  • it's just strange that the critic managed to ignore that he shat himself

  • Did the movie... break NC?

  • I do remember the fantastic house this takes place in...which was wasted on this nonsense.

  • question. why couldn't she just STAND OUT OF THE WAY WHEN GIVING THAT SPEECH?!

    SHE WOULDN'T HAVE DIED THEN!

THE REMAKE IS CRAP AND MAKES NO SENSE!

I'D RATHER WATCH THE REMAKE OF FRIDAY THE 13TH!

  • Hi Casper

  • Who else thinks The Critic's crazy freakout moment should of been a Big Lipped Alligator Moment?

  • PFT, the hands from The legend of Zelda where FAR more scarier than these CGI...

  • 10:33 THE MADNESS BEGINS!

  • Wait the Wallmasters are scary... You ever get grabbed by one of those sons of bitches?

  • 2:22 i just lost it.

  • The last 4 minutes of this review are the best NC has created in a long time.

  • It was hilarious watching NC lose his mind , although at first I didn't know it was a joke a j

  • Press 1 for "really creepy". Press 6 to have Owen Wilson beheaded for his terrible line.

  • 10:50-12:12 I've never laughed harder at one of his reviews

  • He should review the remake of House On Haunted Hill. It's equally as bad.

  • I think he went just a TAD over board at the spaz out moment... but still pretty funny review.

  • 7:33-7:43

"My god" its like liam nesson was reading my mind

  • whats the clip at 03:44 from?

  • @AzraelX661 Ghostbusters

  • 4 people didnt know who was holding their hand....

  • 8:26-9:18 Oh gosh my sides.

  • 12:12

    ...

I´ll reserve you a room at the mental hospital right away...

  • What does he mean by the "Jumping the Shark" moment? I didnt get it.

  • @RisingVictor "Jumping the Shark" is a term used to describe something in a film or TV show to describe the moment when things started to get goofy or absurd. The term refers to an episode of "Happy Days" where Fonzie really did jump over a shark on jet skis.

  • @tonymuyo I did look that part up, that it refers to that episode. But when I think about it, when he jumps the shark in that episode it doesnt sound TOO goofy. Compared to that BIGASS shark that jumps 1000 feet in the air eating the plane. Damn O.O that actually scares the shit outta me. To think that would happen. Is "Jumping the Shark" supposed to be neccesarily a bad thing?

  • I watched the original when I was about 8. I almost had a fit when that woman who we thought was dead appears at the top of the stairs.

  • About a year ago, this movie was on TV and I tuned in on the part where she said the speech at the end... I bursted out laughing and said "THIS is supposed to be a horror movie??"

  • Nostalgia Critic knocks him but if it wasn't for Owen Wilson pointing out the scary parts, I would have thought this was a comedy :P

  • Tiiiiimiiiiing.....

  • This movie actually terrified me as a kid.

  • 11:22 the repugnant idiocy of bad film making has finally got to Doug's head, R.I.P. NC's sanity.

  • You will not give me Leia buns of fun!

  • 11:22 I smell issues o_______o

  • Hey! ...I found the wallmasters scary as a kid... O_O

  • silence!

    I KILL YOU!

  • "This was made for adults, right? English speaking adults?!?"

  • Hey, those wallmasters are way scarier than this crap.

  • 4:06 reminded me of Face from Nick Jr.

  • feryuwityowertywerutyweo scratch that >_<

  • 3:33 am i the only one who thought of kingdom hearts??

  • @IEatedYourMuffin Hm *looks back to it* How so?

  • @Kinkiro0013 never mind ._. i meant the part where the hand came out of the door to grab the dude

  • @IEatedYourMuffin That reminded me more of Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess XD

  • @Kinkiro0013 oh XD my brother had that game a long time ago

  • but didn't all of the "great-great-grandmother's" children die? so how is she the great-great-grandaughter?

  • prepare hollywood is on a remake streak again.....we love you old fright night, tron, smurfs and all the other movies who have been and will be remade in the coming years!!!!

  • @triscodeckaphobia You forgot The Thing, Superman, Conan, The Spider-Man franchise & Fantastic 4 franchise XD

  • 4:01 pure nightmare retardent

  • And the "EVIL UNSTOPABLE" GHOST was killed by..wha..what did you say...BY THE FEMALE LEAD AND "LOVE"

Oh thank god they stopped doing these remakes when these type of endings huh?

  • @crh2010 that type of ending is for walt diesny. <"D

  • Owen Wilson's nose is fucked. Just felt like stating the fucking obvious.

  • @FudgePackProductions He broke it scateboarding.

  • @NCWC2 I didn't know that. I hope someone filmed it, so we can all have a laugh watching it on FailBlog.

  • The hand holding scene from the original sent a chill down my spine i had to relive over n over again, the new version is an abortion of a thoughtful psychological horror

  • Okay this is where I quite a line from the movie about how much it sucked, but the quotes suck so bad that all I can say is this...THIS MOVIE FUCKING SUCKS!!!

