  • Is there a hint of radiator fan in there too can't belive it's just 17 qwid

  • these recording are from were the microphones have been placed, they can be modified to include the din of the track as it moves

  • ok thanks, just bought the bachmann e-z control and its super! only have 1 dcc train now, but will buy more in the future.

  • i have a question, if i buy the bachmann dcc controller will i be able to control with this my other not dcc trains? if not do i have to install a dcc things into them?

  • Tell you what, I always thought that SWD decoders were much better sound than Howes, but the Howes 20s in your vid are much better than the Bachmann sound, which sounds crap, when opened up. Love the weathering too!

  • ive got one of these which i thought was excellent, must admit these sound better even via a pc, a more earthy sound. did you keep the same speaker in? how much does it cost, im tempted.....

  • When I did these clips the loco had bachmanns factory fitted speaker, I have now replaced it with DCC Supplies small speaker which costs between £5-£10 including postage.

The cost for having your ESU decoder Re-blown goto Howes web-site for current price.

  • Oooh, that sounds sooo much better than the standard Bachmann setup.Exellent weathering by the way,i wish i could get mine to look like that!!

  • Fantastic stuff.Guess where my Bachmann class 20 with on board is going to go to for a reblow?? Now I've seen this, will def send mine to Howes!! Cheers

  • I think that's the first sound chip I've heard that sounds like the real thing! Superb!

  • Thanks for the comment, Howes Models do a fine job in re-blowing ESU sound decoders and I highly recommend them for that service.

  • There are 3 places where you could get a class 40 sound chip from.

    South West Digital

    DCC Supplies/MR Soundguy

    Howes

  • The factory fitted ESU decoder is the 21 pin version so fitting it into a class 40 is not possible unless you know how to wire it or if Bachmann change there 40s chassis fron 8 pin to 21 pin socket. They do sound the same but are not. If you want a Class 40 sound just give Howes Models a call or go on their web site. (See my main page for address).

  • Nice ending! Lovely, can't wait till the layout is done!

  • Hi JBT, I thought you might like the ending. I have been going on for a while about my layout to friends, How I designed it and what program I used. Now at last I can now say I have 90% finished the Baseboard. All is needed is a good day for painting them before the cork tiles can be glued.

  • O good

  • wow, there brilliant, i want 1 now but can't since my layout will be DC not DCC!

  • Glade you like the choppers, I was amazed when I fired up these in the shop yesterday, A crowd of my customers just turned their head, stop what they where doing, and came over.

  • lol, i love class 20's, i have got my dad's hornby dublo 1 from the 60's which he got for christmas in 1965! it run like new.

  • Wow, Cool, Thats a breeze Block on wheels, I sold one of them over a year ago for a friend, I managed to get £250.00 for it. It was boxed and in Mint condition. I love to see a clip of it running. Take great care of the chopper Dec.
