I have read the Revan novel and it was good. I must say that I was hooked in more by Darth Bane's story. Path of Destruction was an incredible novel and I can't wait to read Darth Bane: Rule of Two.

He wanted only to break down that which he could rebuild, and planned to use his Sith Empire to stand against the Old Sith Empire. If not for Malak's interference, Revan probably could have done this. But beating the Old Sith Empire might've been another thing entirely. Yes, with the Star Forge, Revan could build an incredibly massive fleet that the Old Sith Empire would'nt be able to repel.
Revan has alot to do with the sacking of Coruscant (not directly) if you watch the video Malgus says they"ve been planning the attack for 300 hundred years, but when you read when revan met the Sith emperor they had been planning it for 1000 years. Malgus says 300 because 300 years before, Revan had been sent to do that exact same thing, sack coruscant/weaken the republic.

He was sent to bolster the Sith Fleet by using the Star Forge so they could attack sooner but Revan and Malak used the Star Forge for their own reasons. As a result the Star Forge was destroyed and The Emperor had to wait another 300 years before their fleet would be prepared. If you haven't read the Journal of Master Gnost Dural that comes with the Collector Ed. of The Old Republic do it because it says lots of this stuff.
But the only thing is if reven got put put in stais and if the exile went to find he/her wounded he/she be stuck with reven and the emoper of the sith

To allegedly intentionally fall to the dark side for the betterment of the galaxy, and to completely vanish into the depths of space to do god knows what....they coulda made movies about it.

Revan wanted to counter the sith and knowing the jedi wouldn't him capture the star forge revan made a huge scarifice and became dark lord of the sith and set to capture the star forge as it was the only way he thought to counter the sith. After the events of kotor he travels to find the threat so who knows what revan did in the 300 years.

So really Malak didn't do anything if it wasn't for the Jedi Council wiping Revans memories The Republic would have fallen anyway.
@lollypopalopicus P.S. Even if Revan or Malak had taken The Republic 300 years before the Sith Empire came they would have lost it to the Sith Empire when they finally returned. The Sith fleet is massive and there forces unchallengeable. The only reason Revan and Malak had so much power over The Republic was because they had taken a majority of the Republic Fleet into the Mandalorian wars and when they turned to the Dark side the Republic fleet was crippled.

The Sith Emperor knew of the Star Forge, he was the one who sent Revan and Malak there in the first place, and when Malak and Revan turned on him for their own goals the Star Forge would have been his first target when the Sith returned. By either capturing the Star Forge or destroying it the Sith Empire would have won against Revan and Malak.
@lollypopalopicus it is canon that he left the republic infrastructure intact because he was stopping the emporer from invading he was evil because he needed to be he never wanted to conquer the republic.

I have read the Revan novel and it was good. I must say that I was hooked in more by Darth Bane's story. Path of Destruction was an incredible novel and I can't wait to read Darth Bane: Rule of Two.

Well, my warning still stands. Revan left the republic to stop the sith empire from attacking the exile followed him several years later they allied with a sith lord and confronted the emperor, in the last moments the sith lord betrayed them and killed the exile, Revan was traped in a prison/lab where time could not effect him, the sith lord became immortal as a reward for his loyalty, highest chance is that the jedi side will encounter Revan within the game at some point revan won because he delayed the attack for 300 years

Revan intended to betray the Sith Emperor once he had the Republic under his control. He wanted only to break down that which he could rebuild, and planned to use his Sith Empire to stand against the Old Sith Empire. If not for Malak's interference, Revan probably could have done this. But beating the Old Sith Empire might've been another thing entirely. Yes, with the Star Forge, Revan could build an incredibly massive fleet that the Old Sith Empire would'nt be able to repel.

Revan has alot to do with the sacking of Coruscant (not directly) if you watch the video Malgus says they"ve been planning the attack for 300 hundred years, but when you read when revan met the Sith emperor they had been planning it for 1000 years. Malgus says 300 because 300 years before, Revan had been sent to do that exact same thing, sack coruscant/weaken the republic.

He was sent to bolster the Sith Fleet by using the Star Forge so they could attack sooner but Revan and Malak used the Star Forge for their own reasons. As a result the Star Forge was destroyed and The Emperor had to wait another 300 years before their fleet would be prepared. If you haven't read the Journal of Master Gnost Dural that comes with the Collector Ed. of The Old Republic do it because it says lots of this stuff.

turns out the Sith emperor captured a weakened Revan after 3 years of imprisonment by a Sith lord. that Sith lord caught him in a weakened state after a battle ship blasted the Ebon hawk. He was released by the exile form the second game and then went to kill the emperor wit the exile and a redeemed sith lord. however he was betrayed by the sith and was trapped by the emperor for 300 years..

Revan wanted to counter the sith and knowing the jedi wouldn't him capture the star forge revan made a huge scarifice and became dark lord of the sith and set to capture the star forge as it was the only way he thought to counter the sith. After the events of kotor he travels to find the threat so who knows what revan did in the 300 years.

They were sent to use the Star Forge to bolster the final troops and ships needed for the Sith to return and take back The Republic but instead Malak and Revan used the Star Forge for their own goals. While their betrayal didn't set the Sith Empire back on it's plans to take over The Republic it didn't help the Sith attack 300 years earlier then planned. So all in all nothing changed really.

@lollypopalopicus And while Malak did attack Revans ship trying to kill him when the Jedi boarded Revans ship, he didn't kill Revan which allowed the Jedi to wipe Revans memories. If Malak had succeeded in killing Revan when he attacked the ship there would have been no one to oppose Malak since Revan was the one who stopped Malak after having his memory wiped. So really Malak didn't do anything if it wasn't for the Jedi Council wiping Revans memories The Republic would have fallen anyway.

The Sith fleet is massive and there forces unchallengeable. The only reason Revan and Malak had so much power over The Republic was because they had taken a majority of the Republic Fleet into the Mandalorian wars and when they turned to the Dark side the Republic fleet was crippled.

The Sith Emperor knew of the Star Forge, he was the one who sent Revan and Malak there in the first place, and when Malak and Revan turned on him for their own goals the Star Forge would have been his first target when the Sith returned. By either capturing the Star Forge or destroying it the Sith Empire would have won against Revan and Malak.
