  • you can so tell who his hero is...

  • THAT BASS DRUM SOUNDS AWESOME MAN

  • Not bad, but from a drummers viewpoint, its nothing new or that special. If you want to see real talent look for tony royster jr., Benny greb or jojo mayer.

  • hey jesse its me travis sup man

  • Really...................Really???? Nothin awesome about this!! Any 15 year old punk that has a trap set could do all this funamental crap. Do not compare this drummer to Bonham, there is no comparison.

  • @austinstroker11 umm... yeah. I can't stand it when people start bashing musicians as soon as they're compared to their idols. so he isn't a second bonham, whatever. no reason to put down a talented musician like john fred young like this. show me a "15 year old punk" who can play a dynamic and entertaining solo such as this one

  • @VentoRdrummeR Sorry you were offended, I really am! but there is No comparison between Bonham and this guy. John Fred is a good drummer but not great, Bonham was greatness!! And that is not a put down just being real, Again sorry you were offended, I work in Austin Tx where drummers are a dime a dozen, if you dont keep it real here you will get your feelings hurt a lot, Grow some thicker skin my friend, I like musician skill, not musician attitude, Skill will take you where attitude wont!!

  • @austinstroker11 well thanks for explaining yourself - and it's not like I'm some JFY fanboy, so no hurt feelings here :) I just think it's exaggerated to say he's full of shit. his skill or non-skill obviously brought him somewhere, according to your logic. anyway, you're right about the whole attitude thing, in the end it IS hard work that takes a musician somewhere. if you don't have the tools, your attitude is worth jack shit

  • @VentoRdrummeR A youtube sensation and a local following is all this cat has. I congratulate him for that. His name is not a name that is brought up in any of my drumming circles, how many gigs have you played and folks tell you your the best they ever heard?? I ask several Austin musicians if they had heard of John Fred Young, most replys were.....didnt he play for the Headhunters? LOL .Other replys were....no.... ask anybody who Bonham is.......they will know!!!!

  • @austinstroker11 The Kentucky Headhunters had his uncle or father in it with the same name and I talk about John Fred all the time he is a great drummer to watch kinda like Tommy Stuart from Godsmack/Lo Pro he has that wide and wild style that is just great to watch.

  • Great band. Great drummer. Glad to see some KY roots with some Bonham style.

  • i think bonham was reborn as john fred young

  • @wiskieDan John Fred Bonham

  • I see Animal is a major musical influence of his.

  • chingonnnnn!!!

  • best new drummer around. amazingly fast right foot. he uses Ludwig Speed King !!

  • CREAM T shirt :), lol hes intense alot of Bonham there

  • almost similar sound and style to his uncle.

  • im 14 years ol i met Fred @ a banquet thing in TN for St Judes Kids Huntin for a Cure hunt hes a really nice guy so was his dad who invited me 2 meet em all bt i only gt to meet Fred because they had 2 leave early bt they were playin the nxt day i gt ther 2 late n didnt gt 2 meet em Fred has always amazed me he watched me play a guitar n said i shud buy it n i did bt before i could tell em i cudnt find em they had left n i never met him after tht bt tht guitars always remind me of him n tht day!

  • hes so good dude

  • John Fred Young...the best since John Henry Bonham!!!...saw both live and I know what I'm talking about...believe

  • i thought he was bald .........wtf

  • LOL bald .... he needs a haircut so much! But amazing drum solo!

  • lol you need a haircut.

  • hes a great drummer, seeing him live is even better!

  • does he use double pedal bass

  • only on the song "devils queen"

the rest is just him being damn fast on the single pedal :D

  • @SamditoN64 dude on devils queen he still use one pedal!

  • yeah i know this now!

    fucking awesome :D

  • yes

  • @sup7300 no only one pedal =)

  • no he doesn't :) besides u can see the hi-hat opening/closing.. so ;)

btw saw him live this summer @ nova rock.. well he is one of the coolest drummers i've seen live

  • @sup7300 No.

  • im goin ta see em in octoberr!!!!!:D:D

  • he sits quite high on the drum seat :L

  • yea, he seems like a pretty big guy too., ive never seen anyone sit over their drums like this, but he does great.... so whatever works huh

  • black stone cherry/ john fred young FTW!

  • i remember this. it was awesome=] i was in like the middle though so it was kind of hard to see=]

  • dude! was this at the hummingbird (now the 02/carling academy) in Birmingham? Coz i think i was there! With Stone Gods supporting? aaand with Sevendust?

  • I saw the same tour i expect he just used roughly the same drum solo.

  • no, this was in cave city KY, their cd release party...... its their homeland

  • A lot of Bonham material in there. Amazing drumming BLACK STONE CHERRY FOREVER!!

  • cool do you have all of the concert

  • Nah, time spent holding the camera was time spent without my full attention on the show

  • Hes in the pocket at 1:20

  • What does that mean in druming terms

  • It means he is right on time, in the groove, in the pocket IS a drumming term...........

  • behold, the new bonham.

  • Never thought I'd agree with something like that, and while not a huge Zep fan, you could very well be right!

  • i was there!
