ma voiture démarre bien à froid, mais quand elle chaude dès fois elle ne veut plus démarrer. Ca ce produit de manière aléatoire, mais dans ce cas je ne peux plus la faire démarrer, elle refuse. Je suis dans l'immobilier, donc je m'arrête souvent. Ce matin j'ai louper un rdv important. Je m étais arrêté pour une visite d'appartement et elle n'a plus voulu démarrer. Je devais me rendre chez notaire avec un client. J'ai vainement essayé de la faire démarrer, mais elle n'a pas voulu

my 325es does the same thing , it would start sometimes , and the times when it wouldn't i would check for spark ... no spark .. no electricity on the ignition coil

Over thirty thousand people watched this and you didn't tell us what the problem was. It's been three years, what happened?

First step is usually to decide if it's a fuel or a spark problem. It's not starter or battery, your engine is trying and starter is working. Pull a plug wire and see if you have spark. Do you smell gas? To clarify if it's a gas problem you could spray some fuel into the intake manifold and see if it starts. If it starts then dies, consider fuel pump or pump fuse.

I have same problem; 95 Olds Cutlass Supreme. I do smell gas so I know then that gas pump/relay are working. Engine sounds like it wants to start, so battery and starter are ok.

Would alternator cause this?

If a plug wire shows no spark, then is the problem the plug(s)? Or distributor cap? Car was ok up until tonight.

@EssedariusMaiestas I doubt the alternator, more likely the coil, distributor, or maybe plug wires. You might pull a second wire to be sure about the no spark observation. "Eric the Car Guy" did a really good video here on youtube showing you how to trace a no spark condition back -- watch that one.

Thanks for the info.

For some reason, the car started the next day, but something was still wrong. When I drove it, it seemed like car had a rhythmic pause of acceleration cycling with phases of normal acceleration. This seemed more apparent with velocity of less than 10mph. Over 30mph, it seemed to disappear, but would become worse after another stop at stop-sign. Perhaps a spark plug/coil? Mechanic has it now so I'll find out what he said and update here.

its a fuse or a relay check the relay on the outside toward the headlight should be a four prong there like 5 bucks for a new one if that doesent work check your fuses then your ignition switch then your external fuel pump and maybe replace your fuel filter

Was anything done to it? Timing off, damage valve assembly, or mechanical problem can produce this problem. Don't jump into conclusion and start throwing ignition and fuel delivery system parts in! Check fuel pressure after checking for sparks. Remove Plugs and do a compression test. There are times a compression test may pass due to a damaged rocker arm not opening the valve. Sometimes require taking valve cover off to check. Check timing Belt to see if tooth missing and skiped gear.

Because it tried to run and it held for a few seconds -- so that means fuel pressure is present and is being delivered to the motor
