  • How do I unlock my Garmin nuvi GPS? I bought it at a pawn shop. It seems to be in great shape, other than it seems to be in great shape.

  • man you are killing me.I just saw the video of you talking about the Garmin Nuvi 265 wt , I was ready to buy it a 100% ,but now you are talking so nice about this 205 .I dont know what to get

  • so is this one better than the G Nuvi 265 WT

  • Somebody stole my GPS, (i was in the ghetto silly me)

does anybody know if i can track it?

  • @progama13

    umlaut. hab ich auch verstanden

  • I buy the 205 T today for 55 euro

  • Digite no Google: comprou um GPS Garmin e está precisando de mapa (BRASIL, EUA, Europa etc.)? e acesse o resultado do dihitt, linkk etc.

  • I love the technology, fyi before I bought I checked out gpssatnavreviews (.) com

  • I have one but this sales pitch is as cheesy as it gets. Dumbing down the people, LOL! god help us when people get lost without a gizmo dependant on sats.

  • @6400hendrik ja

  • i got Tomtom GPS and this Garmin, and i think Tomtom is best

  • @6400hendrik your such a liar

  • does this Garmin remember way-points ? Someone I know has one and seems to think you have to enter the data each and every time, and it does not save. (My Tomtom remembers waypoints and saves this). Does anyone know the procedure on this Garmin

  • what is the "extras" icon for??

  • @gansitomarinela38 To add in custom waypoints from other navigating software like Mapsource. The custom waypoints is installed via the USB drive or via the micro SD card.

  • @6400hendrik wow, what car do you drive?

  • Say "VERY VERY " a few more times.

    ya spaz

  • Is this little thing works in the philippines?

  • I went no Miami on a vacation and got lost. Took the wrong bus and ended up in Hialeah.... what a horrible place!! Anyway... this is a great video and I like your sarcastic comments. Tks

  • I bought one about a month ago and let the battery get low, then recharged it. Can someone give me some recharging info for battery maintenance. Such as, upon buying the garmin, should you let the battery run down completely or just low? After that, how often is it necessary to let the battery run down (again, low or completely)? I'm looking for specific information about battery maintenance if anyone can send me a message.

  • Well, i bought a Garmin Nuvi 205W today and the girl that sold it to me, said that when you buy it it has 2 lines of battery, which is true, then she told me to wait until it has 1 line only and then recharge it for 12 hours

  • Thanks. I'm confused as to what "2 lines of battery" means?

Basically, are you saying to NOT let the battery go down completely, only close before recharging?

Then I'm guessing let it drain every six months and recharge for battery maintenance?

I only charged mine for about 4 or 5 hours, but its was completely charged.

Garmin should do a better job with in letting people know what to do.

  • In the marker of the battery there are 4 lines that indicate the status of the battery, and what i meant was THE FIRST TIME YOU BUY THE GPS, not all the times, i dont know about that cause i got it today, but what i know is that the FIRST TIME you gotta recharge it for 12 hours when it has only 1 battery line left

  • Ah OK, now i got it. I had a feeling thats what you mean't, I just wasn't positive. I let it run down to 1 battery line before I recharged it. But, again, I only charged it for 4 or 5 hours, although I saw all 4 battery lines back. Any suggestions on what I should do now since I only charged it for 4 or 5 hours?

  • i think that 4 or 5 hours is ok now if you got 4 lines, i think that 12 hours is only the first time

  • after u bought something let the battery go all the to zero then charge it all the way to a 100% , do that total of 3 times and u should be good

  • I'll give it a shot. I really wish the company would make things clear, oh well. Cheers!

  • Hej, what if I don't live in the USA? Does it work for Europe as well? Thanks

  • It DOES work in Europe, and pretty much everywhere if you just have the right maps. For instance I'm from Finland and I bought the nuvi 205 with nordic countries preprogammed in it. It works just fine and I already bought maps of North America and there's no problem with that either

  • how much does it cost

  • it cost 100., ill sell u one for 20 bucks

  • new?

  • @koca39 no used bit cant telll any wear and tear spotless

  • i got mine . im puttin it on my motorcycle cause it doesnt have a speedometer.

  • my camera's USB cable fits mine!

  • Who would want one, its just like another women, always giving out!

  • Mine didn't come with a USB cable either. It says in the instruction booklet that "some Nuvi 205's' come with a cable. So i guess it's like playing the lottery for a USB cable.

  • Hialeah is a dump, as is the rest of South Florida. -_- But the Garmin Nuvi's are good.

  • Comment removed

  • i just got one, its really great. if you are looking for a starter GPS you can;t beat this one. plus its upgradeable.

