  • All right all these moves work but i have a suggestion of pulling the legs out at 1:34 because ive seen too many of my friends go down by getting kicked in the balls accidentally trying to do it between the legs.

  • today is the day....I give you a 10 for that alone

  • excellent, fundamentally sound technique. great vid

  • There wer4e classic Brazilian Jui-Jitsu stuff as well as a few Judo moves. Great stuff and thanks for protecting your partner. Clean==very clean.

  • White belt stuff

  • really good clip thanks for it i'm using and practicing some of them take downs u should make more clips like these but like u could put the takedowns into detail not too much so its shit but like explain a little because u done some of them quick soo it took abit longer to pick up on some

  • Great video! thanks !

  • yeah dude. some of my favorite stuff is combos, especially sprawls then reshooting, high crotch to double , or single to double, and double to single. ill probably post some stuff soon on this account soon with combinations and chain wrestling drills.

  • Dude yeah that was just random takedowns. Would you be interested in a video for things that indicate when an opponent is going to attack ? and if so would you mean like freestyle wrestling, or greco?

  • That transition to a double leg at :47 was terrible. Welcome to my Guard! 1:29, welcome to my half guard. 1:58, in my guard again. 2:01, hope you like a kneebar. 2:44 half guard again. Just my observations.

  • hrmmm, never knew akido had a ground game as well... i was under the impression that it was mainly standup and takedown based, but how strong is theyre ground submission game...?

  • As far as I learned, not much of a ground game in Aikido. I train Jits, Muay Thai and MMA these days. What's in a name, right? I was feeling a little ornery when I made that last comment if you can't tell.

  • Well the problem is then , i the guy in the video, sees the dumb comment and wonders if you realize these were just sample low speed takedowns , and that if you ever wrestled me, you probably would just get owned. Well tell you what, make a video of you using your favorite 20 takedowns off the top of your head (yeah this wasnt planned) and show me how its really done since your aikido training seems to have taught you to grapple better.

  • Haha. I am well aware of what you were demonstrating. I am also well aware that you didn't troubleshoot any of the stuff you did.

Now you can take the hair out of your ass and stop being so sensitive. Like I said, I was being ornery and meant no harm so get the stick out of your ass.

I dig the name though, since we're using names to make assumptions. Someone seems to think they are just a complete badass.

It's funny how Dumog is often compared to Aikido...

    Lead left hook, overhand right.

  • lmao trouble shoot? Look in a real folk style wrestling match which most of these takedowns are derived from they are some of the most technically sound ways to secure a takedown based on my size as it relates to the weightclass i learned the moves at. these are the bread and butter takedowns of all wrestlers high school and collegiate from 160-200 lbs. maybe you should go get a real wrestler you know , have him watch with you, and tell you how cool the stuff is. it will help.

  • My gym is full of wrestlers. My MMA coach was a collegiate wrestler on the same team as Shane Carwin. My jits coach was a heavyweight Greco and Freestyle wrestler. The top guy in my gym was a wrestler. Three of our title holders are wrestlers. I am not saying your takedowns are ineffective at getting him down. He hits the mat every time. However my MMA coach would chew your ass for the same things I said. If you're going to take them down do it so you end up in a dominant position.

  • Heres the fundamental difference in the way you train and the way i do, i train each thing seperately, as its own entity. therefore this had nothing to do with mma whatsoever. it was just folk style takedowns, where there is no guard and you lose on your back.if you personally knew much about wrestling you would know the flashy matt hughes slams are nearly always illegal and waste considerably more energy then the orthodox ways of taking a man down. besides half guard isnt hard to strike past.

  • At the end of the day I was making an observation. It surprises me you're so worked up about it. I was making the observation from a Jiu Jitsu standpoint, not MMA. Because your video came up as I was checking out Jits videos. Had you made your current point first, I would have simply said. Word! Cool stuff. Keep up the hard work and honestly, post more videos. Overall I have much to learn from this one. My wrestling isn't so good.

  • Couldnt agree more, why not learn a technique that could help win a fight just because its from a different discipline. Ill admit, im a tad biased, but Krav Maga combines effective techniques from all fighting styles... Gotta hand it to the Israelis that invented it, tough as nails

  • Do you know of any decent vids on the different arm and shoulder locks utilized in Akido? it would be great to see

  • Thanks for the comments. Hope the guy who made this video doesn't want to hurt me for teasing him a little. Just use the search bar and check out Aikido, I don't know of any really good ones off hand though. Search O Sensei too. He was a pimp. For a laugh check out Steven Seagal's stuff. He is actually really good but he's also a giant, white guy messing with a bunch of Asians. I'm just easily amused I guess.

Oh and if anyone is confused, left hook and overhand right are my favorite takedowns.

  • it kinda says here dumog "style" doesnt say its original dumog....

