  • Who has a video on the stock?

  • Hey!!! Isnt this how Neo learned how to fight

  • Ari, you guys are the best.

  • the video on the fence is really interesting

  • What if we can zombie him? Is this still a good option to go for or is zombie a more efficient move?

  • The asylum sweep is amazing. Its hard to pull off in the start but once you can get, sweeping from the guard is amazingly easy

  • sinistro, Resende-Brasil

  • I can't quite tell, but it almost looks like there might be a neck crank component to this triangle because the guy is sideways. Is this a submission a choke or a neck crank?

  • I have a question about the whole rubber guard thing. I'm just a whitebelt but I really like using the rubber guard when sparring in practice. I've gotten many triangles from it and some omoplata's. I'm interested in focussing a little on rubber guard techniques, but I was wondering if that's a good idea, or if it's more suited for higher ranked guys?

  • @Zevvion if you can work out of it I say go for it...it doesn't hurt to work your regular guard, still, though...if the question is to work from a regular guard first and then "work up to" rubber guard, I would say not really necesary...but it is important to remember why rubber guard is useful, and a day without rubber guard will remind you how important it is...

  • This is awesome, thank you. Ive been having trouble with my partners getting used to defending zombie.

  • @jahoppas start rocking them to get a hand on the mat...when you see your partner is dedicating his arms in t-rex, start trying to sweep instead....YOU remember the goal is actually zombie, but they WILL use their arms to post....

  • @MrPhrogphurter Yeah I agree. You are an intelligent poster, and I value your input for real. Feel free to check out my page and subscribe if u want.

  • I loooove it!

  • this move is so sick

  • try doing this "when your opponent sits up on his ass with hes legs straight or well if he just sits on his ass then you stand behind him and you bend you body a bit forward so that your knees are at each side of his head then you just puh the knees in and from that posision you can grab his arm and spin it then roll over his body and go till you sit right next to him spin the arm a bit more" and he will at some point be laing down for the tap

  • I did this today and actually found an armbar off this, i didn't pull the arms in just closed the triangle and saw it

  • BIG thanks to Ari who posted this vid, which helped a fight in my first tournament ever. You should have seen the guys face when I swept him with the asylum (didnt go for the crooked triangle, I was way too stressed out and didnt ever remember it existed, even though Ive done it a few times when sparring). You guys are the best. Also thanks Eddie for coming to Stockholm and Jerome for coming to Gothenburg to spread these beautiful techniques to Sweden.

  • Thanks for all the videos Ari. I learn something new every time I watch any of them.

  • nice. there's alot of options from there.cool variation

tho. Next stop Asylum sweep to mounted monoplata.

  • some dude has a vid up that calls that position at

    3:08 tangled up control.

  • Ohhh, man, that's a nasty sub.

    Looks like a contortionist.

  • Hmmmm.. I have trouble working rubber guard because I'm so damn small comp[ared to the rest of the people in my camp.. I walk around about 125... most of the people I grapple are between 150-200 pounds D: So it's hard to stretch my leg over.. But other than having trouble with rubber guard, I've learned A TON and applied A TON of the submissions from your videos :) thank you 10th planet :)

  • sick. i'll give it a go bradda man.

  • brilliant i'll be trying this one!! i'm lucky i'm quite flexibile and latley been looking at this rubber guard cos i think it will boost my game no end!!

  • Crucial!!!

  • dude this move is sick

  • damn! wanted to give 5 stars as usual but clicked at three! sorry for that! sick submission! i'll definitely try this one! :D

  • gilbert's stupid!!!

    awesome submission by the way

  • I saw Asylum the other day and I didn"t know if there was another option. Thank"s. Does it fell worse than the regular triangle???

  • I don't understand how these moves are so unknown in my club, all the rubber guard variations and techniques are so useful and yet we never practice them :(

  • because its almost a overhaul one system isn't really better then the other but so much of eddies stuff seems to build off itself so unless you get train a lot of rubber gaurd its pretty hard to apply

  • The Rubber Guard is not hard to learn and the 10th Planet system is more than the RG. The learning curve is no harder than traditional BJJ and proven that 10 year old's are learning it now ;-)

  • In my gym we practice the lockdown, but no rubberguard. We have lots of people who arent suited for the move, thats why. It wouldnt make sense to force them to do it.

I try to learn it anyway though. Just fling it up there while sparring and try the stuff youve seen here. Its not hard to learn or use. Just dont use it on everybody. Start off with newbies and see what you can do. Be creative.

  • have you ever had to use you bjj in real life ?

  • your game is sick i love keep up the good work

  • NIce XD

  • Thats an excellent way to get a triangle in. I just love these videos man

  • Hi Ari! I would just like to give the most immense thank you for posting all these videos and allowing people to be inspired by 10th planet stuff. Most of these techniques would never have been found anywhere else on the web if it wasnt for you guys doing the work and putting them up here on youtube.

  • a humble master. i'm sure that you underestimate yourself! there's no harm in loving what you do.