  • Reeaally creappy

  • This movie is not reeeeaally creepy

  • Defeated by the power of love, huh?

    That sounds stupid unless...

Huey Lewis and the News broke out in the background.

No then it would still be stupid.

  • The critic should realize, those hands were fucking creepy.

In Zelda. Seriously, have you ever tried to get a treasure and one of those things grab you. You attempt to escape but instead, it drags you to the entrance, and back to fighting more monsters.

This hand was not scary. Not in the slightest. But then, neither was this movie. Except that some writer actually thought it was, THAT was scary.

  • 5:15 I would so read that book.

  • Comment removed

  • wtf why does this movie have heaven and ghosts those are two conflicting opinions?

  • did you know this film cost $80 million?

  • 5:21 I thought it said: ZITA ZITA ZITA ZITA!!!!

  • Tiiiiiimiiiiiiing

  • NC needs to do "The Wicker Man" remake!!!!!!

  • 2:23 I KILL YOU

  • It's so random at 11:33 when Doug acts like he's pooping on his chair! I BURST OUT LAUGHING EVERY TIME I SEE THAT PART!

  • Dude, wallmasters are fucking terrifying. Especially compared to this CGI.

  • I love his little freak out its hella funny!

  • 9:27-9:39

What was that song? Sounds good.

  • 3 people disliked this video.

  • @FatcopGTAIV 4 people are now DEAD!!!

  • @FatcopGTAIV 4 people.

  • @FatcopGTAIV 38 people liked your comment

  • Reeally creepy...

  • 3 people thinks that the lady is saying about family and love.

  • It's about family!!! No it's NOT!!! Then what's it about?! Pop tarts?? It's not Pop tarts!!!!!

  • 02:33 Holy crap is the door from Devil May Cry!

The Nostaligia Critic is just pure comedy, he does'nt even have to try, he IS THAT AWESOME.

  • 2:46 Wall Masters are even scarier than that CGI shit!

  • does anyone really care that own wilson was killed like that?

  • Casper is finally scary!! You know, compared to fucking EVERYTHING in this film.

  • @SurrenderToLola horay i'm now scary ahahahahahahahahahaha!

  • Partway through the rant NC actually began to scare me.

  • BEST...NC RANT... EVER!

  • @Pictoron best nc rant yet

  • 11:20-12:12 - Was the NC doing an impression of Michael Bay?

  • 10:12 - 12:12 I wonder what his mom n dad thinks of his job now? Lol

  • SIENCE I KILL U

  • holy shit that fucking skeleton scared me

  • hay look its the staircase from casper

    *slap*

    i desive that

  • TIIIIIMIIIIING >:D

  • Oh, hey! Owen Wilson is in this movie? I just noticed.

  • That two-minute stretch from 10:12 to 12:12 was scarier than any part of the movie he had shown.

  • You know what the best part about NC haaaating this movie is?

If anyone's seen his Siskel and Ebert review, he loves Ebert a lot. Now on the flip side, Ebert is about the only critic who actually gave this remake a positive review.

  • @Cornwiggle doesn't mean doug should stop respecting him. on the contrarty, doug supports people who like what he doesn't like

  • Really Creepy......

  • Tiiiiiiimiiiiiiiiiiiing...Casper FTW ^^

  • There should be another remake of this film. Why? So the Nostalgia critic can do his cancelled Old vs New episode with the original (that is...if the remake is as good, or faithful as the original.

  • I honestly think that Doug went somewhat mad when impersonating the writer for this remake.

I looks like he was going to do a short version then got angrier and angrier as he went ion until he just lost it and, as he said, "went nuts for a bit there".

Still, can't blame him for what he said.

  • Thank you captain obvious, don't you mean CATHERINE obvious?!

  • Also, I thought "jumping the shark" meant something was good, and then it becomes bad. If the movie was bad throughout, how can the Wilson scene be jumping the shark? It would be like trying to peg the moment when Transformers jumps the shark.

  • @WastedPo

I think he meant that it went from *bad movie* to *fucking horrendous piece of regurgitated cow shit movie*.

  • Lilly Taylor deserved an Oscar for this movie for being the only actor who didn't come across as terrible. Seriously take ANY scene and any line-reading from any of the other actors and they always look awful.

  • "What the hell, you save the people that're already dead and yet you leave me like a chicken with his head cut off?! Aw, fuck this shit, man, I'm going to go do some Ben Stiller movies. They're intentionally funny."

  • TIMING!

  • How did Owen Wilson jump the shark? He died. Don't those who jump the shark usually survive when they should've died in a situation that was obviously inescapable?

  • @moviemaniac14 Maybe it's more of what a stupid way to die. You could get hit and fall backwards from that head statue, but to just take its head just like that?! He should've called this "Bullshit!"

  • 10:13-12:31

Greatest Nostalgia Critic Blow Up EVAH!! Nothing he does after that will ever top it

  • TIIMMIIIINNNGGG!! Should have known Casper would show his face in a ghost movie. XD

Matter of fact....we need another Casper review. That would be sweet!!

  • I want to buy this book

  • SILENCE! I KILL YOU!

