I was taking 14 (50mg) pills a day. I managed to cut down to 8 pills then went cold Turkey. I could get the pills online, unlimited, that's why I was on so many. But I didn't know what to do once I stopped. I knew I had to get off of it. While all the withdrawal symptoms are terrible to experience, it is the restless leg syndrome and profound sense of emotional sadness that made it so unbearable. Fortunately I found this video, I had a TENS unit at top of closet. helped with RLS! Thank u. ~Danny
Dude I finally got a TENS unit and it is amazing! I've managed to cut down my intake of tramadol to around between 200mg-300mg a day. I'm hoping to step myself off over the next month or so. This I bought the Ultima 20 for 40 dollars on amazon. This thing is so POWERFUL. Thanks for making this video.
continuing along, i do know exactly all the things you speak of, that restless everything. it's your body and muscles and nerves just fighting you and hating you for not giving it the tramadol.
scrambled brain, cold sweats, feeling so hot i have to tear my clothing off down to boxers, and 20 min later freezing to death and having to put on 4 layers of clothing. rinse repeat, rinse repeat.
again, a great public service you're doing, especially speaking about the TENS units. thank you, sir
23 days into detox and the help of 1/4mg clonazapam for 3 night to get back on sleep schedule and Jesica is sleeping through the night. Yeah! Tramadol withdrawal actually does have an end! :-)
Thank you! I am seeing some improvement, little by little. Her days are totally normal other than some sleepiness but her nights are still interrupted by restless legs and jerking awake. At least last night she slept from 5:00am until 10:00am. I was so happy! :)
Your video is wonderful! I'm glad there are people like you helping and giving other people hope and encouragement. You make my heart happy! Sincerely, Kristi K.
She was taking 3 50mg pills throughout the day. I think it's so hard on her because she has a disability and is unable to sooth herself. Thank you again for the video.
@MrKorbz Your welcome. I would think that the withdrawals ought to subside anytime now. I wish I had more info for you, but given that your daughter is quadriplegic that might throw my estimation off. Hopefully the symptoms will disappear very soon. I wish your daughter the best.
Thank you for the video. My adult quadriplegic daughter was put on tramadol while waiting for surgery approval and had to stay on it for 6 months. She has been off it for about 20 days. She can not speak but her withdrawal is definitely restless leg syndrome! It's awful she only sleeps 2-3 hrs a night.
Can you please tell me how long this usually lasts? :(
It's heartbreaking to watch this happen when she's unable to move or talk. She took this nasty drug as prescribed. Tramadol is awful!
TrueLife Adventures. I want to Thank you for posting the video's you have posted. I have been taking Ultram now for the past 8 years and so want to stop taking them but go through all the withdrawls you have mentioned. I do have a tens unit I will try to use for my legs and my arms and hands. It's a HORRIBLE withdrawl symptom on top of all the others. I have been taking 2 Ultrams 4 times a day. How long with I go through these withdrawls? I have tried to quit 5 times and bailed. Please Help!
@mysticaldream2012 I'm glad my vids have helped you in some small way and I appreciate your comments! I can't say for sure how long your withdrawals will last, but I hope you hang in there this time and go all the way! Question: what's the longest that you've gone without Tramadol and did the withdrawals force you to get back on it every time?
@4801328 Hopefully the TENS will help a little as it did me. I just set it to whatever was comfortable, but I don't remember exactly what it was. Just try a few different ones and see how it goes. Sorry I didn't respond back sooner! Thanks and good luck!
Cheers for this video :) been on Tramadol for 5 years here and any support is welcome. I've not had any more restless leg syndrome more than before, but it's just dealing with boredom.
Benadryl or Robitussin (w/ Guiafassin) helps alot, as well as any kind of sleeping pill or muscle relaxer. If you are taking high doses of Tramadol, start cutting pills up and come down slowly. You will have temporary fatigue, memory lapses, ringing in ears, anger, depression as well as the muscle cramps. Cut back when you have a couple of days vacation, then maintain that lower dose until you get the chance to cut down again. I wouldn't recommend stopping cold turkey.
@JJusticeification I would not take Benadryl with an over the counter sleeping pill. Most (not all) otc sleeping pills contain the same active ingredient as Benadryl which is diphenhydramine. Taking these together would result in a "doubling-up" of the same ingredient causing a reverse effect. As for me, cutting back did not lessen the pain of withdrawals...all it did was drag them out longer. However, cold turkey is not for everyone and I appreciate your comment.