  • I just got this for X-Mas.. hopefully ill stop getting lost on the road

  • This guy likes to say "Really Really" and "Very Very" alot.

  • It didnt come wiht a usb cable

  • My mom just got this for Christmas.

  • Tool.

  • How about switching to 3D, how do you do that?

  • How do you space when your typin in stuff?

  • there is a key that looks like a flat letter u it is the space in is on the bottom row I think.

  • also he talks very fast like a salesman to try to get a person to buy this unit without thinking or knowing about the negatives of this product

  • i think he might be a employee of Garmin

  • he only says positive things about garmin and garmin 205. he doesn't mention that this DOES NOT HAVE TEXT TO SPEECH. this is a very fake review. a good review has good and bad things about a product.

  • @bryaniowa

the American version of this garmin does have TTS. Only the european versions does not have this feature

  • if you are seeing kansas on your garmin, get ur lazy ass and read the directions.

I love this thing. It doesn't shout out roads and everything but it's just basic. Turn left in some odd miles. Turn left here.

Hell ya don't even need the voice the picture itself makes trying to find shit off the map quest printout 100X easier.

Don't have to screw with it or talk to it. Just put in the destination and leave it alone.

    And it's cheap to.

  • great gps, the only problem I had was with the garmin lock.

while that was a great idea, if you go to unlock it while you're outside the safe zone, and accidently enter the wrong code, you'll be locked out and can't use the gps until you return to your safe zone (which is usually your house). So i was stuck on the road with no idea how to get home because it wouldnt unlock for me haha. but u live and learn. now i am VERY careful when entering the unlock code =)

  • I dunno...the Garmin safelock is prolly the best feature. Where I live there are tons of vehicle break-ins and the #1 thing stolen is GPS systems. But as you've mentioned, you live and learn. I don't doubt that THAT feature will come in handy if and when your car gets broken into...god-forbid of course

  • haha, I like playing the "beat your highest speed" game.

Not my fault Garmin put that info in!

  • what do you recomend

  • can you use this as a hand held unit

  • nice piece of thingy :)

  • DO NOT BUY! TOTAL POS!

It tells you to turn after you,ve passed the turn!

I Couldn't get mine to off of Kansas...

  • Vongoph... lol.... you fail... Instructions said PROVIDE AN OPEN VIEW AWAY FROM TALL BUILDINGS AND TREES. Otherwise it will think you are in Kansas, which is the location of the Garmin Headquarters

  • This is the WORST review I have ever seen. This guy does nothing but blow hot hair for 10+ minutes. There are much better reviews around. He doesn´t show MANY of the important features people would like to know about. He needs to find a new line of work. He obviously flunked review 101 in school.

  • ... they have a review 101 class in school? WHERE!? I wana sign up!

  • do these work in European countries?

  • yes, in all European country

  • *countries, sorry

  • does it tell you to turn on a specific street name

    i.e: Turn Right Mound Rd.

Does it say that in voice

  • No, this can't do it :)

  • but nuvi255w do it :)

  • ChaldeanDude14, yes it does

  • I picked up the nuvi 205 last week from Target. Doesn't come with the usb cable which is essential if you want to get the latest free map downloaded through your PC and transferred to your nuvi (you get one free map download update for a limited time). If you don't already have a usb cable lying around, you can buy one for under $10 at any electronics store. Overall, I'm very happy with this unit.

  • The 205W is the same thing, just wide-screen which makes navigating just that little bit easier...

I live in Thailand, and Garmin's maps are unbeatable. This device is a must have especially if you live somewhere you are not familiar with (and lots of road signage is in a foreign language). This is the solution!

  • me and my wife spent 2 days buyng diferents gps,so... the gps didn't like us, the gps we returned it back, so simple ! we were not doing anything illegal, just being smart and taking our time to get the right one, so we went to RADIO SHACK,BEST BUY,AND TARGET, we try the following gps: TOM TOM, NAVIGATOR, NAVMAN, AND NEXTAR, they're all sucked, so finally we found the right one,in TARGET, this one right here ( the ''garmin 'nuvi' 205" that was it ! ,boom !

  • Mine didn't come with a USB cable :(

  • Mine didn't either and that sucks

  • now you really shouldn't play that game...don't do that... drive the legal speed limit.. always... LOL that was hilarious!!

  • people i need help wht does it mean if i says it doesnt know where its at like it has a ? mark on the car?

  • It's acquiring a satellite signal usually when the ? is on the car

  • So...if anybody else owns this... is there ever a use for that built in microphone?

