well we saw steve last friday july 24 at bodle's opera house with the windfall profits ....and this my fave sf song was the stud of the show...steve allen ripped it along with steve and band. sorry was holding the martin capoed at 4...so no caps.
I saw him soundchecking one time and he kept having them turn his guitar down and when it got down to a whisper he said "perfect". Sounded just like you hear it in this video. It was genius - pulled the audience right in, right up to him. Makes the audience lean in to hear every note and word and every boot tap on the resonator board. The guitar is just accompaniment. He knows people aren't there to hear his guitar sound good and loud, they are there to have the song communicated.
someone let me know if u find the music video for this song

Had the pleasure of opening for Steve last year....he was great, down to earth and real. What a treat to see him perform solo!

Love Steve! My Sister and I first saw him in NYC at the Lone Star Cafe late 70's early 80's....many unforgettable nights!

Steve rocks! Woefully underappreciated, truly talented. Great lyricist too.

saw him, free, at the channel in Boston. He's one of the best solo performers to date.

Isn't that a great guitar lick, though? Like the Stones at their best. . .

Seen him quite a few times in London.
He is much better solo than with some loud band.
Much more expressive.