I appreciate what you're doing, but to be honest, tramadol withdrawals = joke. I've been using up to 900mg of tramadol orally every day, along with codeine up to 700mg.. Then I moved to o-desmethyltramadol, injected up to 120mg.. I used to do this for roughly 8 months and withdrawals are no worse than a light case of flue. The only bothering thing was restless legs, which then resulted in insomnia.. But come on, making a video for something like this?
@Morr1992 People like you could always be more tactful when leaving your comments. I would respect you more had you said something like this---"I appreciate what you're doing, but I really haven't experienced these kinds of withdrawals personally. I suppose everyone is different and I should count myself lucky to have not suffered as others have. Thanks for your video and even though I didn't go thru these things, I'm glad you're trying to help other people in some small way."
I find it ironic that tramadol is widely prescribed to individuals who suffer from RLS. I myself have experienced these withdrawl symptoms from both tramadol and other opioid medications. And just as you describe, its some awfull, awfull stuff.
@TrueLifeAdventures u are a stick in the mud. By the way i prob know more about the withdrawls than you. Not that its anything to brag about. Ive a people try to tell me its impossible to withdrawl from the trammies. The ONLY way to beat it quick is suboxone or methadone. Thats not a good alternative though!!! I know people who have been taking subs for 4yrs. Your supposed to quit after 3mths or 6.... anyways now hes really screwed cus hes hooked on those and withdrawling from the antiwithdraw
@joshuaadamcox I couldn't care less that you know more about withdrawals than me. Since you're the expert here why don't you put up a video and help people out instead of coming to mine and complaining that I'm a stick in the mud. I mean do something constructive or informative.
@joshuaadamcox On the first comment i did thank you for posting videos to help people. However I dont need to post ten min videos to tell people the only wat to beat the withdrawls. To ease one does not come close to working for everyone suffering cus they are different. You are boring though ...sorry to try and advice you on how to reach more people......
@joshuaadamcox You will be blocked and I will have the last word because this is my video...not yours. If you want to change the rules then make your own video and say whatever you want.
@TrueLifeAdventures --- yea man, i be hatin *mhen the$e fagget$ be talkin $hit on people$ utube video$.... If they dont like it, they can make theyre o*mn fuckin video and talk $hit there.
i have ocd, depresion and anxity panic attacks, i have noticed when i take tramdol...all 3 dont efect me as much...i am on 50mg, i can take 1 to 2 a day...my worry is that will after a while ill have to take more and more to get the same afect? i dont mind taking 1 to 2 pills a day the rest of my life IF it helps my mental issues, but if i have to evetualy take MORE to get the effect....that worries me
This drug is an absolute beast!!! Iv come off 300mg oxy/day and the trammys are 5 times worse to me. Hands down suboxone w/ cyclobezaprine! But the restless legs i found no help for
I wanted to tell you that I am on day 6 of my tramadol withdrawal and you're video helped a good deal, Just by knowing that I wasn't going to die was good enough for me. You should stress that there is a difference between addiction and dependance though. I took like you just what my doctor told me too, and it was horrific. Thank you SO much for helping me go through this.
You're looking kind of sexy in that baseball hat and with that tiny beard, dude...are U gay or str8? what about having sex? did that help you with your tram addiction?
...Just cause when I'm on DHC for example I became sooo hypersexual..:))
-_- its been half a day without n e ultram for me and this sucks really bad my body is so restless but when i get up to move i get hot flashes and i get the cold sweats at night :\ not to sound weird but when im withdrawlin i masturbate alot n get very hungry also im not very motivated when sick i take about 8-14 trams a day for the past 3 years im so dependent on them without them id prolly kill myself lol i dont think clearly when i dont have them
Restless eggs is the worst, common with opiate withdrawal , the fuckers will not keep still and drive you crazy, tie them up.Stick the electrodes on your nipple and up the anus, WORKS.
not bad advice. im on day three w/out tramadol, and it hasent been fun to say the least. I have a tens unit and prescribed muscle relaxers; gonna try them tonight. Your vid would be better if didn't dip through it.
Thank you! For some reason I never thought of looking on Youtube for help. I'm trying to stop cold turkey off of 400 mg/day Tramadol and I'm just terrified of the withdrawal symptoms as I have tried to quit before and it was pure hell. I have the tens unit already & know many physical therapy techniques that I can utilize with the muscle relaxers I never used. Thank you so much for the information; I am now more optimistic about quitting.
@stpurple3o I didn't find much out there on this subject on the net...mostly grim forums and stuff. So that's why I put a video up a few vids on Youtube dealing with Tramadol withdrawals. Hope you find them helpful and I hope you're able to quit. Good luck and thanks for the view and the comment!
