I would still buy one of those 150 watt shop light rigs and just do one splitter each then back to a power strip. So then you have 80 watts of builds threw a 600 watt coupler then into a 150 watt rated socket back to a power strip with a surge protector. Repeat that 3 times tie it all together and I think that is a much safer setup than using all these connectors off one cord. Within the wattage range it shouldn't be a problem, be then again you are assuming some guy in a china did his job : )

@marcr12205 Actually it's not even close to being a fire hazard. Each one of those sockets is rated at 60 watts and most 3 way adapters are rated at 1500 watts total. All 6 bulbs total up to just 138 watts which is well below the 1500 watt rating of the components.
now all you need to do is that the original 3 way plug plug it in a power strip and can mount the power strip to the ceiling so u can gave like 6-8 more set ups for your growing lol jk
CFL is a very cheap way to grow herbs and require so many lumens (21000) for few plants. I mean it does work but plants don't get their full develop, remain small and the buds grow kinda small too. I remember my first harvest with few CFL 23 watts = 100 watts. I got 2 blunts out of it, lolololol no lie. It was good though back then 1st time I was happy. Now I combine lights MH250W with HPS250W blue/white spectrum seedling n Vegg. Then use HPS lights for flowering, you will have great yields
@BklynPrototype I have your answer already. You used 23 Watts! You CANT do that and get a harvest with big buds. You DONT use the Equivalents - you get actual. They cost about $20-$30 a Bulb.

You can also just wire sockets in parralel and mount them in PVC pipe, which trust me is easy.
I just made a rectangular frame to fit the dimensions of my grow space, and wired lamps horizonally (into PVC T fittings) about an inch apart. Do it on both sides and you have, well in my case 10 lamps, horizontal to the plants, just as it should be.

I used to make them connectors, specially the main socket. They aren't meant to support that much load. Heat can and will eventually break down and cause issues. Read on the sides, tells you its max capacities... The Y's can handle 2 lights but 6 lights to one socket, that thing needs more protection then just plastic. Even the big 150-200watt cfls recommend porcelain sockets.
i wouldn't do this but If I did it I'd make sure the sockets and adapters are UL approved Also it looks like they could fall out of the main outlet if heavy bulbs are used,Plug into a 6 way surge protector and then you have 2 lines of defense against fire, this is drawing less than 140 w, your average hairdryer is around 1100w with the bigger ones up and above 1800w, installing a surge protector between lights and wall socket almost guarantees no problems, (almost) Use less bulbs with more watts
At home depot you can get 12 foot extension cords for 1.99. You can get a outlet strip for 9.99. Its a much safer way to do this. spend the extra 20-30 bucks, it could save your ass in the end. Also those Plug to light sockets converters are about 1.99 each, and the 1 to 2 light socket splitters are 2 bucks also, if you screw them together before you check out and do the self checkout you can save yourself the cash just swipin them as one item (i did this). Not an Insult, Just some Advice.

Ok listen up let me school you. Wall mounts have between 15-25 amps that 15,000+ watts. So this set up wont burn down any house. 26X6=156W O_O. Also using CFL can save you money on the cooling too a 156w cfl setup can give you the same amount of bud than a156w HPS but with the HPS you need to spend on a 50w fan or several smaller ones to cool your plants. CFL are more stealthy too since you dont need to have opening to let the heat out you can keep it all locked up without vents and still b cool
They is a lot of difference opinions on this, many will tell you color spectrum is all important. But from experience Spectrum is irrelevant. You should focus on keeping the lights within a few inches of your plant and keeping them cool at no more than 90degrees. If you are on a budget I would choose warm white wall-mart has 42w CFL putting out 2700 Lumens . So basic I would go with Warm white all the way. but if you can throw in 1/4 of ur lights be soft white that be good too.
Yeah that is highly recommended the dome keeps moisture from escaping it is very good for seedling and specially for "Clones" It also keeps them cool which is good since they are so delicate for the first couple of weeks.
People say 24hours but to me that's a waste of energy 16hours is plenty The seedling will gather an amount of energy during the day and grow in the dark period. 16 of light is more than enough
are you sure that the lights didnt say 2700 kelvin? 2700 is a warm red color rating not the amount of lumens 400 kelvin rating lights a considred neutral and 6200 kelvin is soft or cool white . spectrum isnt irrelevant, 6200 kelvin is more efficiently used during vegetatative phases and 2700 kelvin is more efficiently used during flowering phases. most would say a combination of the two is ideal with more cool white (6200)for veg and more warm white (2700) for flower
i went from 600watt sodium on one grow(seedsman skunk haze) to this exact set up i used 6 6500kelvin for veg and 6 2700 kelvin for flower on this grow (nirvanas white rhino)
i was able to eliminate my main fan and cut wattage on lighting by 444 watts (very eco friendly) my yield dry was still over 400 gm of sticky bud and over 12gm of hash I highly recommend this set up but hang like he suggests but i constructed a reflector hood of cardboard and tin foil cost irrelevant.... @5canesNatcham No you can't. There are 6 23w bulbs. That's only 138 watts. You could hook up about 12 of these on one circuit, no problem. Just make sure to use a good extension cord.
excelent idea... my kush and white widow both grown under this fixture in a smaller cabinet set up i added a second fixture with red spectrum during flowering my buds range from an inch to almost 8 up top .... this is economical cheap and now my hps system is gathering dust in the garage... by the way from those two plants i yielded just over 4 oz if kind 420 ppl peace!

People say 24hours but to me that's a waste of energy 16hours is plenty The seedling will gather an amount of energy during the day and grow in the dark period. 16 of light is more than enough

are you sure that the lights didnt say 2700 kelvin? 2700 is a warm red color rating not the amount of lumens 400 kelvin rating lights a considred neutral and 6200 kelvin is soft or cool white . spectrum isnt irrelevant, 6200 kelvin is more efficiently used during vegetatative phases and 2700 kelvin is more efficiently used during flowering phases. most would say a combination of the two is ideal with more cool white (6200)for veg and more warm white (2700) for flower

i went from 600watt sodium on one grow(seedsman skunk haze) to this exact set up i used 6 6500kelvin for veg and 6 2700 kelvin for flower on this grow (nirvanas white rhino)
i was able to eliminate my main fan and cut wattage on lighting by 444 watts (very eco friendly) my yield dry was still over 400 gm of sticky bud and over 12gm of hash I highly recommend this set up but hang like he suggests but i constructed a reflector hood of cardboard and tin foil cost irrelevant.... @5canesNatcham No you can't. There are 6 23w bulbs. That's only 138 watts. You could hook up about 12 of these on one circuit, no problem. Just make sure to use a good extension cord.

excelent idea... my kush and white widow both grown under this fixture in a smaller cabinet set up i added a second fixture with red spectrum during flowering my buds range from an inch to almost 8 up top .... this is economical cheap and now my hps system is gathering dust in the garage... by the way from those two plants i yielded just over 4 oz if kind 420 ppl peace!
