  • Did you know the lyrics to "Amazing Grace" fit this song perfectly?

  • Go go GO , Eric ! & stay forevva ....

  • Wassup 'RandomStrikeTroll'

  • I saw Eric Burdon in 2000 in a small club northern Sydney along with the then Police Commissioner It was a great night.

  • @dorisjean1000 Nancy Sinatra gave a concert in 2000 at Whisky Go-Go, with Burdon,Do you saw her with him?

  • very nice song , I love it , I;m happy born in best's band ever, now is b.s.

  • an absolute classic. perhaps the best song ever made.

  • i played dis song in music class sum time ago :3

  • Saw him play in Austin back in the mid 90's? Don't know what he was like in his prime but as far as I could tell he's stil got it all!

  • Love the beginning, the little duet on the the guitars sounds awesome!

  • Amazing voice, no one sounds like him to this day....and this song is just fabulous, still rocking after all these years. Been listening to him now for 47 years.

  • @indygochild saw the animals at the scene club in london a truly unforgetable night

  • These guys were simply awesome, those were the days!

  • @Lloydhl yeah, those were the days my friend, we tought will never end!!!

  • Quality. No mixing in the studio like today - you could either play or sing or quite simply you couldn't!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm only satisifed when I'm on a drunk, too

  • i like this version better than the hd quality one........

  • This is real music not like the mfk shet of gaga!

  • wow..i prefer this version! :Δ

  • The original Animals version is in here but seemingly panned hard right and seems to have a stereo instrumental version synced in with it. It's the tuning between the two that's a bit off, not the tempo.

  • "Alan Price-writer" HA! Bet the other Animals are still kicking themselves over that one...

  • He is one ugly gnome, but they were brilliant!

I remember the first time I heard it on Saturday night at 6pm on BBC's "Juke Box Jury"- -they all said it would be a "miss" because at 4 and 1/2 minutes it was "too long"- -all except Adam Faith that is, who loved it and voted "hit".

  • @Jigaboo123456 he is not ugly

  • @Jigaboo123456

What does one's physical appearance have to do with talent? Eric is *still hot, gray hair and all, just sayin'.

  • @theegee1 Nothing at all- -I did say they were brilliant!

  • 9 people never made it out of the house of the rising sun.... poor them

  • Meine erste Cassette war von Eric Burdon and the Animals u. a.mit diesem

Lied. Bis heute finde ich es wunderschön u. berührend.

  • ♥ the animals

  • 9 justin bibber fans... ROCK AND ROLL MOTHERF...

  • wir waren jung und brauchten das Geld, also haben wir uns die Finger wund gespielt.

  • lol i love at 3:55 the guy behind Eric Burdon just smiling and thinking to himself GOD we sound good :}

  • what a kick, this is so lovely, im back in the 60es

  • This is a remarkable song. I kept wondering what inspired a British band to write a song about a poor boy in New Orleans. Not until researching a little recently did I realize that this song has a long history dating all the way back to the 1500 England! It was later brought to America by the immigrants and gradually evolved into the present form with The Big Easy as backdrop. Still, there is no consensus as to where that House is or whether it ever existed at all. Anyway, superb rendition! A+

  • @BeztMuzic I guess there were many "houses of the rising sun" in New Orleans as well as else where, where drinking, gambling and prostitution took place under the same roof. As such, the song doesn't have to be about any house in particular.

  • @AnfinnChr

Thank you for your comment. You are right from a broader perspective. There are such houses everywhere in the world.

By the way, you live in Faroe Islands? I didn’t know this island country between Iceland and Scotland until checking your channel. It should be an interesting place to visit for my summer vacation in the future :)

  • @BeztMuzic I suppose it could be an interesting visit, although it doesn't take that long to see all the sites. Word of advice. If you travel from the US, find out what day there is a connection between Iceland and the Faroes. That would be the cheapest route. There is a daily route from Copenhagen, Denmark, but the Icelandic route is cheaper for Americans.

  • @AnfinnChr

Thank you for your useful tips. I already booked my vacation for this summer long ago but will seriously consider Faroe for my adventure in one year or two.

  • It's too slow. Terrible!

  • chas is soooooo handsome. i love eric but chas is so dedicated to this music you can tell in every song eric sings.

  • No offense to the Beatles, but while they were playing light cheesy stuff like "Hard Day's Night" these guys were doing deep emotional stuff like this classic.

  • This is my favourite Animals song

  • My favorite line-up of The Animals. Brian Chas Chandler was a cute guy. I love how John Steel just chews his gum so nonchalantly. Burdon was the epitome of cool in those days.

  • @highroadnow it's a cover...you do know that right?

  • Joder, que bueno!

  • You know this sound isn't the real sound of animals' version. We can't hear the awesome piano.. but still great, i love Eric.

  • aaaaaa no

  • @moneycowurmom No, the rolling stones and the Animals weren't enemy;; it's Justin Beaver who created this accounts to dislike this perfect song, because he is jalous caus he will never to ankle to my Eric.

  • Hey, folks, this the blues! A real blues.. It is way out of the bluesy standards, but it is a smelly blues as it can get… Passion and the pain interact while the sweat is soaking that ball and chain… I just promised to myself that first time when I would perform in New Orleans – I will sing that song! …just a guitar, vocal and the goose bumps…

    Cheers, Marino Frost~~

  • I'm building a time machine..and travelling back to the times of huge tunes like this..and I'm gonna settle down with a couple of hundred pounds of great smoke..I'm gonna toke my face off and listen to all the great music right up through the mid-eighties..then I'm going to go back and do it all over again..and I ain't ever coming back to these times again...

  • @tyme4mike

Mike, I totally agree with your thinking. You make me laugh because I never touch the stuff, but I would do all the rest. Those were time of great tunes and we don't see anything that compares and haven't for 20 years.

  • sounds like it cames from the temple of legends :)