Holy hell the restless leg thing is killing me I nearly kicked a hole in the wall last night from sheer aggravation. But I'm in highschool and have no money to buy that thing you said helps what can I do???
Btw, sometimes I have to take ultram because every now and then I have sever back pains and nothing else works.
@itsleahdarling Yeah, those restless leg symptoms really, really suck. I used a muscle relaxer sometimes and that helped. Try getting someone to massge your legs for you at bedtime. I know it's hard, but hang in there. If you have back pain and you must use Ultram, try using it only when you have to have it. Good luck!
hi man hope you could read my first comment . I then snorted another capsule about 10 mins ago , and im feeling wrecked off it i was enjoying it at first but now im trying really hard not to be sick. and unbelievably ichy everywhere is this normal? and if so how long will i feel like this and is there anyway to stop it? and can i sleep or would that be a bad idea im just trippin coz it said online that overdose can cause death n ive had 400mg in a few hours let me no if u can or anyone that can
hi man, ive taken tramadol for the first time tonight and i have a few questions.... early on in the night i had half a litre of vodka and was given a sheet of tramadol wich had 10 capsules in (50mg) .... i took 2 and i stopped drinking and for about 2 hours didnt really feel the pills, i think it could have been because of the alcohol, so i ended up taking 3 and waited around 10 mins by this time i was sobering up ...then i opened 2 and swallowed them open ill post another comment
(2 of 2) taking 14, but 14 only cut it for like 3 months & I started taking 16 & my supply that I had pretty good stockpile of is really close to out. I tried taking 12 again, I really did but the longest I went was 1 day & time literally began to slow down slower & slower & I begin to feel so genuinely insane in such a bad way. That 5 hours was like 9 hours to me & it seriously got so bad after 1 day the only way I knew out of it was to take more which I did. now even when it feels good im
(1 0f 2) O man I might be in big trouble, 1st of all I just wanna know how long were u taking Tramadol & how much of it? I mean how many mg a day were u takin 4 how long? cuz I have been getting a 240 script 4 about the last 3 & 1/2 years & been taking all of every script plus 4 about the last year I hav been buying someone else's script who also gets 240 but he gives me between 170 - 200 at the most. For the longest time I took 12 a day but about 5 months ago 12 stopped cutting it & I started
@Ac1DGoD I took 50 mg twice a day for about 5 years. I would say that you are in for a very wild ride. But...it can be done. Be safe and get off it as soon as possible.
@TrueLifeAdventures how long did it take from right when you stopped taking it to when everything got back in gear normal would you say. Yea fuck this, now im just constantly worried about running out and when I do- what im in for, I should almost just trow them in the toilet & get it over with since while I have them I can't fucken take any less then what im up to.
@Ac1DGoD For me the withdrawals lasted about 6 days and then I was MUCH better. It also took a few weeks for my sleep patterns to return to normal, but once the withdrawals are gone you'll feel 100% better! I encourage you stop by any means and get your quality of life back! Good luck my friend!
try a nutrinal supplement called GABA it helps with all the withdrwal sypmtoms a good 70% of it the rest u have todo. and get tylenole extra strenght for the pain. also if u want to clean out your liver from all the pills u been taking get a another nutinal supplement called milk thistle.@Ac1DGoD
@BigGunsBradford It's kinda strange...many people can take it for only a day or two and have withdrawals. Others are different and can take it for longer without too much trouble. I think most people fall into the first category based on what I have heard from comments on my videos. It's a crazy drug that's for sure. Thanks for your view and comments!
Hey man I just recently was prescribed ultram and within 3 days of taking the pills in a daily regiment I stopped because of fear of addiction and now I have restless legs and arms. Is it just me or does the withdrawl come with a lengthy time of use or really anytime of use with this drug
thanks for the video. I have the same exact symtoms, restless leg and insomnia, also while taking it I had nausea and nightmares. I have a bad back and I have taken just about every pain killer out there and I have never had symtoms like these, what a horrible drug, I am telling my dr no more.
anyone looking to get off of any opiate should look into this plant called "Kratom" It's 100% legal and feels exactly like an opiate. (it activates the same MU receptors as opiates) Anyway, i wouldn't use Kratom too long but it really takes away any withdrawals (for me completely) I used it just to bypass withdrawals from opiates a long time ago. Do a google search on it.
Yes, Thank you. After reading this even though I was still feeling depressed I felt much hope knowing that it's related to me not taking the tramadols anymore. And as you said, it'll be over with in a few days.

