  • @candugi Before people go OMG KEANU LOOKS JUST LIKE SPIKE HE SHOULD BE IN A CB MOVIE OMG!!!1, we should all remember that he is a pretty shit actor who only does one personality in all his movies... which is also his personality irl. A character like Spike deserves a much better actor than him.

  • Best part of the song is from 0:01 - 5:17

  • @blamagenkind and don't forget Maaya sakamoto's angelical voice ;D

  • @acordesanime Is she the one in the intro? All I know about her is she's a voice actress. lol :P

  • @blamagenkind Yup. She's not only a voice actress. She's also a singer, and has been produced by Kanno yoko lots of times :D

  • you're gonna carry that weight...

  • We're ascending...

  • Every time I hear this song it makes me feel like I'm saying goodbye to an old friend for the last time.

  • The live version of this song has at least 50K more views than any other rendition, yet regardless of format, still sends a chill down your neck...

  • What a soul there is in that voice. So raw, especially towards the end. Simply beautiful.

  • run dream, run, run beyond the awakening, and into the daylight

  • i loved the show so much cowboy bepbop was awesome greatest anime ever

  • Damn, such a good song.

  • This goes out to a true saint, a beautiful soul, a very talented singer, and an awesome friend... Freddie... he was killed last monday... I went to a fundraiser for him last night... and I think this track is a perfect farewell song for him. R.I.P. Freddie. We love and miss you... :*(

  • I hear this song in my head whenever I look up at the sky.

  • Don't wake me from the dream,It's really everything it seemed.

  • If my headphones were to explode and deafen me right now I'd be content with this being the last thing I heard.

  • Cowboy Bebop had one of the most impressionable soundtracks.

  • I'm 6'1 200lbs, a state championship wrestler, and I bawl like a girl every time I hear this

  • too fucking bad this is in 240p :(

  • My Fav

  • i cried

  • thanks to cowboy bebop, not just an ordinary anime series, thanks for letting me dream, and for letting me know his wonderful soundtrack composed not only of beautiful music, but also wonderful words.

I never tire of listening to all tracks in the series.

    Never.

  • this is wonderful. she sings wonderfully. so deeply emotional....i've got chills down my spine!

  • If you had never even seen Cowboy Bebop, this is a powerful song, but if you know what it entails on-screen it really hits you like a ton of bricks.

  • @SpOoOokyGhost Spike's one wish

  • Never seen a blue sky, yeah I can feel it reaching out...

  • God this is beautiful.

  • Freedom...

  • Sing that song, girl!!

  • the singer is MAI YAMANE

  • Who exactly is the one singing?

  • Yoko Kanno, I guess. But I'm not sure.

  • @eureka0521 The composer is Yoko Kanno, but the actual singer is Mai Yamane

  • I first heard this song when there was a short film on here about mewtwo the pokemon growing up inside the tank, he dreams with the little girl and charmander bulbasaur and squirtle, and this song plays when they start to die, and mewtwo ends up alone in the dark! random and maybe childish for some, but it was truley amazing!

  • watch cowboy bebop

  • @TheMrRivers do u know where i can find this short film about mewtwo

  • 22 people don't remember their past.

  • dear god the last line just tears me to pieces (the whole last verse really)

but when I saw the last episode... its just... god it's not mourning it's celebrating instead.... and god.

    "i'm ascending"

  • Where can i find Blue version for karaoke? Ø.Ø

  • I wish she could have made the begining longer i like that part the best

  • mai yamane is amazing - marry me

  • A more recent live performance of this song can be heard here: Copy and paste into youtube address v=YPfJT4ceeZQ

  • Space Cowboy....FOREVER!

  • 3:37 O M G !!!

