I actually was in favor of the Peja/Artest trade because after Vlade left, Peja wasn't the same player. Let's face it, he was stinking up the court his last couple years here. If the Kings hadn't made that trade, they wouldn't have made the playoffs in 2006. And look at Peja now: 14 ppg, 1.3 apg, 3.3 rpg, 42% shooting. Artest beats him in nearly every category,including Peja's famed shooting, and he is a much better defender.

You know what if the Kings were to keep this team for another 2-3 years they would have won the NBA title at least once. I believe the Kings team from the 2000-2003 season was the shit but all they needed to do was kick it into another gear. Vlade was indeed THE MAN to count on when guarding Shaq and was very good at taking charges as well. As a matter of fact this Kings team kinda reminds me of the old Utah Jazz team with Stockton and Malone after Jordan left in 1998. But what's done is done.

Webber was my scapegoat while he played for the Kings, especially when he returned from his career-altering knee surgery in 2004. But now that he's gone I realize he was the Sacramento Kings. As a friend of mine said "When we had Webber, we thought Webber was the problem. Now we realize it wasn't Webber who sucked, but everyone else who sucks"

Well I liked Bobby Jackson when he was with the Kings. `High energy guy off the bench that could defend his ass off. Hedo was erratic, but a good guy to have off the bench. They had the perfect team to dethrone the Lakers, because they had a great PG and PF, which were the Lakers' weakest positions. 

I blame CWebb all the way for Game7, you see guys bricking it from 3, you don't keep passing to them when you're the star player on your teams.

Christie was always a streak shooter so I'm not surprised. Peja disappointed for someone as great a shooter as he was. Rick Fox got into his head.

Christie I liked for his effort, he'd have better been suited as a 6th man to come of the bench than starter if they'd had a better shooting SG.

My problem with the Kings is that they don't play any D (except Artest), and there's no true leader. In fact I don't think the Kings have had a true leader since Richmond was a King.

When I mean leader, I mean someone the team could rally around and would take responsibility for wins/losses. CWebb wasn't this kind of player, Bibby-Martin too quiet. Artest too unpredictable. They need to get rid of him despite his talent.

Yeah my bad, forgot about him. He might've been a finesse centre, but he was fiery. I remember that "home court" prediction he made vs. the Lakers. They needed CWebb to have that kind of attitude towards L.A.

I think CWebb was intimidated going into the paint vs. Shaq and showed the Lakers too much respect. Despite the obvious mismatch, Vlade wasn't backing down from Shaq whether on or off the court.

I always thought Vlade did a pretty good job against Shaq compared to other centers. And unlike the Kings current center, Brad Miller, Vlade had some post moves and could play inside. I think he was a better passer and rebounder, and also more consistent. That's pretty sad, since Vlade was in his mid thirties and the tail end of his career while playing here.

What it came down to was free throws. When you shoot 16/30 from the line you're not going to win many games. It ticked me off though whenever people mentioned the fts as something they needed to work on because they had been such a good ft shooting team in 2001-02, so good that I doubted whether they could improve. It was just one game, but one game that counted most, where they couldn't sink their free throws.