is there any relation to tramadol withdrawal and depression?
I have really run low on my supply even run completely out, over the past 3-4 weeks and without warning I plummeted into a very dark depression. I can't believe how sudden and strong this depression came on.
@dreinca1 In my opinion...yes. Tramadol has certain anti-depressant properties so when you suddenly stop taking it you get the feeling that all is not right. However, this goes away within a few days and you will return to better than normal after it gets out of your system. I encourage you not to take them if you don't really have to and I hope that this info has been beneficial to you. Good luck my friend and thanks for the view and the comment!
@dreinca1 YES, definitely. Tramadol is an "opioid like" drug AND an SSRI which is what anti-depressants are. That is the reason for the depression. This same exact thing happened to me about 3 years ago. I got into using this evil pill and without warning, depression came on like a bat out of hell and it wasn't until I stopped using it that it happened. Get off of it now, i'm serious.. It'll take a few months for the depression to lift but it will.
thx for the vids bro.. am clean for 3 days now..ur vids helped me quite a lil, i hope ill make it to the end.. here in bosnia u can buy tramadol on the streets and in every shop.. so its rly hard to get out and stay clean. cheers!
also, forgot to mention I was originally given this drug for Degenerative Disc Disease in L1 & L2 of my lower back as well as a pinched nerve in my upper back. It's chronic, long gterm & will never go away, not something that can be cured with the exception of a spinal fusion which still doesn't get rid of the daily pain & shooting pains down the back of m y legs, hip & thighs. Sadly Tramadol is the only help. I refuse to take narcotics as I'm taking care of my son & drive a lot.
.....(cont) the withdrawals will not be as bad. It depends on how long you have taken it & how much. Imodium helped my stomach for withdrawal. Benadryl helped at night to help me sleep. I also had Valium & Klonopin to use if it got real bad but I only used 1 Valium. The mental crap is what is the worst because of the anti depressant in it, your brain forgets how to naturally make serotonin (the feel good hormone your brain makes) since Tram does it all. Again though, after 5 days I'm ok.
Been on it off & on for 4 yrs. Stopped cold turkey a few times. Recently took it from Oct 2010 till last Sunday & the wtihdrawal only lasted about 5 days & on the 6th day I felt fine. Had stomach issues, anxiety etc. It's for pain but has that hidden anti-depresant in it so it acts on your serotonin as well so coming off of it can cause depression which is the WORST, docs conveniently leave out the SSRI effect of it. I just got more & as long as I take it every now & then not every day.....
Yes, this drug is addicted. I'm using from 20 up to 30 pills A day for the last four years. Most of the time I took the pills for no reason not because I'm in pain. I can't sleep early like before usually 6 in the morning. I have no interest in social just stay home and smoke two pack of cigarette. Now I don't know how to get rid of it since I have severe herniate disc.

