delicious. Your way of adding pepper is interesting, why to put a pepper seed into dumpling?

  • @Krasov92 ... That taste of pepper is so important ... the whole pepper corn in each one ensures consistancy and delightful flavor with each and every bite!

  • YAM YAM YAM

  • @LiAk0sW4y

    Mmmnnnn Good!

  • Very nice. Thanks for sharing. To make dough, was that flour egg, water, salt?

  • @stairs021 Was surprising to me how simple it was to make dough, especially with that mixing machine that Gary has ... don't think the salt was used in the dough though. Will say that the salt and pepper were the only ingredients in the meat.

  • For Tuesday 21/06/11 :D

  • The market was fresh out of bear, so we went with a blend of steer and pig ... justafiably so, there's much old tradition attached to Russian pelmeni, simple, yet delicious !

  • Real russian pelmeni was with meat of a bear. Now it's only pork...

  • @Ralfiukas because pig meat is better than the bear meat

  • Only one kind of dumpling ... the white you may be refering to is the dallop of sour cream as a compliment to dip the vinegar soaked, meaty little dumplings into before the delight of consumption ! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Wow This is so interesting. The Pemeni are boiled in Pickling Spice infused water? Then sprinkled with white vinegar at the table? What were the other whiter dumplings? Thanks so much for sharing this.