  • dumog ......shit man thats fucken freestyle wrestling but hey whatever you can use to brainwash some studnts i say go for it

  • dumog...whatever I do many of those techniques in wrestling...but good moves

  • Very nice

  • A fan of all MA, internal, external, Filipino, Chinese, WHATEVER I give the guys kudos for training. whether it is exactly dumog or not is open to ones own interpretation OF dumog. Who first called the sky blue? no one really knows:)

  • Nice takedowns!

By the way, where is the dumog? :)

  • It's called your mama's face...jk...it's Black Dhalia Murder.

  • what is that shit playing in the background?

  • nice!

  • By the way to those of you who appreciate the takedowns here, thanks.. this is in no way me saying I'm a badass or posting to gloat. these are just personally the first 20 takedowns off the top of my head. never thought id get so many good comments.

  • Different martial arts will have these moves, but it is the style in which it is taught. Dumog means to crush down, stomp down, destroy... and it is the way it is taught in a set. That's where the similarities end. Dumog is street fighting in the Philippines, down and dirty.

  • nice set

i love the black dahlia murder in the background

  • Those who say these techniques don't work obviously never heard of Erik Paulson.

    TapouT NOOBS!

  • You learn these moves in Highschool wrestling so I suggest those who don't know their shit to SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • this is a filipino martial art of grappling called "dumog" one of the three empty hands of kali this is supported by "panuntukan"dirty boxing second is "sikaran"kicks

  • this is for ,nwiwrestler, 2:28 was a very affective takedown that i have used succesfully on people you dumbass...and change your name people are going to think you know something about wrestling

  • the thin gis...

2 28 IS a very good takedown never mind..

but i think the problem with the HIP WHEEL..

we call it in judo is that its hard to do against an opponnent who is much heavier than you..surely most times in ´competition there are weight classes but on streeet you now...

  • 20 takedowns?

  • actually these are the best techniques against boxers, and all standing fighters...

  • Everyone here who posted these techniques dont work are idiots. These are used in MMA all the time. Every move in there is basic wrestling. I dont know what world you people are living in that double leg takedowns and armdrags dont work in. Have any of you trained before and if so how many years and have you steped in a ring and faught full contact mma. I dont know these guys but he had clean technique and these moves are exactly what any mma gym will teach you

  • 2:28 wtf was that, come on now

  • Really, knee to the face in submission grappling. well .. its official. you're a moron, and illiterate to boot. read the title.

  • What MMA have you been watching?

:28-Ankle Pick, used by Genki Sudo against Butterbean

:39-Single leg, used by Marcelo Garcia

:48-Double Leg, frequently used by Matt Hughes and Randy Couture

1:06-That takedown is commonly used by wrestlers

1:17-Double Leg used by Randy Couture against Chuch Liddell and Gabriel Gonzaga

Maybe if you put some time into training rather than sitting down and watching TUF finales, you'd learn some stuff.

  • Exactly my point: about six out of 100 work... Actually I am probobly the most promising 18 year old mma-fighter in the world right now so in a couple of years you should look out for me in the UFC. My name is Julius Kelmendi.

  • 1:28-Josh Barnett used this on Yuki Kondo

1:33-Karo Parisyan used this on Ryo Chonan

1:40-I beleive Ikuhisa Minowa performed this on Giant Silva, although I can be mistaken

1:48-Josh Koscheck is a favorite of this move

I can always go on if I have to, but I feel as if I am wasting my time. Most if not ALL of these moves are taught by Randy Couture in his book or any Wrestling Gym.

  • WAHAHAHAHAH! Yeah right, what bullshit. If you are a promosing 18 year old MMA fighter, you would've learned these moves by now. I'm guessing you either just started out or you go to a bullshit gym.

Put on the TapouT and grease up the DVDS! We got ourselves a wannabe here!

  • Tell you what. this is me. This is after a two hour practice. it was meant to be a random show of takedowns. My name is chad beza. Im the one doing the takedowns. you post a video yourself or come meet up with me, and we will see if i dont run a fuckin wrestling clinic on your ass. sound good?

  • Tell you what, chad beza. Your so called takedowns are slow and loose and I can see you lack the technique necessary to do them in a fight. Where do you live then? I'll open you up

  • ooo an internet fight, they are by far the most brutal!

  • haha yeah who will win :p biggest showdown on the net some wannabe ufc fighters hahaha

  • hahaha

  • Slow and loose huh? Like your mother ,.. hahahaha (Hey you set yourself up.)

  • rofl im sorry but are u fuckin joking me.....i can find out one way to block all those takedowns and thats to stick ur knee out so the dumn ass thats stupid enough to do those will get his face wrecked

  • Hell yeah! They're listening to Black Dahlia Murder! Blackest Incarnation is a fucking rightous tune!

  • those would never work

  • go full speed in the video.

but good job just wanted to see it done faster

  • Why assume they are much taller and heavier? The UFC has weight classes. And even if there is striking you could still do arm drags or ties to set up your shots.

  • These finishes are really bad and they don't set up the takedowns at all. If the guy getting taken down had a decent stance or sprawled at all none of these would have worked.

