Everyone here complaining about the amp being $500: stop it, please. This is a high quality amplifier and you guys are upset because it is 500 for .5 watt? That is ridiculous. The tone out of this is better than most amps I have heard under $1000 and it is perfect for home practice.

Obviously a great, great amp, but I can't get past the whole 1/2 Watt thing... Is this amp even gonna be loud enough to gig? Say I wanted to play out of a 412 cab...i don't even know if that could top the drums when they aren't mic'd. I've heard that all-tube wattage is way different from solid state, so if this is 1/2 watt, what does that translate to solid-state watts? I really wanna buy one of these, can anyone help with any of these questions? Thanks

Tone King. When you play melodic guitar, like you did part way through this video, your sound demos sound fantastic. I much prefer that type of playing in your sound demos than the random note playing with little or no expression. Keep up the great work (many of us really appreciate it)!

There is one thought that has been consistent from me ever since I discovered this mini-amp several years ago.

It's still ridiculousy over priced.

For only 10 bucks more than that, I bought a vintage fuzzy EL34 Carvin X100B, plus an Ibanez TS7 Tubescreamer, plus a 17-point modification kit for the pedal, PLUS a used 2x10 cab. For 40% of this cost, you can buy a Blackheart Little Giant. Add a BH112 cab and you're still less than 80% of the cost of this amp alone, WITHOUT a cabinet. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good, but $500 is out of control for a bedroom/practice/recording head.

Hey Ozzk - thanks man. Yes, when I was reading up on this unit ... the tones were designed to give you Marshall-esque cranked tones, and a 20db quieter difference ... and I'd say those sounds were pretty hot (IMO). Thanks for the comment! Take care, and talk soon!!

Sounds limited to distortion only with no clean at all and is too expensive for a backup amp unlike the .22 caliber from EHX.

What really amazes me is all this tube technology interest in something that was everyday household tech at one time.

Engineers the world over of any age above 40 are probably giddy over things they can design in their sleep commanding these prices and which can be made by your average hobbyist.

Nice demo, as always! For absolute perfection you could hit some cords and notes on passive humbugies too and maybe some singles. This is good amp BUT really too expensive. BTW you could recommend Zvex to make some DIY kits for dummies and sell them for about 100 -150 greenies and I am totally sure they will go as avalanche.