  • This song makes me cry and cry even more when I think of Spike and the gang at the Bebop

  • beautiful..bpro i agree..u got willow smith another rich no talent hack movin up the charts and u here yoko and go WTF??thtas a real voice no computer aid nothing but talent of a real beautiful voice..it pisses me off..this song hits my heart everytime i hear it.u know its talent when a song can move an audience

  • i just had an eargasm

  • I recommend everyone listen to "Air" by Jason Becker while watching this. Don't play Air until 0:57 of this and start Air 1:50 into the song. Air is a beautiful song and it flows very perfectly with Blue. Also, Air will end at the PERFECT time in relation to Blue. Make sure this is louder, or it won't sound as good. Thumbs up if you like it and want others to hear it too =)

  • I would be criying if I where on that live. That song is amazin♥ Mai it's so awesome♥

  • One of those pieces where no one in the audience makes a sound while it's playing.... =)

  • @pheenix42 that reminds me of the fact that every audience has at least one poorly sensed person who wants to clap in rithym no matter the song haha

  • i have loved this song for many years, this performance is excellent. Yoko Kanno you are a goddess >_<

  • @laughingman05 Mai Yamane is the one singing, though.

  • @laughingman05 yes performed by the Seatbelts, but Yoko wrote & composed the song >_< so what's your point?

  • Does anyone know the lyrics of the opening and closing part of this song (the part where Maaya Sakamoto sings)?

  • This song gives me chills whenever I listen to it. Fantastic. I love Yoko Kanno =]

  • @Chrisjr09 I'd say others go with the masses. i doubt that most anime fananitcs like 1990's anime. to them its like it never existed. I love all the old anime!! and new not all but i like most anime. Cowboy Bebop will always be my number 1! :D

  • Yo dude, don't get stereotyping. I grew up on Dragonball-Z. And G Gundam. And I saw a little Kenshin and Tenchi in its dying Toonami years. And from that, I saw Outlaw Star, and Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun, and Gurren Lagann, and Inuyasha and Big O. I'll never regret that. As long as you don't grow up thinking Naruto (and I apologize for using that as a derogative) is the best anime ever (without justification) I think you're a well-rounded anime fan for this day and age.

  • @Momentum139 Toonami was the best thing Cartoon Network ever did, apart from Adult Swim Saturday nights.

  • 4:45 <3

  • @Chrisjr09 Protip: don't call people "retarted" when you can't even spell the word properly.

  • 22 people who disliked this are douches

  • Bless the world. whatever power it is that's pulling the strings, be it the govt's at the top, or the masses below. Let corruption dissolve. And just light flow out as a stream of ions. Let's feel the light!

  • 4:13 through 4:20 is fucking heart breaking.

  • The only bad thing about this song, is that after I hear it I dont wanna hear anything else... wait, that's not a bad thing at all!

  • the thing about this song is

the dream is what makes us smile

the fact that the dream was never really alive is what makes us weep

  • 22 people aren't ascending.

  • I love this song. I love the anime. So much, however, that I named my pet hedgehog Spike Spiegel. Well today I had to bury him because he died of natural causes. This song became his requiem, and I was in tears all over again just as I was when I watched the ending of cowboy bebop those many years ago. Thank you Yoko Kanno, Mai Yamane, and the Seatbelts for your comfort when I needed it

    >Everything is clearer now

    >Life is just a dream you know, that's never ending

    See you around, space cowboy.

  • 'No black and white in blue'. Simply one of the best live performances I've seen.

  • this is one of the greatest songs also one of the saddest songs youll ever listen to

  • Mai do have a gift from god. Remember me Maeno Youko (Singer of Space Cobra)

  • Yoko Kanno it's wonderfull!!! I such love her ♥

  • @Animeche mai yamane is singing. Either way...it is a beautiful song. makes me want to cry man :'(

life is just a dream you know

    that's never ending

    i'm ascending

  • Man I get chills every time! Amazing amazing song. This song makes me want to cry and feel better at the same time.

  • Omg this song is soo... i dont know its too much of everything its too awesome to explain makes me feel like crying almost its too blue or something

Like a friend said... Its out of this world

  • @YeicoTheGorila

It's a huge build up of emotion up to a climax, and then right around 3:37 all that amped up energy seems to fall off your shoulders like a huge rush of emotion, and if you really get into the song from the beginning, it's enough to get you a bit teary. Mai Yamane sings it perfectly, w/ the drums in the back adding awesome accents, in a way representing all that raw emotion trying to break out..and when it does, it's fucking breath taking!