  • Very nice Ari, That will leave a mark if ever you execute that in a grappling match. Ill practice this. Thanks

  • lol.. the UFC pays alot of money just like any other professional sport

  • You'd be surprise how shitty the pay is for guys for many of the guys.Just look at at the pay outs and how lop sided they are. MMA fighters don't make anything close to other pro athletes. Even the worse hockey player makes 400 000 year...80% of the guys in the UFC will never see money like that in a year.

And besides...I've gotten punched enough bouncing for 14 years ;-)

  • thats true, but if they are a top ranked fighter they get payed alot

  • Yes....but your general statement was that the UFC pays a lot of money just like any other pro sport. This is simply not the case and most guys aren't top ranked.

  • the bottem line is that they make more money than me and you, thats the general statement i was trying to make

  • @Submissions101 ARI ! dude.. this is a sick submission to get the puppet master... im pretty sure you have seen that, its an advanced rubber guard , this works perfect to get to it ! thanks !

  • @Submissions101 thats why you train to be the best biiyaaatch!!!

  • Gsp vs Penn...Gsp had 200 000$ for the fight...and another 200 000$ bonus for the win.

    400 000$ for a fight! :D

  • @theUFCfan101 you're an idiot, the top ranked NFL player gets paid a lot, you are basically trying to defend yourself when you have clearly been "proven" wrong.

  • @Submissions101 u get that money being a fighter, not from the ufc, but from sponsors

  • @theUFCfan101 Frank mir got paid jack shit for getting his face crushed by Brock- Brock made a fortune- the pay was decided before the fight too, although you can get a win bonus, or a ko of the night bonus.

  • good shit, do you think you'll have a future in the UFC some day??

  • laugh...no. Not an athlete by any means and don't have a desire to get punched in the face for little to no money ;-)

  • So rubber guard is just pulling your leg up to the back of the neck?

  • Total beast. I want to join a JJ gym badly. I know some basics, but I can't do stuff like this. Ve3ry nice video, thanks for the tips.

  • awesome technique ari! it seems your knowledge never ceases.

  • Oh trust me...it does....I learn something new everyday...it is the journey, not the destination that counts....I suck at lots of stuff and I put in the reps to try and get better at them too...just like everyone ;-)

  • lol basically like twisting your opponent into a pretzel then slapping on a triangle

  • I knew all that jjj would turn you into a ninja one day!!!

  • Is that good Master Quick? Much of my ninjaness I got from you ;-)

    Hi YA!

  • what techniques would u guys suggest for a fat person(like me lol) who is 5ft5in and isn't really flexible

  • if your serouus about it use your weight be on top i fought a 100 lbs guy and he plays top game being ion top and cross mount makes me tap cause im cant breath and hes crusshing my ribs making it easy for him to do basic submission cause i cant move or breath

  • nice !!

  • OMG ari, this is sick!

  • OMFG! You didn't start with "Submissions 101..."!! xD Great video... As always.

  • I was wondering if anyone would pick that up? ;-)

  • i can see a potential escape while you are still in the stock, when you go for the sweep. it wouldn't work if you grabbed his stocked arm with cross wrist control and kept tight. i noticed you switched wrist control grips in the middle of the tutorial, first you did asylum with your left hand controlling, then later explained to transfer. i guess you did this because it's hard to keep the grip. so wouldn't it be best to just switch grips to cross wrist control as soon as you enter the stock?

  • So much to do to lock him up into that lol

usually my partners are resisting too much to fall for a complicated trick like that. There so many easier things to pull off from guard but if u want to get a few "wtf have u done?!?!1" this is ur technique =P

Ur vids have been of a great use, u made so many of them, gj. Theres one thing I would like to see more. Takedowns and throws that might be usefull in mma match. Hope to see more of u, keep it up =.O

  • it's not really that complicated. they just start from the very beginning to the very end, but really you should think of this as a re-counter to a sweep from a stock.

    step 1. get stock.

    step 2. attempt sweep.

step 3. if sweep fails, attempt crooked triangle.

if you can hold the stock, you can usually hold your guy down pretty well even if he is resisting. you have such a good shoulder pin on him in the stock, it's not even an issue unless the guy is a weight class above you or something

  • Very cool, love your vids Ari

  • awesome!

  • definately some very interesting methods used. The more 10th planet I see, the more I admire it.

The only problem that exists for this system is flexibility issues. Ari, could you please post a video showing a few exercises methods, just a collection of brief clips, that would allow anyone to reach such flexibility levels to learn and use this system.

As always, I find your videos helpful, enjoyable and interesting. Keep up the excellent work.

  • Do the butterfly stretch a lot. There are others that are good for rubberguard stuff, but the butterfly is the best.

  • Hey Ari,

Thanks for the videos; I'm a big fan.

I have had issues with the meathook in the past in rolling sessions and in competition. It could be that my clinch is not sufficiently strong, but my opponents seem to have no trouble slipping out the back door. For this reason I have tended to prefer the traditional RG sequence en route to jiu claw or the gogo.

Are there ways to strengthen the meathook or is it not effective against a guy intent upon pulling out?