  • i was expecting some casper jokes, fourtunatly he didnt

  • @srnefe

actually he did do that "timing" joke

  • hahaha awesome freak out!!!

    I agree this remake SUCKED!!!!!!

  • "Dumbest speech in a horror film" How about dumbest speech to ever be in a movie?

  • @40Pacino I think NC is still remembering Rocky's speech after defeating Drago.

  • "And here I am. Paintings are calling out to me, strange noises in the night."

    THANK YOU, MORTICIA ADAMS.

  • Obviously, Doug never played Ocarina.

  • 2:22 Silence! I Keel you!

  • 10:12 - 12:22 My reaction to Disney's Jungle Book ruining original Jungle Book, and me planning to make a better Jungle Book.

  • 1. I think I see where the people who made The Haunted Mansion movie got teir inspiration.

    2. The Critic rewriting the ending and loseing his shit probably happened in real life.

3.I might have, but can someone confirm me about the Jumping the Shark moment how it's so?

  • SILENCE! I KILL YOU!|

  • 10:34 - 12:31 - My Version - After reading the original SAW movie (Positive reviews) then he proceeds to making SAW V (Usually with negative reviews). :3

  • I hate Owen Wilson.

  • scary movie 2 made a parody of this

  • NC does the best Owen Wilson Impression ever!

  • If he's making another fuck-ups video,I found one in 6:01. (In Douchey voice) CASPER HAS TWO RIGHT HANDS! YOU TREE-KILLER!

  • i didnt even know they remade this

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe when the remake director saw the original it made him insane thenhe maid a bad movie!

  • Weird, when Owen Wilson got thrown into the fireplace, I thought he'd get burned to death...oh well.

  • Why was Owen Wilson playing a guy with his brother's name?

  • did he say krang, or kran?

  • TIIIIIIMIIIIIIING!

  • Sadly, this was the first movie I ever saw Owen Wilson starred in.

  • @GeonTheDayDreamer my first one was Cars, it's pretty good.

  • SILENCE, I KILL YOU

  • The monster is defeated by the writing of Huey Lewis!

  • I'd like to read how sh#$@% this movie is.

  • FUCK YEA Lieam Neeson made it!!!!

  • this movie is embarrassing...hell, SCARY MOVIE 2 Took this plot more seriously...AND THATS PLAYED OUT FOR F*^&ING LAUGHS!

  • The ghosts look like the chocolate people in the hershey ads >>

  • Spinach is green I'm just throwing that out there. Oh god they just found Jeff Dunham's lost Dead Terrorist puppet! SILENCE! I'LL KILL YOU! Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable. You are a poor scientist! JUST BECAUSE YOU STEAL A LINE FROM A SCARY MOVIE DOESN'T MAKE IT AUTOMATICALLY SCARY! TIMING! THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS! (BANG) WHAT?! That was total cock dick! It's about family. NO IT'S NOT!

  • Comment removed

  • good news, this is the worst remake ever, even worse than that godzilla remake. bad news it lost 5 golden raspberry awards to wild wild west, which is considered to be the worst western film ever!

  • IIM GONNA KILL YOU ELANOR! OH HEHEHEHEHE

  • @SilverGummiShark I agree. And to be honest, they STILL creep me the fuck out.

  • Interestingly, I’ve heard that Orson Welles really hated Robert Wise’s guts. Certainly, he was never as childish or immature as the Critic’s breakdown here, but if you Google Orson Welles and “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, you might get an idea of what Welles thought.

  • @HenryConway007 NC is pointing out that Jan de Bont is the one that's childish and immature.

  • @jp3813 Well, duh!

  • @HenryConway007 You were talking about Robert Wise.

  • @jp3813 I mentioned that Welles also hated Wise, for his role in “The Magnificent Ambersons” travesty.

  • @HenryConway007 I was referring to your statement that Wise "was never as childish or immature as the Critic's breakdown here". He was actually being sarcastic towards de Bont.

  • @jp3813 I said that Welles was never that immature or childish. Regarding your second statement- again, DUH!

  • @HenryConway007 I see. The Critic never mentioned Welles in his breakdown so I assumed that you were talking about Wise when you said "he".

  • @jp3813 He’s probably not aware of the connection. I just thought it ironic that Welles, a truly great director, actually DID think Wise was a talentless hack, albeit he probably stated it much more eloquently. And while I do think Wise directed some excellent films, and is considerably underrated today (no doubt his part in “The Magnificent Ambersons” fiasco is one of the reasons), I’d have to give Welles the edge.

  • wow, caspers timing, and zuule mthafucka, 2 self made in jokes in one review, all thats missing the exposition song

  • 10:35 - 12:10 The Critic's BEST breakdown ever. XDD

  • 5:57 CASPERRRRRRR!

  • How does a DEATH count as jumping the shark?

  • @skellington15 well...... it was a silly death

  • @skellington15 Well to be honest I think it would take a little more then that to knock a guy's head off.

  • Keep pressing 0.

  • I'm Owen Wilson :)