  • This song is sick... Would love to see it like a final boss theme in a game.

  • @Pheyt14 Mark my words, I will do that one day.

  • @AlphaOrigin Lol... yea it just seems like the last of the last. I played star ocean:The last hope and played it on the last boss battle. Sounded sooo right.

  • That woman is so fine....

  • @TheLibertas2 So fine that she blows my mind. And that ain't no pun, thats the fucking truth *Internet hugs fer all who know this song*

  • Its funny how the majority of you don't know that Yoko Kanno is not the woman singing, but merely the woman who wrote and composed the music.

  • @shinmei2006 merely? That's quite a lot -.-'

  • This is quite possibly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, and I agree with Bpro64, Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts should win more awards.

  • IS the singer yoko kanno?

  • @yokeepsitreal Nope, she's Mai Yamane man she's sexy! And so fit for the song, having a mature woman's voice <3

  • I LOVE THIS!! Yoko Kano... she's so amazing. So talented!!! An amazin' artist!!! *-*♥

  • esto no es real es solo un sueño... Bang!!!

adoro este anime carajo lo amo desde que era un niño y aunqeu ahora tengo obligaciones y ya no puedo meterme en el mundo del anime sigo amando cowboy bebop

  • Bang....

  • Inspiration... At least in my opinion anyway:

This song is oddly fitting for the movie Inception.

  • I still can't explain what this song does to me. It's the most perfect song ever. God I love this <3

  • bang!

  • 22 people were in a dream they couldn't wake from.

  • ありがとう。。。!!bang

  • ありがとう。。。!!

  • Am I the only one who notices how great the bassist and drummer are in this?

  • omg this soong is sooo beautiful and she has a great voice

  • still gives me goosebumps

  • Why o why do talentless pricks like that girl Justin Beiber get loads of recognition whereas people like Yoko Kanno, whos music should be winning award after award, are barely known. Sometime I think we don't live in an intelligent world.

  • @Bpro64 oh no...we don't lol

  • @Bpro64 Dude, we DON'T live in an intelligent world. Sad as it is.

  • @Drumroll418

    i think the universe has a very intelligent mechanism. . . .

that causes things to work out how they do. I think your just judging the word through an egoistic philter, of what you consider intelligent.

if there were no stupid people how would you gage your own intellect. . . . .

although i do agree with you, just saying theres a bigger picture,

    ~_^

  • @Bpro64 your damn right

  • @Bpro64 Sometimes? ;)

  • @Bpro64

Sometime you think were not living in an intelligent world?

we live in an intelligent world but with many, many stupid and idiotic people.

  • @Bpro64

relax, its only americans, those stupid fat bastards are anti-culture, but who gives a fuck! we listen to great music, so fuck them and let them rot in their disgusting perverted world, HAVE LOVE FOR THE BEAUTIFUL!!

  • @bulavo wow dude that hurt reading ur comment :( not all americans are like that ;)

  • @0sprite0

sorry, i might have overdid it a little, i know not all of you are like that!

  • @bulavo Ouch dude calm down, that seriously hurt... I live in america and I am not fat nore am I anti culture think before you speak. Also Yoko Kanno is amazing, and I love her music to death. ^^

  • @DriverRx

sorry, i might have overdid it a little, i know not all of you are like that!

  • @Bpro64 we dont ~_~

  • I don't think it helps that she would be considered a foreign artist either. America needs to broaden its musical spectrum...

  • @Bpro64 Well honestly, truely and obviously... we don't.

  • @Bpro64 AMEN!!!^_^

  • @Bpro64 because shit sells...

    =/

  • @Bpro64 We don't.

  • @Bpro64 people love stupidity pal. most people dont even know why they like the songs they do. and most of the songs popular with the kids nowadays have absolutely no meaning, just a random assortment of words.

  • @Bpro64 music touches(should) directly your back, your brain, your heart. what is this feeling we all have when we hear to music , we enjoy? :) tell me :)
