Alexei Sayle on first episode of O.T.T.

I remember being a thick as shit 18-year old when Alexei Sayle came on the scene and thinking 'What is he on about, get him off!'. Same when he had his bit on The Young Ones.Took a few years of adult education before I realised what I'd been missing. Now if I watch The Young Ones, his little cameo is the only bit that truly holds its own after all these years.

He has acted in many films, 2 of which spring to mind is an Indiana Jones film (can't remember which title) and Gorky Park. He has acted on the stage in London at the Old Vic theatre in a production of The Tempest. he has had several charted records (my favourite "Ullo John, got a new motor" check it on youtube. He has and still does write articles for journals and newspapers, and he is also a successful author of a wide range of material. Truly gifted, unlike me, uneducated and useless...LOL

i saw Alexei at Portsmouth in 1983 and he opened up this Pot noodle thing and he just went off from there..he was ahead of his time!...funny man!.

Interesting to see. My parents never let me stay up to watch OTT (I was nine or ten) so the whole series was imbued with mystery. I did sneakily see a couple and remember the opening credits with the nude flying woman.