  • if u do this fast enough ull have no problems. no matter what some retards think...

  • Lol. knee to the face in sub-grappling ? read the title.

  • the first 2 takedowns (would you call them low ankle picks?) look good, but I never see them attempted in UFC, Pride, etc

  • Low singles. For an Ankle pick you need 1 hand on the ankle 1 hand on the head and you sort of pull the two togethor and push them backwards.

  • what technique(s) do you prefer to close the gap and takedown a MUCH taller, MUCH heavier opponent (assume MMA "rules" with striking, can happen) ?

  • very good takedowns :) thanks

  • 20 takedowns, now where is my 30 day trail?

  • no,.. they are like weird puzzle piece like grappling mats

  • good job you guys.

  • dude were u guys doing that on a TILE floor?!!

  • its called a takedown video not a submission video idiot

  • well the video is called submission wrestling TAKEDOWNS

    ....chester

  • dude none of these are submissions there just take downs i was expecting submissions

  • I'm the guy in the red shirt and this was after an MMA practice, how many of you neigh sayers know more takedowns off the top of your heads, and for the last time these were pretty much all slow so you can see them and a lateral is done with an over and an underhook boiler...

  • ugh that is not a lateral drop that is lateral suckage. search wrestling lutte if you want to see some real throws.

  • its called a lateral throw i use it in wrestling sometimes

  • i heard some people call it an "over under" too but i got more vid reults from "lateral drop", thanks for the response

  • does anybody know what kind of throw that was at 1:56-2:00??

  • well he just had two underhooks and thew it behind him kind of. i dont reccomend

  • It is a variant on a Judo throw. I have had great success with it. I usually wind up in mount with gi and side with no gi. It works if you pratice.

  • nice video, thanks for posting this. i started wrestling this year so im trying to learn more takedowns

  • that drop-nagi was disgusting. right arm tighter, more angle on the drop, and hips deeper to make him...not umm... spin around for you?

  • good job, you got skills. I m sure you know some more nasty throws and combos

  • Good Job! Thanks for posting. Hope to see more of your work. Keep it up!

  • Just What I was looking for cheers man!

  • nice work

  • you to get some practice in with them TRYING.

  • These are great takedowns, but it's only practice NO DEFENSE. it is much harder with someone trying to resist that's what you have to be ready for. think about it.

  • duh! the purpose of this clip is to offer beginners some great takedowns to start working on. obviously anyone can pull them off, without resistence, but you have to know what you are working for, before you get resistence.

  • dont worry jason a lot of guys wouldnt know wrestling bjj submission martial arts if it all fell on them !!!! great vid thanks from this WRESTLER

  • @bronzdbeauty87

    word

  • I liked the lateral drop, but make sure not to try it when you're too tired, or you're liable to pull the guy on top of you... There was this one time.. I don't wanna talk about it.

  • yo nice video guys i was looking for a video just like this so i can use it i needed to watch it like 5 times cause takedowns are a bitch to remember thanks for posting it! keep up the good work!

  • right right right you film a better video of your random favorite takedowns after a 2 hour mma practice unexpectedly off the top of your head with better technique,.. and we will gladly remove this from youtube. dick.

  • The music in the background is Black Dahlia Murder ,...the best music to listen to when one trains jiu jitsu for sure

  • brotha's pants kept fallin' down. LOL!!!

  • cool

  • kool tackles

  • injury free and clear no complaints

  • whats the song in the background?

  • Obviously!

  • Yeah, it's called trying not to break your training partner.

  • i'm pretty sure the guy went slow to demonstrate with good technique. so in submission grappling or folk style wrestling im sure these would be done faster

  • good vid. but not to good. in a wrestling match you wouldnt win in the stance your in, or the slow mo speed. you gotta shoot faster. the latdrop was not that good either. and wtf is this kid talkin bout: at 1:40? that take down was good, and you can heel hook from that right away. japaneese low singles and high singles are mostly about twisting your arm or turning it to get the opponent to fall. rich85seal dont say shit if u dont kno what ur talkin bout. do u even kno wut a drop step is?

  • yo know it all steve u ever had a fight apart from with ya sister hes shooting slow to show how and where is hands r u noob and saying about his stance hes in a normal mma stance or will tito and chuck and forest griffin lose beacause there stood like that learn somthing before u bitch steeeeeeeeeeevee

  • I'm pretty sure you couldn't stop him! lol

  • at 1:40sec...is a really dumb takedown..just not practical. never twist ur damn arm.

  • Firemans?

  • Pretty much my favorite takedowns and set-ups. I left out the ankle pick though,..

  • We should have your next fight up in the next couple days. Chris is fighting at the Blue Note in 2 weeks!

  • Those are all very sloppy takedowns! Those techniques need to be more smooth. Otherwise it wont be easy taking down a good fighter.

  • whatever!

  • AMAZING!! my fav woz the belly 2 belly, overhead one!! that ruled!!

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

    Peace.