  • hahaha this guy is pretty sarcastic

  • I'm disappointed with my Nuvi 205, which I bought, because buying a new map for my Nuvi 200 is too expensive. When you're driving out and about in "view map" mode, it does not show much cross streets and it does not tell you the name of the street you're approaching, a feature on the Nuvi 200.

  • This is a really nice gadget, especially because of its low price.

  • We have 75mph and it shows that on the screen and when it dropped down to 60mph it showed that at the exact point. Thought that was a cool feature.

  • mine didn't come with the USB cord, whats up with that?

  • Mine didnt either, used the USB cord for my Panasonic cordless phone worked great. Got the updates for my 205 unit. No problems.

  • just bought one for $99 at Best Buy. Works great the only thing I don't like is it doesn't always take the shortest route and when you try to go the shortest route it keeps trying to take you back to the route it has chosen. I went to Salt Lake City and it routed me right thru the city when I could have been there in way less time via the freeway. Finding a place in the city was easy though. I'm still working with it.

  • my dad has the same GPS it is great and so easy

  • @ 07.20: He speeks of a speedlimit. How fast is the legal limit in the US? In Germany we dont have any limit on the Autobahn

  • I believe the Autobahn does have speed limits in some areas.

  • Thats right. Near tunnels or cities there are local speed limits. But most part dont have such a speed limit.

  • i wish our magellen has the lock feature

    that seems cool

but garmins are much more expensive

and even if they steal your gps

you still have to replace the windows and stuff they damagied, which cost double or more of the most expensive gps ever

    just hide your gps

  • this GPS is not very expensive. I have seen this for less then 100 EUR!!

  • hide ur radio and car tv too(remove ur headunit or screen).

  • radios are harder to steel

and most people dont have a car tv

    look at the news

    these bunches of people

just breaking into cars and selling the gps

  • well ,gps units are easiest to steal, but tne nuvi has pin.

radios are easy because i have seen a man leaving a car on a parking lot with a radio, and later he had a car without a window and without a radio. :-D

    about the car tv.....

i have a tv screen (7") and i use it with my radio with dvd!

  • if you are getting lost by not having one, you must be retarded ! LOL !

  • as a truck driver i use it daily. it is very reliable and Helps to be very accurate to the time of arrival points. It does have some problems in Texas but not enough to be a major problem. Like with a;; navagator devices you must be carefull and still make good on your planning the trip with more than 1 source

  • ****WARNING****

Shoppers: garmin no longer offer FM transmitting of voice instruction but garmin & its retailers continue to FALSELY ADVERTISE the feature.

Existing garmin users: if you update firmware above 8.01 you LOSE the feature also. garmin has disabled this feature for the entire world. tom tom, took a much more logical approach & only disabled it in 2 European countries that ban FM tranmission.

BUY tom tom - better maps and no tricky updates or false advertising.

  • does it still have voice guided instructions?

  • From my understanding the 205 has distance and turns and the 255 adds street names to that.

  • i have it and i love it easy and cheap.. lolz

  • Going to "Safe Location" acts as surrogate PIN CODE OVERRIDE?

Ten minutes of parking in your own driveway does it?

Google Android "Locale" finds location sensitive cousin it seems.

  • does it has speed camera warning?

  • In Malaydia, how much the price?

  • thats false!! The battery lasts 8hrs.

  • the most time of videw for the fixing device and not enough information for the function of device

  • unbelievable features at the price. I am going to grab one immediately.

  • soon very soon some people won't think at all because they will accept a microchip [mark of the beast] implanted in them and will be automatically doomed to hell.

  • Your So so Right----

Don't Recieve Any Mark Anywhere---Head Or Hands---no where

    Lets Stay Very prayerful

  • True... but lets not sit around and wait for dooms day... not supposed to do that!

  • I Respect that---Thanks

  • JAjajajajaj

  • i have a nuvi 200

  • portable GPS, headrest dvd player, alarms, gps, video, audio, leather interiors, upholstery and more!!!!

    rimoscorp com

  • Thank you very much! They have these at Circuit City (going out of business) for 119!

  • i got mine for $100 at circuit city 50% off

  • next they'll be making devices that makes all the decisions in life for you....wait a minute we already have that...it's called TV

  • dont think so unless your not smart enough to know where the off button is and then enjoy your tv and let the rest of us enjoy technology

  • I can't think of a better place to complain about technology-dependence than youtube.

  • Fantastic device!!!!! I was planning on buying one tomorrow for use as a pizza delivery driver, and it looks like it has more than I was hoping for!