Respond to this video... tram addiction is a bitch. i been takin it for six years and im only 25.its very addicting.i didnt start taking it because i was perscribed it. i was given a couple to try and i was hookd instantly. it got so bad i pretty much pawned all my valubles just to go buy a fix. so i think the docs dont know a dam thing about this drug. anyway i still abuse this drug and desperatly need to get off this.
I was taking Tramadol for over three months, but stopping taking it was not that bad. Bit anskty for three or four days, and restless legs and arms, that was about it.
I suffered from serious restless legs before I had to take tramadol for three months for a back injury. Tramadol cuts out the RL syndrome. I now know why I developed restless ARMS after laying off the Tramadol!
Hey TrueLife - Thanks for posting these videos. Before viewing them I was reading online about the drug and I'm SO shocked that Doctors: 1) prescribed it to you for long, and 2) denied any addiction related to the drug. Have you considered seeking legal counsel regarding malpractice? Here are some links on Tramadol ALL of which verify and even emphasize that it is HIGHLY addictive! Most say it should not be taken for more than 5 DAYS!

@cadzan07 Thank you for your view and comments! Yes, I was prescribed the medication for almost 5 years which is ridiculous. I began to build up some kind of tolerance to Tramadol after that amount of time and it seemed that it just didn't work the same as it had in the past. All thru that time I was assured by my doctor that this drug was not in any way addictive. I find that notion laughable now. I believe that anything has the potential to become habitual and addictive.
@mrgetrealpeople Thankfully, after leaving Tramadol behind I have very little pain compared to what it was when I was on Tramadol. Besides the occasional aches that we all suffer from time to time I feel pretty good. Thanks.
@cadzan07 As far as malpractice goes, I've heard a few others talk about this and they say that their lawyers told them that it could be done, but that it was tricky and would be expensive. I dunno about the legal side of it, but I wish that I had the time and money to go after the people who push this drug on an unsuspecting and misinformed public. Thanks for joining in the conversation my friend!
Also helps to take a hot, hot bath.. as hot as you can stand it. After a while in the tub, I wrapped myself in a towel and laid in bed still damp underneath. I fell asleep every time. Strong coffee in the morning helps too.
Never thought of a Tens device as a option for RLS. I have horrible RLS when stopping tramadol. I am going to get one now and see if it works:) THANKS!!!!!!!
withdrawals of any opiate, just to know other people have gone through the same thing. Because when it happened to me, I had no clue what withdrawals were or that Ultram/tramadol even caused them! My ignorance was my punishment. All I wanted was relief from severe pain & something that made it easy to fall asleep, and I didn't know what the consequences were. It's your body, but at least be careful, and be informed.
and this would go on for 1-3 hours before I would finally be able to fall asleep! And no, sleeping pills didn't do shit. The only thing that helped was they put me on an antidepressant and the serotonin thankfully stopped the seizures. Then, of course, you're basically addicted to the antidepressant & will need to take THAT continuously. It's just a very miserable thing to get into, & I learned the hard way about addiction to synthetic opiates. I hope this helps out anyone else going through
Opiates, even the synthetic ones, are absorbed into the body and basically react by going through the spinal cord & abdomen, which is why you often first feel the rush (if you're still feeling any rush at all) in your gut. When you begin withdrawing, the first thing that hurts is typically your lower back. The seizures I would experience were in my legs, and would usually happen just as I began nodding off to sleep - every time I dozed off, my legs would kick and my lower spine would "flinch,"
I got Ultram prescrip after major surgery in '98, and I was taking like 5 at a time every 2-3 hours when my dr. suddenly cut off the prescrip...it was 2 solid weeks of pure HELL & misery. You are too tired to stay awake yet too awake to fall asleep, and it's like every nerve in your body is being constantly electrified. I had NO idea it caused such severe withdrawals, without even mentioning the severe depression! I lost my job &basically sat on my couch rocking back & forth for 2 weeks.
Hey man i am on tramadol, been on it now for over a year now.I have been taking 2 every 6 hours for pain not as needed..I know what u mean the leg pains and the withdraw, its weird how they dont class it as a narc..but its in the substince abuse category..I am going to try to cut myself down to 6 a day and then next month 4 a day..just in case cause u never no when the docter would cut u off.....
I'm just now experiencing my withdrwal from Ultram, and it's absolutly horrible. I serriously can't imagine that coming off of the "hard stuff" could be much worse. I may be a special case because I was taking at least 20 or 30 a day most days, so whatever, but definitly, if you're ever prescribed Ultram, ONLY take what's prescribed for you to take. If not, be prepared to feel horrible when you have to stop taking them.
It took me two weeks to taper off of 50mg Tramadol. I went from 50 mg three times per day down to none. I was the most sick I have ever been in my life!!!! Never take this stuff it is poison!!!! Thanks for sharing the video.
tramadol is a bith , ive used heroin in the past and the withdrawal lasts 36 hours but tramadols withdrawal has lasted up to 15 days for me . this drus is understimated , its really a pain in the ass to quit
never did heroin,, but addicitted vicodin,, worst was after 9 months of getting 270 of the big blue one's ever 23 days from 3 different online providers,, thank God you cant do that anymore,, the blue ones were 10-750 i think,, the biggest ones you could get,, at least as far as I know.. that was pure hell,, withdrawal lasted a couple weeks maybe 3 first weeks was worst obviously,, Tramadal is a like a mild flew for a day or 2,,,by comparison,, quit whinning,,
@TrueLifeAdventures 'Quote:ikiamboring Are you telling me that I should quit whining on my own video? Are you serious?' Derar True., Don't listen to him, he isn't serious, as you so nicely put it. The only thing you might like to do is to have elecution lessons so that your videos are more easily understood in foreign countries. . It is good to hear your medicine problem-solving ideas. . . Cheers. from, del-boy.
Did you know that the test is so insensitive that the lab has no business charging money for it? Mine was negative too and it said right on the report " Just because you test negative doesnt mean you dont have Lyme".
I've been hearing a lot of suffering stories and hardly any success. not just here but throughout the internet. I got a medusa tattoo 3 months ago today and I promised myself when tatted is the day Id stop smoking (8 year habit). it worked. I plan on getting a big letter C for courage to confront this monster and beat it. I know I can beat this.
It's diff for some people i think. I was on tramdol for a year up to 5pills a day. i would always take them when i got off work becuz i was in pain and for some reason it help me sleep. I went 4 days without sleeping wich is very hard when you have to keep a job and your head feels like it's going to blow up.This was the hardest th9ing to come off .Truelife thanks for the vid's it helped
@eltracer I dunno...I've had some folks say that Tramadol was worse than drugs like heroin and I've had some say that it wasn't. The vast majority of people say that it is the toughest thing they've ever had to go through. Usually when folks tell me that it is a cakewalk they always seem to be back on it before long. Hopefully that won't be the case for you, but I urge you to get off of it and other drugs for good. Thanks for the view and the comment!
@TrueLifeAdventures yea man people say tramadol is the weakest opiate but it has antidepressant properties (SSRI) so it makes you feel like more shit when your off haha
I had a seizure from taking too much and now am in day 3 of wd. I am so scared. I have never taken any other meds and I dont know what I am supposed to do. I feel like I am falling apart - physically and mentally. When does it stop?

