As I've said already, I have not indicated that Loreena McKennitt is the author of this song, the lyrics I found are simply those she has used in her version of the song. My computer has died so no way of changing the video.

@marijan25 as I have said in the description of this video, there is a typo on the first slide. The lyrics in this video were used in Loreena McKennitt's version of the song. I have not claimed to own this song or have written this song, it's a very traditional piece and considered public domain. This is just my version of the song with lyrics used in Loreena's version. I always give credit, where credit is due in my recordings.

There is no actual evident that King Henry VIII wrote this song. It is probably Elizabethan in origin and based on an Italian style of composition that did not reach England until after his death.

I've loved this song for years, and did my first ballet solo to it...I never knew there were such sad words to it, though. It's still one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. :)
