Ilinois and Wisconsin are the only states that don't allow concealed carry? Better throw New Jersey in there. That's partly why New Jersey is a dump, which I say as a person born and raised in that state, though fortunately I've since moved to Pennyslvania where the government doesn't pass legislation making me a ripe target for criminals.

Good presentation and well said but we all know that the laws are not designed to protect "the average citizen". They are generally written by our millionaire socialist rulers to protect themselves and their corporate masters against the people in general. They exempt themselves from any meaningful restrictions which they impose on the public at large. They constantly play class-envy or racial difference to continue the scam.

Unfortunately, it's not about safety, it's not about personal protection. It's about creating a class of citizen that is allowed to carry. Our politicians are exempt from gun control laws. Why is that? As long as there are enough victims, there will be a reason for more repressive laws. As for the criminals, they don't care. Pass every law on the planet. It makes no difference to them.

Chitown does not need ANY more firearm regulation. As of now, firearms are banned...can't get no more strict than that. According to the patchwork of the ban, the residents should'nt be dying from anything except OLD AGE! This is VERY true. Criminals are not going to obey gun bans because they are criminals, so they don't care. All you're doing is just taking guns away from law-abiding citizens that want to defend themselves. If every law-abiding citizen had a gun, it would act as a deterant for criminals.

Thankfully, I live in Florida so I can actually keep mine in my car without a permit! I just wish all states were like us...and most others.

violent crime does drop. In Washington D.C the violent crime rate has dropped quite a bit since the ban was struck down. And I am not sure they have ccw's available to them

While it is true that 48 states have ccw laws, in some of them it is still impossible for the average citizen to obtain a permit. In parts of Massachusetts and New York it is next to impossible. New Jersey and Maryland are effectively non issue as well as Hawaii where only two permits are known to have been issued. So some state are still unConstitutionally infringing on their citizens most basic of rights. Discretionary issue has to go.
