i dont want to ask a personal question, but i want to know how much do you pay for rent+food? do work part time? are there extra fees (for internet or something)? iv always wanted to live in a dorm but ur last comment is making me hesitate in myy decision....
@lovlyanime All the amounts are canadian: I pay $1000 for the rent each month. There's $500 for internet and phone for the 8 months. Also, food depends on which meal plan you pick. I got the big one which is another 4000-6000$. Mind you, you don't actually get that many dollars to spend, McGill takes a lot of that off to cover the overhead. In my opinion, you should really get an apartment, unless you're --DESPERATE-- to live in student residence.
@unknownguyen $300 for internet, but I recommend using the Ethernet cable they supply you, it's faster than Wifi. Also, yes, bring a printer. Unless you intend on printing off assignments and homework in the library, which depending on your faculty, may close much earlier than you wish to work.
@D0ug91 i wish I read this beforehand....now I'm kicking myself for picking new rez. just wondering, hoiw much are you paying now for your apartment (i'm assuming) and on food after first year?
I want to make it really clear, unless you're desperate to get into residence for the year, it's not worth the extra money. The cost of food, and rent far exceed almost ANY decent apartment in the area (ignore La Cité)

@D0ug91 also, do you think a printer is necessary? how much is it just for wi-fi alone for 8 months?
