New mac has nice booting time its similar with my 2.8ghz i7 windows 7 64 bit extremme edition my pc boots in 15 sec but this after i tweaked my windows and turned off some services and used a program to rewrite down bootings files in a fast disk partition. Still i like mac's because i hear some of my friends say that they are good but what about games and applications?

Lol why do people seem to think PC's get viruses all the time? They don't... Mostly just the morons who don't have anti-virus software bootlegging everything in site. And actually PC's over all go faster than mac's and are much more customizable. However, if you want some of the features on the PC that a mac offers those cost a lot extra. My PC has 3.6 Ghz Intel Quad Core with 4 GB of Ram and a 5850 graphics card with a 22 inch HD monitor. 5 times the speed for about half the price.

Shouldn't it be based upon your downloads? due to the fact that your older imac is older (downloaded a ton before, a lot more apps, abused over time, etc )... the speed of the new imac should be definitely quicker (completely clean hard drive, etc)

but it really depends on how many online downloads you have downloaded...

soon, your new imac may lower its performance greatly.. it really depends..?

But if you'll never need to take your Mac with you, I believe a desktop iMac will give you better speed and slightly more robust performance due faster internal drives and video card performance than you typically can get in a laptop. If you want a game machine, you want the iMac. Still, the MacBook Pro is by no means a shabby performer - for a notebook.

I'm still using my 2008 20in 2.66ghz Duo Core 2 iMac with 4GB of ram and it still works great. I did notice with Snow Leopard it slowed down a little even though my system is 64bit top to bottom. Still, it runs everything great and I love it.