@uncagedelite It took me about 6 days to get over it, but I didn't abuse it or anything. In your case, I wouldn't really know. It depends on how long you took it and how much. I would say a week or two maybe and then you should get some relief. I wish I had a better answer for you my friend! It's hard...but, hang in there!
ive been addicted to tramadol for over 12 years man..........i hate this fucking shit.....my life feels meaningless and empty......restlessness is the worst thing EVER.....i was clean for 90 days and i aint shitting you i withdrawd every single night
I am super amateur at YouTube. I got you added I think ?
I looked pretty rapidly on the Trams and many of these other pills. My editing program is in my head, and yeah these pills are SSRI's but if they are NOT prescribed to the right patient, yes, it is a bad thing for anyone. Personally, I know the science behind it. I would not step foot in a doctor again unless I am dying. I can not believe this is LEGAL in OUR COUNTRY! UGH!
Hey I found out that Tramadol is an SSRI and a pain killer. That is probably why all the folks in "pain" are on them. So yeah, research is fun. I don't even wanna buy Benedryl now. Read wikipedia if you are bored.
Thanks for the info. I started taking Tramadol for my RA to help with the pain in my wrist. My doctor didnt tell me that it could be addicting. At first I didnt like it but as I continued to take it I started to like the feeling. It wasnt until recently that I thought, "wow is this stuff adicticting. Thats when I looked it up online and began to read the stories. I get those same symptoms like I'm going to jump out of my skin. Thanks for the info and wish me luck getting off this.
Hey again... thanks for these, damn dude...I am using Benedryl to sleep, but i had no idea they would cause me this much trouble. RLS.. Restless everything! Anxiety/Panic attacks, anger, seizures... I honestly believe this is for "population control" since most pts are childbearin age. U must be a southerner... lol.. i am too! Hit me back. I wanna ask u some stuff plz like chat. I have a YIM if u have one.
@Jburdo4680 Yeah, they def have alot of withdrawal symptoms that people underestimate! Restless legs is one of the worst! Yeah, I'm southern :) I have MSN Messenger and Skype.
I have been tapering off tramadol for 30days& down to 1/2 a pill in the morning & 1 at night, but I was still got withdrawl symptoms. I stopped cold turkey thanks to you. I only have 3 more nights of withdrawl to go, I pray to God. Tonight I took 2 flexerils & got out my tens mach. I have never been chemically dependant on anything, A few nites of hell will be worth it. Please let me know if anyone has the feeling of death when your pain goes over what it handles, it makes me feel crazy.
Thanks for the support and I am determined to overcome!

