  • 3:57 No, Andrew was a category 5 at landfall so that makes 3 U.S. hurricanes to be a Cat 5 at landfall. Wait, does anyone know when they actually made it official that Andrew was a 5 when it made landfall?

  • @ericsummey95 they classified Andrew a cat 5 in 2002...at the time during Floyd it was in fact just two cat 5's

  • @Dj0287 Thanks. I'm only 15 and only know what I read. The only big hurricanes I can remember, are Floyd, which is what interested me in weather. But I was only 3, almost 4 then so I don't remember too much from Floyd. The one that I really remember well is Isabel. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Thank you for uploading these videos. They help me learn more as I hope to be a meteorologist at some point in my lifetime.

  • Ugh such awesome maps and meteorologists... I forgot they used to do jet stream forecasts..

  • I miss these old graphics and newscasters. They made watching the weather fun. Also, Hurricane Floyd had to have been a Cat 5 for at least a short while (between advisories).

  • I personally think Floyd was a Category 5 hurricane for a while in this period (it was officially at the top of Cat 4).
