Wow for wow. 64 likes and only one dislike. Thanks All. I know the video itself isn't great, but I really just post videos to share my music. Thanks for the support!
This video was created in a hurry, I did not intend for the lyrics to match the music exactly, I just didn't have any pictures to use at the time. And yes, I know Loreena McKennitt did not write this song however the lyrics I used were from her version of the song. Thanks everyone for stopping by.
I'm sorry but I do have to say I think that I think the lyrics are a little mismatched but it is a good attempt. I know this because I am doing it for my NYSSMA solo
As I've said already, I have not indicated that Loreena McKennitt is the author of this song, the lyrics I found are simply those she has used in her version of the song. My computer has died so no way of changing the video.
@marijan25 as I have said in the description of this video, there is a typo on the first slide. The lyrics in this video were used in Loreena McKennitt's version of the song. I have not claimed to own this song or have written this song, it's a very traditional piece and considered public domain. This is just my version of the song with lyrics used in Loreena's version. I always give credit, where credit is due in my recordings.
There is no actual evident that King Henry VIII wrote this song. It is probably Elizabethan in origin and based on an Italian style of composition that did not reach England until after his death.
I've loved this song for years, and did my first ballet solo to it...I never knew there were such sad words to it, though. It's still one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. :)
Beautiful

Thanks it's always one of my favourite melodies to perform at Christmas time on the organ too. I just had to record it.

this song has always been sad. but to actually have the words to go with it makes it even more sad. makes me wonder about life..
Svan60722 2 years ago
Thanks, this song always makes me think of Christmas (What Child is This) but Loreena McKennitt's version is one of my favourites.