Today is my second day tramadol free and I feel awful. Flu-like to be exact. Anything you can recommend to treat these symptoms would be helpful.

Thank you! I am seeing some improvement, little by little. Her days are totally normal other than some sleepiness but her nights are still interrupted by restless legs and jerking awake. At least last night she slept from 5:00am until 10:00am. I was so happy! :)

She was taking 3 50mg pills throughout the day. I think it's so hard on her because she has a disability and is unable to sooth herself. Thank you again for the video.
MrKorbz 1 month ago
@MrKorbz Your welcome. I would think that the withdrawals ought to subside anytime now. I wish I had more info for you, but given that your daughter is quadriplegic that might throw my estimation off. Hopefully the symptoms will disappear very soon. I wish your daughter the best.
TrueLifeAdventures 1 month ago
Thank you for the video. My adult quadriplegic daughter was put on tramadol while waiting for surgery approval and had to stay on it for 6 months. She has been off it for about 20 days. She can not speak but her withdrawal is definitely restless leg syndrome! It's awful she only sleeps 2-3 hrs a night.
Can you please tell me how long this usually lasts? :(
It's heartbreaking to watch this happen when she's unable to move or talk. She took this nasty drug as prescribed. Tramadol is awful!

LOLWUTI5THIS 2 months ago
JJusticeification 2 months ago
@JJusticeification I would not take Benadryl with an over the counter sleeping pill. Most (not all) otc sleeping pills contain the same active ingredient as Benadryl which is diphenhydramine. Taking these together would result in a "doubling-up" of the same ingredient causing a reverse effect. As for me, cutting back did not lessen the pain of withdrawals...all it did was drag them out longer. However, cold turkey is not for everyone and I appreciate your comment.
TrueLifeAdventures 2 months ago
I appreciate what you're doing, but to be honest, tramadol withdrawals = joke. I've been using up to 900mg of tramadol orally every day, along with codeine up to 700mg.. Then I moved to o-desmethyltramadol, injected up to 120mg.. I used to do this for roughly 8 months and withdrawals are no worse than a light case of flue. The only bothering thing was restless legs, which then resulted in insomnia.. But come on, making a video for something like this?
Morr1992 3 months ago
@Morr1992 People like you could always be more tactful when leaving your comments. I would respect you more had you said something like this---"I appreciate what you're doing, but I really haven't experienced these kinds of withdrawals personally. @itsleahdarling Yeah, those restless leg symptoms really, really suck. I used a muscle relaxer sometimes and that helped. Try getting someone to massge your legs for you at bedtime. anyone looking to get off of any opiate should look into this plant called "Kratom" It's 100% legal and feels exactly like an opiate. Do a google search on it.

is there any relation to tramadol withdrawal and depression?
I have really run low on my supply even run completely out, over the past 3-4 weeks and without warning I plummeted into a very dark depression. I can't believe how sudden and strong this depression came on.
dreinca1 10 months ago
@dreinca1 In my opinion...yes. Tramadol has certain anti-depressant properties so when you suddenly stop taking it you get the feeling that all is not right. However, this goes away within a few days and you will return to better than normal after it gets out of your system. I encourage you not to take them if you don't really have to and I hope that this info has been beneficial to you. Good luck my friend and thanks for the view and the comment!
TrueLifeAdventures 10 months ago
@dreinca1 YES, definitely. Tramadol is an "opioid like" drug AND an SSRI which is what anti-depressants are. That is the reason for the depression. This same exact thing happened to me about 3 years ago. I got into using this evil pill and without warning, depression came on like a bat out of hell and it wasn't until I stopped using it that it happened. Get off of it now, i'm serious.. It'll take a few months for the depression to lift but it will.

