Read Hebrews 7:11-28. It is clear that Christ is heralded as the last and only Priest. Verse 22 drives it home (22 This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant.) He calls it a "better" covenant. Better than what? Than any before. As v 25 says: "Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them." V 28 says that Christ has been appointed as "a Son who has been made perfect forever." A Son!

I agree whole-heartedly with the Sheikh's rejection of the Western tendency to use women and sex to sell cars, entertainment and other consumer goods. I would venture to say that I hate these things more than Deedat. But I must add that these are not Christian teachings. They are secular. They are foreign to the biblical worldview. For Deedat to suggest they are anything else stems either from ignorance or an attempt to deliberately mislead.

The triune nature of the God-head goes all the way back to Genesis chapter one. And Jesus does mention that he is a part of that God-head. "I and the Father are one." John 10:30. "The Father is in me and I am in the Father." John 10:38. This is affirmed many, many times throughout scripture. If you want to throw out this principle, you must throw out the entire Bible.  If this principle is false, then the Bible is a lie. But if the Bible teaches truth, then this is truth.

(Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:6) Christianity also allows God to make the claim that he exists eternally in the form of 3 persons - NOT 3 beings. 1 being in 3 persons. (Genesis 1:26, John 1:1-2, John 10:38, John 15:26 through 16:15, John 17:5, Acts 4:10-12, Romans 1:1-6, Colossians 1:15-20, Hebrews 1:1-14, indeed all of the book of Hebrews)

Let us look at John 10:30 "I (Jesus) and the Father are One." This verse is severely misunderstood and is taken out of context, because beginning at verse John 10:23 we read (in the context of 10:30) about Jesus talking to the Jews. In verse John 10:28-30, talking about his followers as his sheep, he states: "...Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father who gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are One."

These verses prove only that Jesus and the Father are one in that no man can pluck the sheep out of either's hand. It does not at all state that Jesus is God's equal in everything. In fact the words of Jesus, " My Father, who gave them me is Greater than ALL...," in John 10:29 completely negates this claim, otherwise we are left with a contradiction just a sentence apart. All includes everyone even Jesus.

It doesn't negate the claim. There is a kind of hierarchy - though that isn't quite the right word - in the godhead. The Father is called the Father because He is in the position of leadership. The Son is called Son because he submits to the Father's will while on earth. The concept of the trinity is admittedly confusing, but I urge you to consider the whole gospel and not give up on it because you disagree with the trinity. If it is true, you are the one who needs to change, not the doctrine.

Also let us look at verse John 17:20-22 "That the ALL may be made ONE. Like thou Father art in me, I in thee, that they may be ONE in us. I in

them, they in me, that they may be perfect in ONE". In this verse, the same word ONE used, the Greek, HEN is used, not only to describe Jesus and the Father but to describe Jesus, the Father and eleven of the twelve disciples of Jesus. So here if that implies equality, we have a unique case of 13 Gods.

Of the verse in question, "I and the Father are One" in (John 10:30), we also need to take note of the verses following the 30th verse in the text. In those verses, the Jews accuse Jesus falsely of claiming to be God by these words. He however replies, proving their accusation wrong by their own text: "The Jews answered him saying,'For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy, and because that thou being a man, makest thyself a God '" (John 10:33).

Jesus replies to this accusation saying: "Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your Law, "I said ye are gods. Let us look at Acts 2:22 "O you men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a MAN approved of God among you..." Peter in the Book of Acts testifies about Jesus. Jesus thus even to his disciples, as to early Christians, not poisoned by Pauline doctrine, was a man, not a God.

This statement does not suggest either a dual or triune deity. What John's Jesus meant by the word hen ("one") becomes clear from his prayer concerning the apostles: "That they may be one [hen], just as we are one [hen]" (John 17:22), which means that they should be united in agreement with one another as he (Jesus) is always united in agreement with God, as stated: "I [Jesus] always do the things that are pleasing to Him [God]" (John 8:29).

There is thus no implication that Jesus and God, or the twelve apostles are to be considered as of one essence.

The whole Bible is the word of God. You can't throw out parts or say that only certain portions are divinely inspired. If you do that, you can't believe anything it says. If you do that, then none of it has any value or worth. You cannot throw out part of it as poisoned and then cite other parts as truth. That is inconsistent and as such has no bearing on truth.

Again, Deedat misrepresents the teaching of the Bible. Hebrews is a speech written to be delivered to believers. The writer means that no genealogy for Melchizedek is given in genesis. A good reading of Hebrews 7 makes this clear and it makes clear that Christ's priesthood is far superior to that of Melchizedek's.
