cuz they all try to compete with SC by immitating it. when original SC came out, it had 3 races where most rts games had only 2 at the time. This game was so successful that many other companies made games with similar features.

I swear starcraft is besed loosly on the old starship troopers book at least in concept. You had the human, the giant bugs, and a third race which were referred to as the skinnies and were described as looking alot the way the protoss do in this game. Not saying they stole any story just that it may have been an inspiration for its creation. I thinks it kicks ass and I can't wait for 2 to come out. Hell it's been 11 years already!

Well what would be the point in online multiplayer capabilities if you could only play as Terran for the first year? The first CD will likely be a Terrain campaign CD, with the whole single-player campaign focusing on one specific race. Multiplayer will still be on Bnet.

Try doing this, in a single player custom match: make a huge protoss army of your choice and compact them into one spot, then send an arbiter to go around your enemy's defenses and to the back. After getting there, charge straight into the enemy's base and use Recall on your army. That, good sir, is win.

the terrains have a specialist unit called ghosts that have the ability to launch a nuke. It cost very long to build and is hard to contain more than 1 at a time so that was very hard to do at the end. so don't think that terrain are "overpowered"
