Dermot : Well guys . Your " expert " opinions on that ..
Tulisa : Well .. yeah !! No but its retero innit ..
Kelly : She sings well but I would love to show her how to do it properly ..
Louis : I love [sic] the girls but lets get rid of the piano and the musicians . Its all a bit TOO gimmicky ....
Dermot : Well there you have it viewers ! BRASIL 66 .... [ off stage on the phone to radio 2 producer ] .. " get them booked for next weeks show , they're F*****g BRILLIANT !! " ...
Every time Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 covered a Beatles tune, they went one better than even the Beatles themselves. I don't know that I can say that about any other artist. Folks, I hope you will give a listen to the CD called 'INTRODUCING RAY WALLACE' on the SPINOUT label.
Can really hear Lani Hall's voice distinctively in this song. Her lower, fuller tone is at the forefront; this is perhaps why Sergio added her to the band very early in it's history - he wanted to 'layer' the vocalists for effect. Lani Hall's fabulous deeper, more 'voluptuous' voice was combined with Janis Hansen's harder-edged, higher voice made the probably the most famous female duo ever in the history of music! They sang word-for-word in unison so that we often think there's only one singer.
Sergio Mendes made Brasil '66. He could have found many other musicians to make up this band. Yes Lani Hall is a terrific singer but this is Sergio's vision.
Lani Hall made Brasil 66. It is her voice, and incredibly mysterious beauty, that gave them the ingredient for the sound that made them into one of the best groups of all time.
Are you sure it was her husband? Perhaps it was some wannabe who was making noises his ability could not match. Either way, thank you, but I remain unconcerned and stand by my opinion. Lani Hall was Brasil '66.
He is entitled to his opinion no matter how wrong he is, I suppose. I can understand his bias, IF it was her husband. Janice was very easy on the eyes for a fact. I saw Brasil '66 in concert in 1968 at The University of Texas.
The jazz break in the middle would do Vince Guaraldi or Dave Brubeck proud. Thanks for posting.

@MrLawman10 You are right, MrLawman10. It is Herb's wife, the one and only Lani Hall with her exquisite, incomparable and priceless voice.