Thanks for the good review. :)

  • had to watch this guy with the sound off

  • Um...lol... Wtf does driving 90 MPH and showing people pictures have to do with each other?! lol

  • garmins are the worst sat navs around not once has my garmin given me proper directions just made us go around in circles and when your on the motor it pisses you off

  • yup you dont know how to use one so all of the sudden Garmin has the worste in all the productions of gps systems. Lol

  • how hard is it though click where to enter info and go, besides if it is too hard to use then thats where garmin have failed by making the interface to complicated

  • u need to update probably sometimes they come outdated from the box and you need to register your product online and it gives you a free map update which you can install through usb cable. The same thing was happening to me I updated and works fine now.

  • I got mine a few days ago and I really like it, but it doesn't come with a USB cable. greece thessaloniki

  • I got mine a few days ago and I really like it, but it doesn't come with a USB cable. Fortunately a cable I already had for my Fuji FinePix camera worked so I didn't have to buy one.

  • i got this yesterday, but the 205w.

its the same thing ,but wide. i love it.

its soooooo easy to use and fun. some time it gets stuck wn im putting a new favorite destination .....thats the only probleme.

50 dollars more for the gps thing to tell you the name of the streets and place....I DONT NEED THAT SHIT. i love it and just give it a try.

  • so the one you have. It doesnt Say when to turn or anything like that?

  • Yes, but it doesn't have text to speech. So it doesn't say the names of the streets, only turn by turn directions.

Ex. turn left in 300 feet

  • well, as long as i get to where ever i'm going, that's fine.. :)

  • This was a pretty decent review. However, Bower comes across as a bit over caffeinated. He WAY over used the words/phrases, "actually", "very-very", "really-really", "simple" and "easy". Other than that, great job.

  • too be honest this gps gives u a longer route even thought u program it to give u a faster shorter route it makes u go throught more traffic lights and stuff and weird routes especially if uur under a subway train that thing will go beserk

  • "You dont have to press too hard" Lol and he press 2 times! 1:11

  • I just bought this at bestbuy, but the USB cable does not comes with it. However, the design of this product is really nice. Satalie response is pretty fast. Auto reroutating, photo viewer, multi language text display. I'm Korean, and I was surprised this product support Korean text display as well. This gps does not have the "Road specch" function. The voice just announce "Turn Right" but well, I dont care about street name announcement, so it's good for me.

  • ok I just got this and how do I charge it up, it only came with a vehicle power cable.. and also it did not come with a USB cable?

  • How the hell else would it direct you to a destination if you had no address... also, I'm pretty sure these things have a pre-loaded database of interest points that'll register when you're in the area

  • lol

  • i mean really... i dont think any gps had the "read your mind" feature. how the hell else would it know?

  • not always, you can find hospitals, schools, restaurants, a bunch of other destinations, plus you can browse the map and select places of interest indicated by icons, for instance, a cross for a hospital, etc

  • i have garmin 205t series which i actually won in a lucky draw. it works only in swiss, germany, austria and czech republic.. my quest. is - what do i have to do to use it in whole europe ?

  • You need to have full European mapping. I have a sat nav which I could have got with UK and Ireland maps only or Europe. Obviously I had the choice, but you should check and see what maps you have.

  • Does this have auto reroute?

  • Yes it does..

  • Wow I'm sold.. cant believe I was gonna get that crappy tom tom.. I just got this day after gobble day for $120 :- D

  • Good job and very informative.

  • A well done review of a great product. I started using GPS on my Laptop 4 years ago and thought it was great. However, the new GPS are light years ahead of Streets and Maps.

  • He lied! It doesnt come with a USB cable!

  • lol 107mph

  • Es ther a garman with a video out? I have a inscreen Kenwood stereo but the gps system from kenwood is close to $900.

  • I prefer ask people for directions. I also prefer to fight with my wife over the right directions, it's more family thing, you know?

  • LOL.

  • i just became fat

  • How did you manage that ?

  • I have an older model...I like the size of this one. Great review, Bauer!!

  • and i'm sure that photo data is intercepted somewhere.. so the spooks know where you've been taking pics. and i'm sure it's logged as well, in the device, and elsewhere. so, be carefull where you take pics, cus HLS might grab yo ass!!

still, nice GPS.. but ya gotta think about your privacy. sadly, nothing is private anymore. this is another example.

  • Well if they pass that RFID then they will know wherever everybody is lol.

  • Very nice video once again.

I might get this for my dad for christmass.

  • lol, got my dad a Garmin last Christmas..he considers it the best Christmas present ever

  • Woah, Nice GPS Bauer, Thx for review, im going to buy one for my dad soon, he really needs one lol
