That bike is too much for a first bike. Not that it will be dangerous but being an excellent bike, you won't feel it's limits and either won't gain you much experience or you won't be satisfied witih your riding. Starting off with an easier bike will be more fun because you will reach it's limits faster and you will enjoy more the ducati once you have one! I garantee you!

well its not really important with what you start, its more that you are smart enough to use it to your skills and know where the limits are, just drive it responsibly, thats no different from 125cc or 1100

agree too!, I did it backwards.....started with a ktm sm990 as my very first bike, I really had in mind what I was gettin in to. now I stepped down a little and got a 2nd bike ktm EXC 530. It's just a matter of knowing what you have, you always have the same stituation on any bike. The power is as on any bike... you have the throttle control, they brake better too, but the weight....you really have to be carefull, mainly when it's parked and you're trying to move it.
