  • They're all died

  • We will remember them. RIP each and every one of these heroes.

  • We will remember them always

  • I think there is two: Claude Choules and Frank Buckles. Try to check wikipedia.

  • respect for all the soldiers that died !

i think about them every day!

  • They really believed what they were fighting was the war to end all wars.

Little did they realise that those who run our nations love war and always would.

If anything war has became more sophisticated and modern technology can ensure more innocent bystanders are killed as well as the so called enemy.

The message of the real heros like Harry Patch and co. has been lost.

it matters not whether our leader is Blair, Brown or Cameron, one certain thing is they will lead the UK into war.

  • @nacho1560

Politicians have no problem convincing every new generation that war is "necessary" and for their "security" and "freedom". Hitler used the very same words as did Goebbels when the war took a turn for the worse.

That's because the youth are driven by fear and ignorance in general. "Get them before they get us".

Remarque's "All Quiet on the Western Front" should be compulsory reading for kids in school, but I believe the message in with fly straight above most head anyway.

  • @McLarenMercedes I haven't read the book but I've seen the film made in the 1930's and the end really got to me. When the main character died, I couldn't help but cry and couldn't stop thinking how terrible it must've been for them.

  • A moment of silence, in honor of the Last Tommy

  • God rest them all rest in peace Mr Harry Patch and thank you from all Canadians. My great grandfather served with the Royal Flying Corps and flew missions over Vimy and Passchendaele.. he died when i was 5. god rest them all..

  • I have been to the Menin Gate and all Great War battlefields quite a few times and it is an experience. It is very hard to get your head round it when you see all the names.

  • long live are harry

  • Harry Patch the only survivor now

  • My Grandfather fought at Passchendale, he survived but was permanently scarred by what he witnessed, he lost three of his friends in a matter of minutes.

A hell on earth, may they all rest in peace.

    We Will Remember.

  • Quite right.

    He will not be forgotten.

  • Nous n'oublions pas! Tous kes jours, à la porte de Menin à Ypres à 20Hre00 est sonné le Lasp Post et le "Reveille" devant une foule nombreuse et recueillie! Jamais il ne faut Les oublier!

  • I look at these men with great pride, they are true hero's.

  • Absolutely, there'll never be another generation like them.

  • So true, my friend. But have we learned anything at all since 1918?

  • True men who understand the band of brothers that we as 21st century boys can hardly find. True heroes. Let us remember them, so they can live forever in our memories.

  • @dunkindutchman Amen

  • Everyone a Hero

  • hero's all

  • They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years contemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

    We will remember them.

  • Amen to that.