also, forgot to mention I was originally given this drug for Degenerative Disc Disease in L1 & L2 of my lower back as well as a pinched nerve in my upper back.
Anglynn74 10 months ago
.....(cont) the withdrawals will not be as bad.
Anglynn74 10 months ago
Been on it off & on for 4 yrs. Stopped cold turkey a few times. Recently took it from Oct 2010 till last Sunday & the wtihdrawal only lasted about 5 days & on the 6th day I felt fine. Had stomach issues, anxiety etc. It's for pain but has that hidden anti-depresant in it so it acts on your serotonin as well so coming off of it can cause depression which is the WORST, docs conveniently leave out the SSRI effect of it. I just got more & as long as I take it every now & then not every day.....

Thanks for joining in the conversation my friend!

withdrawals of any opiate, just to know other people have gone through the same thing. Because when it happened to me, I had no clue what withdrawals were or that Ultram/tramadol even caused them! My ignorance was my punishment. All I wanted was relief from severe pain & something that made it easy to fall asleep, and I didn't know what the consequences were. It's your body, but at least be careful, and be informed.
xeokym 1 year ago
and this would go on for 1-3 hours before I would finally be able to fall asleep! I hope this helps out anyone else going through
xeokym 1 year ago

The leg pains are horrible!!! This is my third night and I think I am going to go nuts!!!!
kellyb228 1 year ago
I'm just now experiencing my withdrwal from Ultram, and it's absolutly horrible. I serriously can't imagine that coming off of the "hard stuff" could be much worse. I may be a special case because I was taking at least 20 or 30 a day most days, so whatever, but definitly, if you're ever prescribed Ultram, ONLY take what's prescribed for you to take. If not, be prepared to feel horrible when you have to stop taking them.

tramadol is a bith , ive used heroin in the past and the withdrawal lasts 36 hours but tramadols withdrawal has lasted up to 15 days for me . this drus is understimated , its really a pain in the ass to quit
MrAjh420 1 year ago
anybody who thinks withdrawing from tramadol is easy, has never been on tramadol.
plain and simple it's the worst drug to come off of. It is a pain killer and an antidepressant. double whammy!
i got off of percocets easier than withdrawing from tramadol. that stuff is scary dangerous.Plus it increases you chances of seizures.

Did you know that the test is so insensitive that the lab has no business charging money for it? Mine was negative too and it said right on the report " Just because you test negative doesnt mean you dont have Lyme".
juliarice1 1 year ago
@juliarice1 I agree with you. Just because you test negative does not mean you don't have Lyme.

6:Use a supplement combination of iron and magnesium
7: Divide your meals into 5 to 7 small meals trough the day
8:Avoid tobacco and alcohol or any harmful subsistence
ahalalsuna 1 year ago
Some advice:
1:Use a high potency neurotonic vitemin b1,b2,b6,b12 & folic acid combination 3 times a day
2:Some sources say to cut down on tea consumption but for some individuals drinking 6 to 10 cups of tea a day helps
3:Eat healthy lots of complex carbohydrates, lean protein, fruits, vegetables & and healthy fats
4: Exercise with a combination of cardio and weight training
5:Always keep your self busy walk,do chores or meet friends to get your mind off the withdrawal and always avoid stress
ahalalsuna 1 year ago

UGH!
Jburdo4680 1 year ago
@Jburdo4680 Yeah, you added me :) Tramadol can be a horrific experience if one is not prepared.
TrueLifeAdventures 1 year ago
Hey I found out that Tramadol is an SSRI and a pain killer. That is probably why all the folks in "pain" are on them. So yeah, research is fun. I don't even wanna buy Benedryl now. Read wikipedia if you are bored.
Jburdo4680 1 year ago
Thanks for the info. I started taking Tramadol for my RA to help with the pain in my wrist. My doctor didnt tell me that it could be addicting. At first I didnt like it but as I continued to take it I started to like the feeling. It wasnt until recently that I thought, "wow is this stuff adicticting. Thats when I looked it up online and began to read the stories. I get those same symptoms like I'm going to jump out of my skin. Thanks for the info and wish me luck getting off this.
