manga studio exl. the latest model, at the moment the latest one is no.4 and exl. is realy expensive, so i got debut, instead it is still pretty good. oh and a tablet, they help.

I always just draw the eyes like that, but higher, without a pupill, and with 2 lights: one at the top, standard, and one at the righ/left side (depending where the light comes from).

Actually, being able to sketch anime can help you to quick sketch people if you learn to draw 'realism anime' such as death note or bleach. It's helped me alot in trying to draw real people. And yes it Does sell.

every great manga artist has a great understanding of real anatomy and proportions.

you have to under stand how things work in reality before you can distort it.

I understand it and I myselve was studying how to draw real world's things (who doesn't want to show their beautiful drawings), but to suggest chosing the "real drawing" over the ANIME is wrong... by the way, there are many styles of drawing, but also there are many ways to learn how to draw...

Not necessarily. It would only strengthen your style and your work. If you look at Japan, almost all of the big manga artists can draw realistic people.

I myself got into manga at a young age and started there. Then as time went on, I started drawing realistic people/things to further my skills. And I'm much better than I was before. No funky proportions when I draw something = sexy.

However, this is only a suggestion. If that's what you enjoy, stick with it.

these are very american style manga eyes. Japanese manga eyes are totaly different. And these are all the same type really. I mean you could have put some variety of looks. Good though...

I don't believe it is americanized every anime and manga has their own eyes animations etc, like Deathnote, to Clannad, to Haruhi Suziyama

well its just one of those, where its an old style, and usually this is the first type of eyes learned, and most americans think of doing this style. for some reason O.o
