i think, this song means like 2 lovers are going to die because of the first stanza. and the "tiny feathers of my holy ancient days" means like the memories on his/her past days.

the first stanza...isn't it the meaning is like, they are happy (light, so far from darkness) now on the journey? sakura lost her memories so they go on a journey. the journey is like her new life..."so we leave for tomorrow " is like they go on a journey to find their future. in order to find the future, they have to look for the feathers(memories). well, that's my opinion....
