  • some of you know the name of this kind of flute at minute number 2 ????

  • MUSICA MARAVILLOSA!. One of the best acts from the 80's. If not THE BEST.

  • dreams... sit down some night, and jam with Yes, al demeola, and Shadowfax. Ahhhhh:)

  • Some say the first "New Age" band was Shadowfax. What a unique band. I was involved in their music from the early stages. On Odd get Even The song "Her dress hangs there ought to be titled "Elepahnts march your Street. Check it out.

At Berkley there should be class on their music. Chuck Greenberg RIP

  • What kills me is how dead on these guys are. You play this live track and a track from "Odd Get Even" and I challenge you to find a significant difference.

  • Uff sper podrian subir el video de anoyher country en vivo

You can upload the video " another country in live " thank you gracias.

  • I've been listening Shadowfax long time ago their music feeds my heart and spirit when I need inspiration, the violinist Charly Bisarat one of the former members is actually playing with the band of Strunz and Farah.

  • music is life

  • Shadowfax is a great band from Papua New Guinea, it shows the diversity of influences it has. You can tell they're inspired by music from Simon Bolivar to William Shakespare.

One thing I learned from them is to accept music, and not to deny it. How can you deny math and not accept math?

  • Beautiful.............wow!

  • YAY!:)

  • Like facets on the sacred crystal of life, each one unique and beautiful in it's own way, some music, by the nature of it's essence, human and divine... Just remains...magic

Shadowfax music is such as this...

  • Awesome...!!!

  • timminananda yes , Stu Nevitt passed away on Mar. 15,2008 at his home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, of complications from type 1 diabetes and heart disease <:( It was in Stu's Illinois farmhouse in 1972 where the members of Shadowfax began as a group. After the group stopped recording and touring in 1995 due to the death of Chuck Greenberg, Nevitt continued to perform and record, most recently producing and releasing his first solo project, The Marion Kind"

  • Will always be top 3 bands. Seen them twice live. 86 & 87. Seen them with Montreux. Great musical bands of the 80's.

  • Thanks for posting. This was actually from 1995 in Santa Cruz, California at a club called Palookaville.

  • my mom used to put this music on for me as a kid at nighttime. It brings back so many memories and it's very relaxing. Thank you so much for uploading this.

  • Scott Cassu on piano is awesome, they are part of Windham Hill records I believe, try watching a DVD called Waters Path, it came out in the late eighties, great stuff, a lot of SF!

  • This has to be later than 1987, the second and final time that I saw them (in Dallas; first time was in Cleveland in 1983). When I saw them in Dallas, G.E. Stinson was still with them. G.E. later played a lot with LA percussionist Alex Cline, which I had first known about in late 1989.

Who is the guitarist in this version of the group? He does not look familiar...

I was also to see Shadowfax open for Jan Hammer in early 1976(!) in Detroit, but I was snowed out. Any reports of that gig?

  • @russumm1 The guitarist is Andy Abad. This is from their "Live" album, made not long before Chuck Greenberg died. You can still find the video of the concert floating around if you look. It's worth getting.

  • Pure genius...

  • Thanks so much for uploading this. Shadowfax will always be one of my favorite groups of all time. Sigh, BillyRayDrums, I am so sorry that Stu Nevitt passed away, that makes me so sad, seeing as Chuck Greenberg is gone to music heaven also!

  • I never knew some of their players passed away...collected their Cd's, I play them when I want to feel peace...everything is in total harmony with Universe here....great, great music....thank you all.

  • Stu Nevitt passed away?

  • I miss my friend Stu Nevitt. He also passed away. He was an incredible person.

  • This Concert is from 1995, it is from the last shows they did before their Sax player, Chuck Greenburg passed away.

  • The harmony of the SOUND.

    Peace and Love

  • Find them on iLike and Facebook too! These guys make fantastic music and many of them are still out playing great music: google "halfmonk" - -

  • I had forgotten how good these guys are. Thanks for the posting!

  • I miss their music so much.

  • you know what...... ME TOO

  • You miss their music? When I miss their music, I simply pop one of their CD's in my player and they're back playing again.

  • I'm pretty sure this was live in 1995, not 1987

  • Thanks for posting this. They were a totally unique and amazing band. I wish these videos were available on DVD!

  • Yeah, I know! Their is DVD called Windham Hill in Concert or something. It features Shadowfax as one of the groups, but I remember seeing some PBS Special a long time ago as a kid that was awesome. I wish THAT was on DVD too!

  • The PBS Special was "An Evening Windham Hill" and it was live at Wolftrap Farm just outside of Washington DC in Virginia.

  • this get better evey time i listion to it!!! omg i miss this music!!!
