A very cool setup to see, using the 960's Morbius. :) I'm currently working on my own sequencer design, having finally figured out how the 960 works. Breadboard tests are beginning today, for the alpha V1.00. In time, I hope to have an analog sequencer with the abiilty to patch together any combinations of steps, desired between sequencer's modules. As well as 1V/oct. output.
Great to see your work tho - compared to the standard repeating of 8, 12 or 16 steps, over and over and ...
all these videos sound amazing!!! i was wondering - i'm getting a Q960 set up - but i can only afford one at the moment........is there anyway you can show what you can do with one sequencer only?
Marvellous music, you really know how to emanate optimum harmonic resonances from your beautiful synths & modules. The possibilities are infinite and you have chosen some really cosmic musical ones ;) :) Thank you.
Please have more links to your music in your texts.... w w w.cdbaby.com/cd/cybertron
and it would be real easy to add digital downloads to your cdbaby account, but I know you want to sell the CD's first. Your music suits the cyber generation :)
You have gears like the Tonto Cave, it's tremendous, seen on phantom of paradise! the tutorial is fun also, it's nearly I begin to understand something, it's just a bit long to finish before it disappear.
What a great and informative video! i am just starting with some diy stuff and most of the time you just see videos where the makers assume that the viewer knows what is done or just simply freakin'g.
Question: Is it possible to give a very simple tutorial about sequencers with just gate and cv and what are the basic effects on those with for instance vco vcf and so forth. That would help my understanding a lot.
And i mean BASIC. Would you do that? I think that would be an asset to youtube.
I will say you are a lucky sumb*tch. I got to use a Aarp 2600 in the early 80'sfor a year but back then a sequencer was financially out of reach. Endless hours of fun!
Im very impressed with the sound you generate from this modular unit, Ive tried with digital synths for years but they dont do it for me. shades of 70's TD and Ashra,
Very Cool Morbius. I'm just now dumping all of the synthesizers I've collected over the years, to feed my addiction to the Modular Gods. I've been watching your vids for a while now, and you are like the guy that stands outside of the schoolyard offering free samples of Crack or something. Keep it up! Man I'm Jonesin. I know, I'll order a Q119 right now, here I go ...
No, not the Q150 Ladder Filter... just one State Variable Filter. Now that I think about it... what you might be hearing is actually some FX-processor on-board my mixer/recorder. As I recall, it was set for a Rev. -> flanger, or flanger -> reverb, which was actually just mixed-in for some frosting. I had been experimenting with some FX-out to modular, and back to 'return' earlier, and just never reset it... a 'happy accident', I suppose.
Great !

Wich synthesizers have you been using?
I find that a Roland V-synthGT does the job quite nicley.

Well.... tanx in copius abundance.
I'll tell ya though... a Q119 is okay... but to do this kind patching, ya gotta have at least two Q960's.

Thank you very much for all the info and the ideas! And the pleasant music too! Do you have a url where we can download sessions as mp3s?

Naw... I'm not doing 'downloads' at this time.... not 'til I've sold enough of my CD's to at least break even on the production costs.
