Lol People getting mad over the hope thing... Please all the colors of the rainbow didnt become rings until way more recently. I like this origin story... But with all the recent shit that has come up, its really a headache just to know which color does what and why.

Okay WHY would a power ring let someone who was loned a ring keep it and let it's own master die? Is this before they decided that the rings had a mind of their own (to some extent).  I would think the ring would have left Sinestro and returned to it's master and saved his life no matter what. For that matter why would a ring let a Lantern do evil with it in the first place?

@NJakini Yeah but I've heard it said that unless you're choosen to be a Green Lantern no force in the universe can force the ring on your finger. The rings are allowed to choose their own wearers and they've even been shown to respond to subconious will (Arisa's ring made her an adult becasue she loved Hal and he wouldn't have anything to do with a child). So it should resist being misused and stolen even if the theif is a canidate. As long as it's current user is alive.
