  • Getting this bike next week...

  • Nice video. Hi, I've just bought a Jetstream P8, and I'm finding it very difficult to fold. It needs some (a lot to be honest) strength. Is there any way to make it easier? Some kind of tuning? It looks to be to tight! Otherwise, It rides wonderful. I've tried asking Dahon, but... no response! And the store, just sent me a link to a video. I know how to fold it, i just think that there must be a problem since it needs so much strenght. Thks

  • @miguelAmedeiros If your hinges are stiff it means that you'll need to do some adjustment on them to loosen them up. This is usually something your dealer would be able to do if you bring it back. We make a point to check this on every bike we sell before shipping. Are you able to get in contact with your dealer? -Peter

  • beautiful

  • Thumbs up if you like the dahon speed uno better. I don't know why, but it looks better.

  • @john58569 MU Uno rides nicer and has better components. The Speed Uno has a more classic frame.

  • woot! i love dahon!

I'm actually caught between Mu Uno and Speed Uno. I like Speed Uno's tires than Mu's.

May I know how much is their weight difference? thanks!

  • @s1nglespeeder 2 lbs, the Speed frame is steel and a bit heavier. -Peter

  • worst bike i have ever owned, started to fall apart as soon as i got it, Yes it has a life time warranty but getting the supplier to send part is a nightmare, plus its made in china....

  • @moakley Did you not contact the dealer you purchased the bike through for support? If any of our customers have a problem with this bike we have their back with Dahon 100%. I would contact your dealer immediately if you are having problems with the bike. -Peter

  • @moakley You probably got a shitty bike literally, everyone I know who has this bike says it rocks. You probably got a bad bike. NYCEwheels looks cool and from what I've heard does well with customers. BTW, how can you have this bike it's not out yet? Unless you were referring to the normal Speed Uno

  • @MKF30 yeah its the normal speed uno

  • @moakley I see. Hopefully you had better luck with another model or different place of purchase. I've heard some stories of people ordering from ebay and there's parts missing or something damaged...that sucks.

  • Cool!

  • do you have to replace the back tyre alot? I own a fixed gear bike (full size) and i do every now and again, is this the same? Cheers from the UK! :)

  • @RiOtEmpire777 Any time you do a lot of skidding you'll have to replace the rear tire more often. So yes, if you like to do skid stops you'll have to replace the tire a bit more often. -Peter

  • how do dahons compare with bromptons??

  • @JogBird Dahons are great bikes for the money, we have a lot of customers who ride every day on Dahons. But I think the real difference is in how they fold and the price. If you want a bike in the $500 - $1000 range that folds nicely and rides well a Dahon is great. If you can spend a bit more money and want or need a folding bike that gets much smaller a Brompton might be the way to go. -Peter

  • @nycewheels Hey dude, does this bike have that cool tire pump in the seat like some of the others, also does the normal Uno have one too? I'm trying to decide which is better, this or the normal Uno lol. I like both! and both are cheaper! :)

  • @Sibs1990 Yeah the Brompton electric bike is so popular we get comments on it on our other videos, as you have! If you get a chance to stop by our shop in NYC you can test ride this awesome folding electric bike. Maybe I'll see you there? -Peter

  • @nycewheels Also, it says on your nyce site that MU Uno won't come out in 2011? But yet you have a video on it here? Confused? And both have the tire pumps, correct?

  • @Sibs1990 You could, single speed electric bikes are pretty awesome: simple, easy to ride, and no fuss. Bert, the owner of NYCeWheels has a single speed Brompton electric bike and we can use the same kit to electrify any folding bicycle. So yeah, we could put a motor in it! -Peter

  • love this bike...

  • @Adherangga It's so simple and clean, one of my favorite Dahons. -Peter

  • what ?it has no break? How do you break when you really have to??

  • @phenochio The Mu UNO actually comes with an optional front brake, but I chose not to use it in the video to keep the bike looking as clean as possible. Aside from that front brake the bike has a coaster brake, just pedal backwards and the rear wheel stops spinning. It's really great if you like to skid dramatically to a stop. Thanks for the question!

  • TX, Happy Holidays.

  • @nycewheels cool man, what about the chain protection thing, I keep hearing from reviews that thing ends up getting chewed with chain ?

Also, can you do any mild off-roading with this ?

How is the peddle break when applied to slow down going down hill ? Will I be skidding all over the place ?

  • @semo2010 We've sold a bunch of these and I've never had any complaints about the chain protector getting chewed up. The tires are wide enough for off-roading but I would suggest getting the bike with the optional front hand brake installed. That will give you some extra braking power on hills. The coaster brake is not an all or nothing setup, you can slow down gradually without skidding. It took me a minute to get a feel for it and then it was just as effective as hand brake. -Peter

  • this is probably the bike that i've been looking for a while now .. ! is it still good for long distance ? and if i have reasonably alright legs, is it possible to climb reasonably steep hills with this ?

  • @semo2010 The Unu is definitely a fun choice. If you're ok with working a little harder on the hills the Uno actually has some advantages: its only 22lbs so very light, it is uncluttered and looks amazing, its relatively inexpensive for the performance you get out of it. -Peter

  • @nycewheels do the handle bars come up ???

  • @rickbar123 Sadly no, the Uno handlebars aren't adjustable in order to keep the bike very light weight and stiff. A similar design is used in the higher end Dahon performance folding bikes like the Vector X20. It's part of what keeps the bike so light. - Peter

  • @nycewheels I just ordered a Brompton from you guys, your vids sold me, great job. If you ever ride to Philly again let me know.

  • @rickbar123 Wow! Congratulations! Thanks for the feedback, we really appreciate your comments. Keep watching, there's much more to come. Enjoy you're new Brompton, I wish I could do a loop by the art museum with you guys down there. Can't wait to get back to Philly sometime. Cheers!

  • awesome bike! i love the simplicity of it. I will have to buy one of these soon. question, can this bike be stuffed into an airplane carryon suitcase without disassembly?

  • @daviddang82 The Uno folds down to 10.1" x 30.4" x 25.7" (26 x 78 x 66 cm). It's always best to check with your airline before flying to get updates on the most recent luggage regulations, but I think you'd most likely have to check it. Dahon actually has a special suitcase for this purpose call the AirPorter.
