This is such a fantastic video it is almost unbelievable. A couple questions:

#1: How many times did you fly this line before this video.

#2: While you are converging on your target point next to the observers, how do you slightly increase or decrease your path to avoid getting too low, or to avoid being too high about the ground? After thinking a bit, my guess is, your motion is counterintuitive --- become more horizontal (head down slightly) to pass the target higher.

What say you?

By the way, and this probably isn't the correct forum to ask, but have you ever met Jeb Corliss and listened to his ideas on landing without a 'chute. I would imagine that even if you attempted to land on some runway, you'd still have to have one for 2 reasons; a/ In emergency b/ pyschological support..

This is just awesome to watch! It has always been a dream for man kind to be able to fly, and you guys are the closest we get to flying, without any mechanical devices.

I have only one question: Can you at any point "break" or in some way slow the decent if you see that you wont make a close pass? Or do you just have to make it?

Like in this clip where the clearance was extremely small.

@JaniboyN Yeah, a few seconds before. Change the glide will make us clear it with a bit more height :-)

@JokkeSommer: And how do you "change the glide" to increase clearance? Do you raise your head or lower your head to pass higher above the target? Also, is your strategy to come in a bit high at 3:1 glide ratio until you get close, then change to 2:1 to pass lower... or to come in a bit low at 2:1 glide ratio until you get close, then change to 3:1 glide ratio to pass higher... or what? I guess the faster you're moving the more ability you have to change your glide ratio, right? Be safe! :-)

Thanks a lot for all the positive feedback! :-) I`m happy to see that your all happy with what we do! I undertstand the skepticism to many of you, but please keep in mind that this flight where well planned upfront. The conditions where perfect and we had more than 30 seconds of setup time. For us it is important to do the best job possible for the camera man and for the producers of the tv series. We are both well trained on flybys and where 100% current when we did the filming! :-)

It is fun to skydive, but this is the ultimate flying experience I am sure, I bet is more fun than doing the plane acro (witch I did). I your case, you are doing it and not a plane, is awsome! A bit too close, but you are the experts and you know your stuff better than any of us, the guys safe that are watching and giving our thoughts, witch do not value much.

Ive been skydiving a few times, but proximity flying is what I want to get into. So, this Saturday morning I start training with an instructor.
